im quite sure sunlight isnt naturally blue... now he may have filtered it, but id assume he did it in post. the shot is amazing, and i think the blue sun rays add a lot to it, but to say its not photoshopped is maybe stretching it a bit.

filter? hu? WB? You can do quite mutch with the looks of a picture only changing the ISO or use a softbox on the flash... I can think of 10-15 diffrent ways to make the light blue just using the camera....

It's not the light that's blue, it's the color of the fog/smoke contrasting against the dark trees in the background. Try looking at smoke in hard sunlight in a dark area sometime, you'll see that it's quite blue.
