Cam Zink Teams Up With Pinkbike For 2014

Feb 7, 2014
by Mike Kazimer
Cam Zink is one of the true gladiators of mountain biking, a rider that's not afraid to give it his all, injuries or consequences be damned. That was the story this past season, as Zink competed in the first ever X Games slopestyle competition with a separated shoulder, and then stomped the biggest backflip the mountain bike world had ever seen at the Red Bull Rampage, just a few short days after being hospitalized to have a hematoma drained. He's an incredible athlete, one with the ability to push through pain and fear to accomplish feats that are unfathomable to most riders.

With a resume that lists wins at the biggest stops on the circuit – Crankworx Whistler, Red Bull Rampage, Chatel Mountain Style – Zink is no stranger to the top step of the podium, and shows no signs of slowing down. To make sure Cam's adventures don't go undocumented, Pinkbike is proud to announce that Cam Zink will be a sponsored media rider for the 2014 season, delivering fresh content throughout the year.

Although Cam has had the occasional guest appearance here on Pinkbike, for 2014 he's going to be an official member of the team. He'll even have his own column, giving readers a chance to see what goes on in the mind of one of the world's hardest charging mountain bikers. Plus, he'll be providing exclusive POV course checks from the FMB World Tour, bringing viewers along for the ride at every stop of the series. For the Instagram addicts out there, Cam will also be taking over the Pinkbike account from time to time, sharing photos from his latest exploits and adventures. There are even more projects in the works, so stay tuned to see what unfolds.

bigquotesI am proud to announce this new partnership with Pinkbike, not only the biggest biking website but the world's biggest action sports website. PB delivers all you need to know and more in the world of mountain biking and I will try to keep delivering riding and content worthy of them promoting! I will be continuing on as a contributor, producing my own stories and articles and other exclusive content, as well as representing at events in 2014. There's simply no better place to have my voice heard and I'm stoked to be on board for 2014. Thank you Pinkbike for the support! - Cam Zink

bigquotesWith Cam it's really about always moving things to the next level, and doing it in as big a fashion as possible. Zink always looks at things with a fresh perspective and is willing and able to turn it up at a moment's notice. We're proud to have a guy that is not only killing it on the bike, but building his business with the Sensus brand and supporting his family as well. He's not afraid to question the status quo and nobody pushes the envelope quite like he does, and he does it with a style that's all his own - those are qualities that Pinkbike aspires to every day. We will continue to break new ground in the media landscape with MTB content and having Cam on board is an absolute no brainer! - Julian Coffey, Pinkbike Publisher

Pinkbike is excited to have Cam Zink on board for 2014, and can't wait to see what he comes up with. If you have any suggestions about what you'd like to see from him this season, fire away in the comments section below.

 zinkbike nation........
  • 7 0
I'd buy that shirt pretty fast, even if it wasn't a V-Neck or 3/4 sleeve. But if it becomes a shirt, I want 3/4 sleeve.
  • 5 0
I want every shirt to be a 3/4 sleeve, as well as jerseys, but that's just me.
  • 2 0
Exactly, my sharp elbows need all the padding they can get. Zinkbike for president!

You fired the first shot by printing Zinkbike.com. Time to buy the domain and get a site running!
  • 2 0
haha. Im a graphic designer Wink Ill leave the rest up to you and ill do the artwork for it.
Good luck though! Big Grin Maybe it can be Cam's official site
  • 1 0
I am in 100% on this idea. It's excellent.
  • 3 1
So not to be a Debbie Downer, but @EvokeMedia: You're making money off the name of a guy who just had a kid, at the same time when there's been a bunch of conversation about how he doesn't get paid enough for his job. I want a zinkbike shirt, but I want Zink to make a dollar or two off it. Sorry man.
  • 3 0
And being a graphic designer is my job, I don't make enough off of it. Maybe I just had a kid and need the money. Pinkbike or Zink arent going to be making them, so this is your only way. If you want my to send half my profits to him, then I will forsure try my hardest to get in contact with him to do so. I agree with you that he should make some off of it. But its not anything official, and I made it because you all wanted it.

So what is he hanging his bike on in that middle bit of the photo above?

Mr Zink has an iron penis ?

 Surely it's carbon.

There was too much badass in one area, so the Earth just decided things like levitating bikes should happen to make it better
  • 1 2
I suppose it is too unfunny to say it is resting upon his thigh and hip and held in place with his foot on the pedal.......
  • 2 0
he threw it in the air and held out his arms...Who knows but I think Bigburd is right...
  • 3 0
My comment is completely void, thought you were talking about the one with the TLD shirt on, I never saw that one just above -_- ermagurd
  • 26 2
Yeeeeeah Zink! Stoked to have you aboard.
  • 21 2
Does he have it in his contract that he needs to comment under random articles from time to time?
  • 2 0
Why? So you know he might be reading your posts? But seriously, the contract states that he only has to comment on the Waki Leak articles.
  • 2 3
No, I'd just like to see how long does it take for people to get familiar with him so after a honey moon of being impressed and full of admiration they start to negprop him and throw troll crap at him - A psychological / sociological experiment... oh wait they already did when the news of the Hyper at Wallmart came out... wait - I threw some shyte at him myself... sorry Big Grin

Duh, "We're not worthy, we're not worthy". Yes us, PB!

Last september in Hafjell I fulfilled my dream: I was standing by the side of the track and I was heckling the top riders (Old Polish race tradition). I shouted "let go of those brakes" at Peaty, "Stop braking you pussy" at Greg Minnaar... that was fantastic...

Always stoked to see anything with Cam involved in it. Also stoked to see that last pic of him at the "local spot".
  • 7 2
Well it's official, Pinkbike now covers everything, including the kitchen Zink. I look forward to reading his articles.

Its was crazy to see back in the day what Palmer did with his bike and there has been many more , but this guy has the total package and is bringing the biggest stuff to the table. Time is short but if he does this like he rides, We will all follow for many years! just like Fisher. I believe its time for that new face and I think its here now! At least with true MTB! meaning all of it, he is very well rounded. And he picks the little guy to ride for not the huge market name brand which is awesome. If Huffy made a MTB, I would bet money he would rock it ! I mean did any of us ride that brand he was on ?
  • 5 0
Awesome! Zink is one of my favorite riders.
  • 1 0
WTF? Ohhhhhhh, now it's "official"!!!!! I get the difference now!!! I was all, "Zink is partnered with Zinkbike? No f*cking shit, everyone's known that for like, years!!!!"

"Pinkbike is excited to have Cam Zink on board for 2014, and can't wait to see what he comes up with." - Probably a back flip or a 360 over/off of something with a bunch of hype poured on top. :/

"If you have any suggestions about what you'd like to see from him this season, fire away in the comments section below." - OK, you asked for it. How about something besides a flip or a 360? How about a professional level of respect for all of the newer generation of your peers, most of which ride at a level that you can't possibly keep up with? If you try to win another contest by only flipping or spinning the biggest thing on course & you actually win, how about giving your trophy/prize to the guy beside you who actually deserves it? How about just being happy that you're fortunate enough to make any sort of living just by riding a bike in the right places at the right times?

Good luck dude. I think you're gonna be needing it more & more in the coming years.
