Does this one include shipping to Europe? And if it does, will it fit our tow hitches? Obviously, I'm not going to win, even though I could really use this prize... But one of my fellow Europeans might!
  • 5 0
Even if it is being shipped to Europe, will you be allowed to use it here? There are safety regulations for these things.
  • 9 0
@BoneleSS: nope. But have you seen anyone's rack being checked by the police? Big Grin
  • 1 0
it will not fit our tow hitches, but still I want it as this type of bike mounting is superior than allowed in EU in my oppinion as you dont have to clamp the arm to the frame which is sometimes hard with fullsuspension frames.
  • 1 0
@Demiourgos: Have indeed never seen them being checked before and the tow hitch is different indeed! Clamping the frame is a bad idee though... there are several that can clamp the seat post which is way better!
  • 1 0
@Demiourgos: if you’re going to get done it would more likely be for the lack of lights and number plate. Nothing that couldn’t be sorted by getting a board and a few cable ties though. Now just need to figure out that hitch....
  • 2 0
@mashrv1: looks like I'm the UK at least, these guys could sort you out: www.watling-towbars.co.uk/import_vehicle_towbars.html
  • 1 0
@mountainsofsussex: good find, will have a proper look later, unfortunately this bit jumped out at me though “ Additionally, US 2" and 2 5/16" towballs are not Type Approved and should not be used in conjunction with Type Approved vehicles”
  • 1 0
@mashrv1: I guess "bad things" could happen if you hooked a 50mm trailer hitch up to a 2" ball or vice versa. But I guess a 2" square receiver for a bike rack would be fine as long as you added a suitable number plate/light board. Gotta be more secure than the straps going under the bumper and over the hatchback that I currently use!
  • 1 0
@mountainsofsussex: nothing better than seeing a car driving around with several straps swinging in the breeze!

Very true about tow versus rack though
  • 2 0
I wouldn't worry about the shipping! It's of no use to us here in the UK as it doesn't have a lightboard and number plate holder that is required by law due to fact that the bikes when mounted will at least partialy obscure the lights and number plate. An no, it won't fit a standard European tow bar.
  • 2 0
@wythall1: the hitch is a problem. But a light board is cheap. A decent rack isn't cheap. Actually, even a 5h!t rack isn't cheap...
  • 3 0
@mountainsofsussex: Fair comment! In the unlikely eventuality that the winner of this item is from this side of the pond, maybe PB should just give a winner a Thue rack, all problems solved! Big Grin

Love the products, hate the name... Kuat, sounds like something that should be done in private before the ride or the occasional sounds heard on friday fails

I love my Kuat V1 Transfer 2. Cost $300. Fairly light but solid where it counts. Great warranty/service(had to replace a small part and they sent one out quickly). It has basically been on the back of my Honda Element for 2 and 1/2 years. Thanks Kuat.

Oh man, could definitely use this! Over the Summer I got rear-ended and my rack was damaged. Turned out the other guy gave me false insurance information so there's nothing I can do about it :-(

Echoing other responses, this is one that I could actually use. The others have been more like nice to have luxuries. 3 days left! 3 more chances for some mysterious other person to win! 3 more chances for me to lose!

I really want this one. My last rack pooped out in September and l don't have much money to replace it. Hopefully this drawing will he in my favor.

I've been really happy with my old NV 1.0 model, but the 1233mm wheelbase on my trail bike barely fits, hopefully it's wider with this model...

I just got a new car and I need a rack so badly! These things are so expensive, but so nice. Fingers crossed on this!

This one is exactly what I need!

Just Googled ''European tow hitch'' ...

WTF IS THAT SH*T???
  • 1 1
Agreed. Maybe I'm too used to the massive diesel bro-dozer tow rigs we have everywhere here but that just looks like it would snap off with little effort.

I think Adam & Eve sells those
