I think we need to start a fundraiser for Nico... poor guy obviously can't afford to replace his front tyre so opts not to use it... He's got the potential to be quite good if he did.
This MTB stuff is super funny.
Any kid who spends prolly a yr riding BMX can 'blast' tabbaggons, and manual around. Within the first week they learned how to skid and turn left and right.
If you do that on a MTB, you're pro.
Dylan Stark couldn't have come up at a better time.
@Hogfly: just saying that what is over exposed and propped up in MTB is at times pretty basic stuff, albeit on a over priced bike, which I guess is the point anyway.
So yup I think I am saying that launching off a no-lip jump doing a turn bar, followed by some skids, then a turn then a brake-heavy manual followed by a skid, is pretty basic.
It's cool. BMX went thru the growing pains of 'all flash' and low skill. There's still time for MTB to come around
@jjwillTOmaui I'm not sure here, but maybe these guys are going just a touch faster and hitting bigger features aka moto jumps. No discredit to the BMX crowd (aside for the lack of a helmet being all too common), they throw some mad tricks, but no one is watching Nico Vink for his barspins/tailwhips. He is not a pro because he can 'blast' a t-bog. He's a pro because people like me absolutely LOVE watching him effortlessly, yet blisteringly, flow down a trail. Whips and t-bogs are a bonus but the manuals are second to none.
Nico is a legend not only because he sends the biggest lines considered feasible by modern standards but in his unique vision for building the sickest lines and dreaming up the best ride events. Perhaps most importantly, he’s ties everything together to make them happen.
Sorry for the sketchy rock fingers. But METAL!
