That picture is so sick man, I feel stupid for not visiting the North Shore, considering I live on the West Coast. This picture is really motivating, and I cant wait to check those trails out this summer. Props to the photographer and you for inspiring me to get out there. Thanks
mad-mk66: Tried to ride pipeline on the weekend. It was knee deep snow the whole way up the fire road... needless to say, we only made it up to the second switchback before turning back.
what the fuck. Whats with the neg props. I don't live in Canada, I love to ride, I love Seasons, I love that section. I just want to know if thats that trail. I can then put that pic in perspective and really get what the rider is feeling right there.
Speshallday, pretty sure Shandro does not ride Pipeline but a trail visually quite similar. His segment has lines from all over the Shore, Squamish and Bowen island and probably some other spots as well.
Pipeline is a fun trail for sure. I've ridden it once and filmed it and had a hoot of a ride. Definitely a beginner trail by "Shore standards", but fun nonetheless.
Love that trail, so much fun. Nick geddes....i remember that name, second or first at canadian open right? Props on that! Props to the builders, props to the rider, props to the photographer!
This is a beautiful rock roll...Great pic! Now try it covered in snow! I rode it just before the Christmas dump with a good 6 inches of snow and it was crazy! Certainly takes the level of difficulty up a notch! Fun
nope the trail that shandro was filmed on was top end of the cbc trail on seymour and this trail pipeline is on frommme its classfied as a blue-single black trail its pretty easy and fun
awesome pod choice today keep it up there many more sick shots with awesome riders and great photography still out there props to the photographer who took this one and to who made that trail it looks awesome
that thing is much fun! they could easily put a tranny at the bottom of the last role so you could gap it. buuut those rollers are just as fun awesome pod!
im pretty sure thats part of the trail shandro rode in seasons to bullet and a target, cause it says this trails on the north shore and thats where he rode
Ima upload my new edit... It's short but I think its VOD worthy... same shot as me hitting the tree, then me ripping some turns, then me nutting myself!
haha, photography tarts get such bad rep for giving a shit about how a picture looks.
your right man, but itd have to be pretty low power to riders lower right. rim lighting would look amazing here imo, and wouldnt take away from the natural lighting.
I dno man, you've just got to plan where the rider is going to be. This is probably the best rim lit shot I've ridden, and it didnt take too long to get right. That said, Ive never taken a rim lit shot myself so I dunno how much effort is required as far as setting it up goes.
Yes theres a flash to camera right, and theres a flash directly behind me ie. Rimlit - Hence the pop and the glow around various parts of my arm, legs, bike etc.
^^^What are you on about, this POD isn't that good. The shot is not clear and the riding is nothing special. All you can see of the trail is that rocky descent...hardly a ground breaking bit of trail design!
looks like a POD according to the newsflash they had on POD's. id say its a nice picture even, what with one tree close and one tree far away, and you jealous cause you aren't in a POD.
soo, you PAVE the trails in the FORREST, and ride them with "sick" LONG TRAVEL downhill bikes, and you call that "gnarly" and "rad". that is kind of gay dont u think ?!!? hey, girls, come over to europe, we'll show u how to ride off-tarmac....
Um, yeah, no one called this trail gnarly or rad. Everyone has plenty of beginner trails- look at the publicity around Whistler and it's 'paved' trails. The 'Shore has some gnarly trails for sure.
danietto, the pic really does that section no justice. It's a "three hump stonework roller coaster" that's nothing short of artwork to be seen, especially going down it. I know what you mean from the pic, but that section, to remain in it's current form and not have to be rebuilt every other month, could be constructed no other way, really.
Man, you know mountain biking's come a long way if PL is now a beginner trail...still probably my favourite shore trail.
