SixSixOne Reset Helmet - Eurobike 2017

SixSixOne were a huge name in protection earlier this decade, but have been quiet on the new product front recently, but the Reset hopes to, err, reset that. I have been a big fan of the Recon helmet over the last few years and is generally my first choice when heading out for a trail ride.

The Reset helmet is 661's first full-face helmet that isn't an open mold design. Aiming to satisfy the riders on a sensible budget, the Reset will sell at €99.99. Tundra White, Midnight Black, Matador Red, and Tropic Orange are the first four colors available.

Three different shell sizes combined with differently shaped padding offers a total of seven sizes ranging from XXS–XXL, that all have a large sculpted port for spacious goggle placement. The ABS shell has multiple vents to keep air flowing and conforms to full-face safety standards.

If you crash on your head it helps a lot to have a helmet on, at least in my experience.

You will only need kneepads when your knee hit something accidentally.

@chyu: in this case, it's actually spelled 'kneed'

Nice cheap helmets! I wonder if you can remove the plastic grid in front of the mouth .. I remember removing something similar on my first Kenny helmet, and it did help a LOT to breathe

I'd put some lipstick on there and maybe get some kisses in the lift line

Unfortunately the mouthpiece is not removable on the current model. We are definitely looking at ways to improve the helmet for next year, and your suggestion is noted!

Woulda looked better with a matte white pearl. But that's just me. LOL! Nice looking lids though.

@onemanarmy I think the Matt black looks good but instead of the grey 661 and mouth piece they should have done it in gloss black. Still a nice lid for the price point!

How come the CreamSicle coloured one gets cool tropical flowers, while they couldn't even afford glossy black paint and/or maybe some skulls for the "matte black is so 2014" model

Generally the 'crazy' design picks up less sales, but gets more media attention. Typically brands will always have a more 'out there' colourway in their lineup, but plain black with no detail will always sell 2-3x the amount of units because 'most people' prefer the more basic designs.

Strait knee was a game changer. I have the originals still in my bag just in case. They're shot and the mesh on the back is now fairly useless at this point, but if I forget pads, they're waiting to go back into battle

i thought from the thumbnail we were getting integrated sun visors like motorbike lids, or that kali commuter helmet!

The 661 Comp is one of the best vented helmets on the market. But this Reset looks a lot hotter.
  • 5 0
I prefer the 7idp M1 or the Urge Drift to the 661 Comp. But that may just be me.

@YouHadMeAtDrugs: They are all the same helmet aren't they?

@poah Motivation to go faster and also make that cold beer at the bottom of the hill taste sooooo much better!
  • 2 0
word on the blurb is that its not as hot as it looks. Good air circulation over the top of your head.

Is it me or do those 2 long vents above the orange vent look like nostrils and a nose in the middle
  • 3 1
Noooooo thanks......that helmet will be way too hot Frown
  • 1 0
Hey BikeBike69 We've designed the helmet to channel circulation right through to the back of the helmet. We found that with vents placed at the top, the airflow will enter above the goggles, and vent straight out the top of the helmet, leaving the back of your head still just as warm. Our intention with this venting design is that the air gets pulled through between the goggles and top of the eyeport - and then through to the exhaust vents at the back of the helmet.

I own both a sixsixone helmet and a tld helmet, good bang for buck helmet but wow i cant beleive how uncomfortable it is after wearing a tld one i can't wait to take it off!
  • 2 0
 Hey andydhteam

Sorry to hear that you don't think your existing 661 lid was comfortable. We've designed this helmet to be worn for a full days riding. Hopefully it can provide as much comfort as your TLD without the $400+ pricetag.

Constantly looking for better ways to hit my head really hard, thanks 661!

 Hey Kramz,

Glad to be your #1 choice for protecting your head whilst hitting it really hard. Stay safe!

No vents? Storm trooper inspired design? Aww man..
  • 1 0
What's wrong with stormtroopers? I'm partial to biker scouts myself.

@choppertank3e: Well, nothing. As long as if I don't look like one of those darth vaders troops then maybe this will be my replacement helmet for next season.

Just sitting and waiting for november to buy new helmet after conclussion.
  • 1 0
What graphic do the others have on the back?
  • 1 0
Yo Choppertank3e, The other three designs have a continuation of the highlight colour on the back panel. Keep your eyes posted on the SixSixOne website for full images in the coming weeks....
