@Svinyard: I use that trick! Don't think it works for tyres though! I always bring a spare tyre on trips so I don't get stung with bike park/trail centre prices for a maxxis minion I could have got at home for half the price!

@ricochetrabbit: I get the mullet bike thing, I'm a short arse and hate buzzing my bum but having to have to bring two spare tyres of different sizes on trips is a pita.. What's wrong with a small front tyre/wheel for non racers?!?

Don't forget "lost travel" at full extension may still result in your sag measurement being the same when under load... As in 170mm of travel that's dropped to 165 under neg pressure may still end up at the same sag point as a 170 fork, so you don't "lose" anything

@forkbrayker: planning on doing so! I'll be going via Jtech for squishy bits as well because custom tuned marz stuff is cheaper than everything else out there and will work better for a lightweight like me! I fall through the cracks on govt. help at the moment unfortunately so my savings are for paying mortgages before bikes!
