"We'd already done an edit last year ( In the steep of Bourg Saint Maurice I) that's very close to this spot. Since this summer I live in the ski/bike resort of Les Arcs/Bourg Saint Maurice. In this video I show you another way to get down to catch up with the funicular of les Arcs. This is what I ride everyday pretty much. STEEP trails. I love the steepness and trust me it is! I hope you can see these spot for yourselves one day. Sometimes you almost have to sit on your rear tire...I had a lot of fun doing this edit and riding down the trails over here. I hope you will enoy watching it. Cheers."

Awesome vid!! I rode some off trail serious steeps with Vincent in Whistler a few years ago. We fresh tracked a few serious pitches free riding down through the trees...we both crashed medium hard on a couple of the outruns flipping through the woods, but we also went back up and rode a couple scary lines too!! He is not afraid....with a big smile the whole time!

Les Arcs is an amazing place to ride. This video only just touches on what is there. There's tons of really technical singletrack descents, some great fast descents, and plenty of steep stuff. There's not much that needs a DH bike there and actually a lot of of it a DH bike would be more of hinderance. An Enduro style bike is perfect for the place, as long as you've got your big rotors and heavy duty tyres on.

100% agree with you! Ibis Mojo HD, dual ply minions, shimano ice tech 200mm front 180mm rear perfect! Bliss!!!

I visited les arcs/bourg saint maurice last month. It was blazing sunshine when we arrived then the next morning when we were due to ride it was a torrential rain storm.

Yep, I was there in June and you can see some pretty awesome looking trails heading through the forest when you're on the funicular. I'm bummed that I only had one day to ride, so went for the bike park. This looked pretty sweet, although I also think that trail might have been a bit much!!

that trail was way out of my skill zone but cool to watch. theres so much cool stuff to ride in france. my roadtrip took 18 months to plan. i wish i had more cash and another month or 3 to see more of it

Ah, so do we call this "all mountain" then? Ok, I think it fits for that generic term. Sweet vid. Killer bike. Love the paint. Rippin' riding too.

Just for future trip planning purposes: are these trails part of the Les Arc bikepark and accessible to the public or are these local secret spots?
  • 1 0
Secret-ish. Definitely not marked bike park ones!

Hm, ok, thanks for the info though!

There are also several persons organising guided weeks around this place,... I know two sort of offers - one is more about such "less know secretish" trails, other is more for park-oriented crowd. I was last year there with the "first-type" guides and it was fantastic,... I would only say that it is MUST visit place. BTW all trails are marked in old school maps, I saw dedicated shop in Grenoble selling tons of this geo-maps for all possible places in French alps. Although, not every trail can be ridden, some places were scary,.. Another fact is that the riding level of many local MTB people is insane and beyond imagination of people living in other place with "smaller" mountains or hills,

Wheres the trail? All i saw was someone shredding down the side of a mountain

Love the edit! Is this secret tracks or open for everyone? Trail-maps anyone? Smile

All the best trails in Les Arcs/Bourg are not part of the bike park or marked on maps. Thing is, they're not so secret, just ask around and there will be more than a few kind souls who will show you the way...
