I’d love to see another angle of that near-death finish
(Jun 3, 2019 at 9:18)
I need to see that from a different angle as well, holy crap
(Jun 3, 2019 at 9:42)
Some ones gotta have some track side footage out there?
(Jun 3, 2019 at 9:44)
The GoPro footage should be worth it too. Lets hope it gets published somewhere
(Jun 3, 2019 at 9:56)
: I thought it was gonna be another Remi Thirion crash finish. That’s was some scary sh*t!
It would have had to be dubbed the French Finish.
(Jun 3, 2019 at 10:34)
Fucking hate watching that clip of Remi's crash, it's pretty much your worst night mare while in the air !
(Jun 3, 2019 at 11:29)
: That and a narcoleptic pilot.

(Jun 4, 2019 at 11:44)
: is he even covering both brakes?
(Jun 6, 2019 at 9:52)
: Hell no...last thing he wants to do right there is even tap that front brake!!!
(Jun 3, 2019 at 9:31)
100% Thought his tyre had gone in the woods but watching back now maybe it was just water hitting the Rotor?
(Jun 3, 2019 at 9:45)
i think he punctured but it sealed up right away. ive never heard of water hitting a rotor and flashing to steam like that.
(Jun 3, 2019 at 9:53)
: seems like it though, it's exactly when he hits the puddle with his rear wheel. Can't see why not, his brakes surely can be over a hundred degrees c
(Jun 3, 2019 at 10:03)
I also think its the rotor, it would have been an important ammount of sealant if that were the case...
(Jun 3, 2019 at 10:30)
Yeah Im pretty sure it was the rotor, but man that thing must have been hot to flash that much steam like that. Wowza
(Jun 3, 2019 at 12:33)
It was water hitting the brake rotor saw it frame by frame.
(Jun 3, 2019 at 13:40)
: You ever grab a rotor mid run? I made that mistake once and it melted the glove to my finger.
(Jun 3, 2019 at 14:16)
: absolutely the rotor. Doesn't take much to make steam when you hit a puddle.
(Jun 3, 2019 at 17:15)
: Flash boiling occurs when a surface is around 250C. I'd say that's pretty hot, although it may not take too much braking at those speeds. It's more impressive than anything else!
(Jun 3, 2019 at 21:40)
: Very impressive. Never seen it caught on film like this before!
(Jun 4, 2019 at 1:29)
Definitely the rotor
(Jun 4, 2019 at 1:59)
Correct link to the image...
(Jun 4, 2019 at 7:12)
: video of the exact same thing happening to a friends brake rotor:
There a reason Shimano uses all those weird cooling things and everyone else uses DOT fluid. 250 is nothing! try dripping some water on you rotor next time you finish a longer run, it'll sizzle for sure.
(Jun 3, 2019 at 9:40)
Finn's face at the end was what 1000's of people were doing watching that finish, including me. Awesome race!
(Jun 3, 2019 at 10:29)
Just getting into MTB. If this doesn't get you stoked for the sport then nothing will. Badass!
(Jun 3, 2019 at 23:33)
Welcome to the family.
(Jun 3, 2019 at 13:54)
crazy fact: when Rob Warner thought the tire of Pierron blew, it was just steam from the hot disc when splashing trough the puddle. Crazy heated brake - no wonder they ride 220mm discs now!
(Jun 3, 2019 at 21:05)
Nah I don't think Pierron actually used his brakes lol
(Jun 4, 2019 at 11:47)
Might be one of the wildest runs I’ve ever seen. What you need to do to win a World Cup these days is absolutely disgusting.
(Jun 3, 2019 at 9:30)
(Jun 3, 2019 at 9:37)
It did totally look like he blew his tire off eh
(Jun 3, 2019 at 9:26)
That last squash was almost the end of him. That was Unbelievably fast!
(Jun 3, 2019 at 12:24)
Well deserved win for Pierrion. Such a complete rider, laying down the power at every opportunity then riding the raged edge on the techy sections. Maybe its just the tight pants that get those extra seconds
(Jun 3, 2019 at 9:55)
Pierron is such a beast! Wild finish.
(Jun 3, 2019 at 11:22)
couldn't watch live-red bull player kept crashing on me...at least i can watch now. amaury's finish was unreal
(Jun 4, 2019 at 9:52)
Last jumps pucker factor was over 9000. If you'll excuse my I have to remove my chair from my buttocks.
(Jun 3, 2019 at 14:56)
Holy shit that was nail biting.
(Jun 3, 2019 at 10:53)

(Jun 4, 2019 at 1:58)
: it was just a tickle
(Jun 3, 2019 at 15:51)
@5:30...... reboumd dampening 1 click slower. Sick runs!
(Jun 3, 2019 at 23:49)
He was still pedaling over the kick, the tire rubbed his butt throwing him forward.
(Jun 4, 2019 at 6:58)
: good eye brother, I watched it at least a dozen times and couldn’t see that. Champion run for sure!

Epic racing and Rob's commentary is excellent, just a shame Claudio lets him down. When will we have Gee with Rob...
(Jun 3, 2019 at 10:53)
When I watch the pros, it seems like they are participating in a different sport than I am. I was surprised to get that same feeling comparing the two winning runs. This impression is supported by the fact that nearly all of the elite men, and nearly all the juniors, beat Rachel's time easily. It doesn't seem to me that physiological gender differences fully explain this huge gap. What are the other factors?
(Jun 3, 2019 at 11:12)
of course it comes down to physical differences between a male and a female. men are far stronger so can handle a faster moving bike. its that simple. however these are the top level men and women. Rach would beat pretty much every average male rider easily. i know some very fast guys who have ridden fort bill with times just under 6 mins. until you ride with a pro level rider you can't appreciate how fast they are. male or female.

: HIDE THE QUESTION. QUESTIONS ARE BAD AND THEY HURT PEOPLE'S FEELINGS. OBVIOUSLY WE ALL KNOW THE ANSWER TO THE QUESTION SO WHY WOULD ANYONE NEED TO ASK IT. HIDE THE QUESTION.
