Video: Remi Gauvin Tests Medium & Large Size Frames Back to Back
I find it hillarious that average sized folk upsize to XL (like up to 182cm/6ft or so tall) and they're obviously riding too big of a bike but will do everything to claim it not so. On the other hand people who are 190cm or more can't do anything but ride XLs that are terribly disproportionate with very short head tubes and chainstays. How is it possible to have let's say Medium bike with 100mm head tube and 450mm reach with 435mm chainstays made for someone who's 170cm tall and XL bike with 120mm head tube, 490-500 reach with same 435mm chainstays made for a 20cm taller person while keeping the chainstay the same, head tube only 2cm longer so most of the tall folk have to run a lot of spacers not to have gigantic saddle to bar drop that's uncomfortable further shortening the reach and pushing the weight back so climbing sucks even more due to ridiculously short chainstays and weight being shifted all the way back.

Field Trip: Marin's $2,849 Rift Zone Is An XC Bike at Heart
@Balgaroth: Apparently Norco greased the PB well to get good review. I mean, every bike magazine/website has some favorites and if you check reviews it turns out that.... *Gasp* all bikes are pretty good which is probably the case and differences between them are minor.

Field Trip: Giant's $2,500 Trance X Loves Slow Speed Technical Trails
@nickjaco19: German bike magazine measured 129mm and they're very detailed. I have also lengthened the stroke to 45mm (from 42.5mm).

Field Trip: Giant's $2,500 Trance X Loves Slow Speed Technical Trails
As a Trance Advanced Pro (non X) owner, I was eager to give it a try but I can't get the framw only option and paying 3k euro for shitty components and suspension doesn't appeal to me. I've "X-ified" my Trance by giving it a long travel treatment and couldn't be happier. My Trance has Pike 140mm up front and DVO Topaz 2 with approx 130mm of travel rear (stock 115mm figure isn't correct). Head tube angle is around 65.5 degrees and seat tube is steep enough while the bike is still featherweight at around 12.5kg. I'm also toying with an idea of trying angle adjusting headset to bring the HTA to 64 degrees and STA to around 75. In the end this bike cost me 3k euros with top notch suspension, carbon frame and wheels and great dropper post. Today, I'd be lucky to get Trance X2 for that much...

Nino Schurter Now a Bosch eBike Systems Ambassador
This is like Valentino Rossi marketing a Vespa. With the difference that Vespas actually look decent and not like some construction scaffolding after an earthquake in a steel mill.

Review: Silt AM 29 Alloy Wheels
@conoat: I assemble the wheels myself - quite easy and takes 1h maybe (but it's definitely good idea to use either locking nipples or drop of thread locker) and buy a beer or pizza for a shop mechanic to finish them on a truing stand. It's 10-15min job for him. Majority of time that takes to build a wheel comes from menial labor threading spokes and screwing nipples.
