I've been working with Red Bull ever since I was a Junior, but I never really felt like the helmet would be in reach considering Rachel [Atherton] is still on the top of her game, so I can't put in to words how humbled I am. It's so heart warming to know that Red Bull support and believe in me and want to put their brand to my name. I'm honoured to finally be a branded athlete, it's a childhood dream come true! - Tahnee Seagrave, Red Bull athlete |

But if redbull is all artificial then they must take all the bad shit out right?
[/font=sarcasm]
You all know that without red bull there would be even less acknowledgement or acceptance of dh especially. The goal isn't to keep it a secret sport for a select few who have found out about it. Following that route means people make less money and makes it harder to get around the world to events, thinning competition out and becoming boring. But, I guess not having a big bad energy drink company around would be worth it though eh.
Drink water? Drink whatever the f*ck you want without the snobby attitude.
There are issues, of course - they have their own sports medicine facility in Austria for their athletes, which got some pretty bad press for employing at least one physician involved in East Germany's state-sponsored doping program (note that this is very different from there being any evidence to support allegations about that program actually doing anything illicit). They market a product with some questionable claims that it is an "energy drink" (to the point where at least in the US they got sanctioned by the authorities - but then again, Pom Wonderful and Nutella got stuck with the same sorts of sanctions, and it's not like reasonable consumption of Redbull has been shown to have harmful health impacts).
I'm glad they're out there, sponsoring sports I love. I'm glad they're providing sponsorship opportunities for athletes to push their sports. I'm glad they're providing opportunities for writers, photographers, and all sorts of creative types to produce amazing content (especially at a time when a there are fewer magazines and such shelling out for that sort of work).
Plus I don't see Water sponsoring anyone and growing the sport we love! If you need someone to tell you to drink water because it's better for you than Monster, Redubull whatever; please send me a direct message with your parent's address included so i can throat punch them for raising a complete dolt.

If it has 'TW' on it, it's water
and in fairness, it would not really be considered to be off side if you stated "HE has a GF now so maybe HE will calm down a bit"
Just pointing out the discrepancy of gender dynamics.
Dont drink unhealthy stuff? OK, so don't ever drink a beer either then, hell don't even drink a chocolate milk.
To me that is dumb, just do things in moderation like a normal human, of course drink water and eat healthy it doesn't mean you cannot have a treat every now and then.
And I enjoy a Mountain Dew every now and then nothing wrong with it.
actually it's terrible for you. www.davidwolfe.com/mountain-dew-unhealthy
Besides US Mountain Dew is banned in the U.K. I would still argue that having the occasional fizzy drink will do you no harm.
Of course, I haven't been personally involved in those other sports, but this is just my observation.
Anyone who has ever raced any series as a privateer never mind a world series, knows the challenges and costs incurred to get to the races and maintain your equipment so that it is in race ready condition, it is not cheap, and factory support or aftermarket companies are very helpful in keeping your own costs down so that you can focus on your goals of winning races.

And @plyawn Mountain Dew is one of the worst for having a LOT of sugar and junk in it! Sugar water would be just as good!!!!
But whatever she does she's doing right! With most of the best mountain bike athletes sponsored by REDBULL!!
A bit like trailer trash but with a penchant for fake Burberry baseball caps, tracksuits and a limited vocabulary..
The future will reveal any parallels between big tobacco and energy drinks in action sports
I'm not complaining either. The outside money is good for various fringe sports in general. And RedBull and Monster do a good job of marketing to the rest of the world compared to cringe worthy mountain dew commercials of the past .
Tell me about it, grab your miller genuine draft because it's miller time.
That helmets' mine next year. I'll destroy the whole field.
