@srghyc: Gwin doesn't always skip timed training. When he takes runs he's always one of the slowest. Just one of many philosophies for how to lead up to race day.

Rachel was ten seconds faster than Tracy. Then you look at men's times and they are shaving 30 seconds off of the fastest woman's time. Going as fast as I can I would probably take five minutes to get to the bottom. These people are unbelievably fast! The women and the men. I bet Rachel will get first place but I want Tracy to win this one.

Red Bull probably is playing it safe after his concussion. There´s so much going on about degenerative processes after brain injury these days, it only makes sense to keep him off the track for at least this season and have him heal up properly. It´s no use to anybody if the guy sustains irreparable damage just for our entertainment.
I´ve experienced it myself, a bad concussion is a serious injury and can take you months or even years to properly heal and judging by his interviews since the accident, he is nowhere near back to 100% yet.
My guess is next season he´ll be back.

@Loki87: Agreed. That said, I was surprised to see Dean Lucas back riding again, as I was under the impression he got knocked clean out at Ft. Bill. Hopefully I'm incorrect about that and he "just" hit the deck hard and decided not to race. But if he really was out cold, even for a small amount of time, I'd error on the side of caution and sit this one out too.

I had a friend get knocked out last year for about 10 seconds or so, and while he walking and talking relatively normal by the next day, he was nowhere near ready to safely ride a bike (especially at Mach WTF) even a week later.
