Evan Wall won the Pinkbike Academy a few months ago. Since he has been spending a lot of time getting faster and faster on his bike. I thought that following him down his training trail would make for a cool video, so here we are:
Check out Evan and I on social media: @evan_wall and @remymetailler and wish him luck for the races starting soon!

it's interesting how different people's body positions can be when riding a bike, Remy keeps his knees more straight while Evan has a much wider stance and keeps his legs much stiffer which makes his riding really poppy and playful. Remy is much more loose and flowy looking but less poppy, it's just kinda cool.
Wall has a looser fitting jersey, larger upper body, uses a softer spring relative to his weight, and looks a little out of control. Compare to Kovarik, also followed by Metailler in a recent vid. This trail does not lend itself to 'playfulness,' esp at speed--steep, uneven, treed
We dialled the speed back a bit and were popping around much more than usual on this trail for the video. With the stance, I used to squat and have super wide knees before this winter (can be seen in old videos) but have transitioned to a taller stance for efficiency when I started training and analyzing my riding more!
I absolutely love seeing footage on these fresh and raw trails, this looks like the funnest thing ever to ride. And I think i've said this before in another remy video, but the "getting to know the trail" on the first run then getting to see the 2nd top to bottom is gold, very exciting!
Is he actually going to be doing any EWS racing this year?? I was super excited to see how he did. He and Ben were both excellent riders. That academy series was so entertaining.
At 11:20 Evan came close to hitting those trees on that angled jump and he yelled something as he barely made that jump. Gnarly and fast downhill they're riding in this video. Always appreciate these Remy video's ..... keep em coming buddy.
Remy is the one rider I would hate to have follow me down a run. Talk about having all your illusions shattered while he curses at you in french to hurry the f up.
Although it was nice to see Evan riding, I admittedly came to watch Remy ride that sexy Propain steed. The Propain did not disappoint. I want that bike. Remy was cool too.
@bretttippie: hahahah unfortunately not. But maybe I’ll start telling people that. We were asked to choose a number for our jerseys and I though for a long time on a number and couldn’t think of anything, so I just went with 42 which is in my email I chose when I was 10 or so. Once the jerseys it was too late it popped into my head I should have gone for 54, the number my dad rally and track car raced through his life
Don't even get me started on last season's PBA. No disrespect to Evan, you did great man, but there were a lot of very talented riders taken out by really unnecessary things.
Using all the features of the land with a few made jumps is perfect.
Great riding guys

@ Evan - what is the '42' on your RF jersey all about?
@ElDebarge: Well played
Unlikely that it's re: Ronnie Lott
Answer: 42
