Ain't no mongoose, it's just a Cannondale Gemini in disguise and with some supports... looks good though. Great vid

Why the fuk does mongoose keep tryin???your shit sux,i dont seem to get how they can get legit riders on their team oh yeah i forgot money...i guess selling all those bikes at target and toy r us really paid off...u know its bad when your factory team riders have to be forced to ride other companies bikes with your stickers on it....THE VID WAS BAD ASS AND SO WAS THE RIDING I MISS MOAB!!!!SUX IT HAD TO BE A MONGOOSE VID

Seriously, people need to shut the f**k up and stop slating mongoose. It's a perfectly fine bike company, it's just that people think it's "cool" to hate the brand, just as it's "cool" to hate Kona and Norco (over here in the UK mainly). Steve McCann rides BMX for mongoose, he's amazing. They also have Eric Carter, Andrew Neethling and Simon Tabron who are well-known names. Sure, they all get paid, but a rider is not going to accept sponsorship from a s**t brand who he won't suceed and develop with just because of the money. These companies sell bikes well and put a lot into the sport. The fact that they are more common must mean that they have a better value:spec ratio.
I don't know why Specialized dropped Romaniuk, the video was sweet. Shame we had to dickheads commenting below it.

Oh yeah, Special--ed was soooo goood...That's why nearly everyone who's ever had one knows how the Specialized warantess system works(rolleyes). Go look for a few broken Goose rigs, THEN go look for a few snapped Specialized bikes! And I can't remember the last time I've EVER seen a rider on the podium holding his fuking Specialized over his head, Not gonna happen.
And Steve didn't tun into a pussy, he grew the hell up, some of you kids should try it.
I've ridden Demo 8s and SX Trails for the last 2-3 years, bought a Black Diamond triple last summer and was SOLD. I sold it to make way for an ECD for 2008, soon selling that to get a Pinn'R and a Nugget.
Mongoose for Life!
And "lo rise" bars are for function, not for looks! People who actually RIDE bikes know this. You won't even find a true racer with a bar height over 40". Get with the program chillins...

Well put my man.... You could tell a difference b/w the 4th and 5th seasons of Drop-In that Romo grew up. I think getting dropped from special-ed was the best thing that could've happened to him as a rider.
- + 6
watching Romo ride NEVER gets old. this dude is a PIONEER of freeride, no doubt.
he may not be the best slopestyler (yes i know, i just watched him do a backflip and a 360), but he will go bigger than most flippity-doo-daa riders will.
steve is a true sender, show off those moto roots! ....mad BALLS, mad SKILLS. keep rippin' romaniuk.

At least mongoose is making good park and freeride bikes. Your an Idiot if you believe Mongoose produces only Walmart bikes. That is just half there business. They have always produced high end as well.
AKA. Do you know Fuzzy Hall? If not. You probably shouldn't comment on Mongoose. Keep the Rookie comments to a minimal.
Knoodles, props for knowing yr' stuff.

i don't know why all you people are dissing mongoose? seriously it is not cool to dis other peoples bikes. i mean as long as you have a bike to ride shouldn't that be fine. it's all about having fun and not about what kind of bike you have, unless the bike's frame snaps on you. but seriuosly i bett none of you have ever even ridden a blackdiamond or an ecd.
- + 1
I honestly can't believe Specialized let him go! How can you not re-sign such a amazingly smooth and talented rider? Their loss but personally I think he should be on a better brand than Mongoose. They are good but he deserves his Demo back.
- + 4
mongoose is ok. just becouse they are not famous, all people think that they are junk. but no i had previous year mongoose black diamond and im really happy about that...i rides better that demo and s trail. i tested them all!
- + 9
the thing is though, they are famous. they are notorious for making piece of shit department store bikes which they have been selling in the states for years and years. until recently it was a joke to even see someone riding one, let alone own one. I'm sure their high end stuff is fun to ride, but it takes a lot to change peoples established ideas about a product.
- + 0
I totally agree. I guess I am one of those people though. I will never really like the brand, and you wont catch me riding one but I also don't have anything against them. I bet they make a tone of cash on department store bikes. DH is probably a small amount of revenue. After saything that the bike does look pretty chill and I don't have anything against the people that ride them because I bet they can ride better then me. The video and the song was great.
- + 2
Oh yeah and the department store bikes rake in some good cash for bike shops. They always have pretty cheap parts and are never setup correctly. Then once people see waht a good job you did hopefully they will stop by to get their next bike and skip the middle step of getting it fixed. That is hopefully the age of 16 and the car doesn't suck them away from biking.

Oh, and for all you twits claiming "Mongoose is crap".
Put up ONE SINGLE piece of evidence supporting your claim, or shut your mouths. Just ONE. I can show you 300 trashed Specialized bikes. Let's see ONE busted Pro Mongoose.

People need to do their research and read their history. Mongoose has always been respectable, and always made nice bikes.
Dorel/Pacific has always been a mass-marketer. Dorel bought Pacific Cycles, and in turn Pacific bought Mongoose and GT. That in no way means that GT or Mongoose make crap bikes. It means Pacific (who was already making $100 crap WalMart bikes under the Pacific name) now owns the branding rights to GT and Mongoose and can legally put those names on the Pacific product to use name recognition to sell more bikes. In turn, Pacific's financial resources have allowed for design improvements in both the GT and Mongoose product lines. My friend rides a EC-X, and it is far from being crap, and nicer than half of the bikes in our crew.
Does anyone under the age of 22 understand simple economics anymore?

I think we understand the market, and a lot of us know that Pacific now owns a lot of companies. It was a sad day when GT was bought out. I still love GT bicycles and they still make some good bikes. It makes me sad though to look at department store bike and see that they really are all the same except for the color and the stickers. I also lost some respect for those companies. Now your just getting a Pacific bike with a new paint job. I know a lot of shops that dropped GT Bikes when they were bought out.

Mongoose is one of the smartest companys out there. They make peices of shit, makes millions then funnel a lot of that money into really making their high end shit good. They are a company to look out for in the next few years! Oh yeah Steve YOU KICK ASS!!! He could make a fucking road bike look sick as hell.
- + 1
i guess he did that in one of his videos, i still remember a scene with those 2 road bikers and steve also. lol..
sicksteve inspiration for us all. i want a cheap mongoose pinn'r (because of my budget) maybeits crap but it looks so dope!
it has a domain forks and a van r. had the same on my 08 big hit? broke them both. actually my forks has ahole bcause there was another break system on it . and when it was removed it left a hole probably becuase of te force that was on it... + 100 drops i did. and my rear suspension was broke after atleast 10 drops in the 17ft range and a 50 drops in the 10 ft range wath areyou guy opinions about suspension? suspension migt break after a while. forks need to be strong. frame needsto be strong... internet i so hard for your opinion who do i need to believe...

Both companies are fine. why dont some people understand that mongoose caters to all levels of riding. The cheap bikes are for little kids and beginners. Also for people who ride them for TRANSPORTATION and not for freeriding. Mongoose is a good bike company once you go up the ladder and see their top of the line freeride bikes. Specialized makes bikes for the "expensive taste" rider who has previous experience and rides for fun and not transportation.
awesome vid. Romo is still on top in my book. he throws it down on any bike.
keep it up for '08!

For all the people complaining about Mongoose, they've been around for a long time. Before Mongoose bikes ever showed up in department stores, they were building great bikes. they were more into XC as most companies were back in the mid to late 90's but don't think that high end bikes are new to them. I can't remember why they ever got out of the "good" bike scene but i think they were having financial troubles but i may be wrong on that one. Don't get me wrong though, i don't think they were ever on the same level as brands like Intense, Yeti, etc...
Anyways, check the link below, looks to be around 1997-1998

Keep in mind that GM produces the Corvette..and the the Geo line.
I personally would prob rather have the Geo, but does the fact that they are Geo as well as Chevrolet make the Corvette any less respectable?
Is all about the coins...
And be GLAD that Mongoose makes the low-end, disposeable department store bikes! It's the reason their pockets are so deep and can afford to sell the high-end Corvette versions so cheap! I LOVE Walmart bikes!

I was not sure whether or not Mongoose still made department store bikes. I did some checking on it and found nothing on mongoose.com. However Wal-Mart's website does have Mongoose bikes still. Also, I know that none of you read the article about Mongoose donating to trail work, so here's the link:

steves ridin for mongoose and if their such a shitty brand then why would he be riding for them, he is one of the best riders there is, hes obviously not gonna ride just for the money, hes got tons as it is. theres no need to dis mongoose. just cuz they place bikes in walmart and sportcheck and crappy tire, doesnt mean thats the only bikes they make, that means they make bikes for all levels of riders. their a great company, not the best, but their great.,
