GT didn't have a booth at the Outdoor Demo or inside at Interbike, but they were still there making the rounds. Eric Carter, part of the GT presence...
SDG was also noticeably absent this year at the show, although I did happen upon this display at the ODI booth. Seems like bright colors are in next year...
Cedric was out for the second half of the season with a knee injury he suffered at French Nationals, but he was looking like his usual self at Interbike and promised to be back racing even faster next year.
Sombrio was showing off the 2012 N'FLUENCE short in the new Darren Berrecloth signature colorway.
and also the new Sombrio SHAZAM shoe from the Sombrio Flyer Sol footwear division.
I ran into Anneke Beerten fresh of her World Championships 4X win and she had this awesome special edition Milka bar to give us!
5.10 had a bunch of new shoes on display. This was our first look at the Kestrel, a new All Mountain/XC riding shoe that features a stiff full length carbon shank and a ratcheting strap.
Steve Blick from Oakley gave Danny Hart a nice new Time Bomb 2 for winning Worlds, this thing is sick, full titanium with a carbon faceplate.
It seems that Hudz felt their road lever hoods were best marketed by placing a catchy slogan across these girls chests...
Black Market bikes finally had a finished ROAM to show us, it looks like a pretty sweet AM bike, I can't wait to try one out!
The Diamondback Bikes crew of Eric Porter, Billy Lewis, Kelly McGarry and Kyle Thomas were at Interbike signing posters...
Ryders eyewear celebrated their 25th anniversary with an 80's party. CEO and all around awesome guy Brent Martin cuts the cake...
Giro has a new all mountain helmet named the Feature. It features more coverage than their other trail helmets and also weighs less than a Xar. Pretty impressive!
The Feature comes in a bunch of colors, some bright, some not...
Giro also has a new All Mountain/Trail shoe with a ratchet strap. This is the Privateer, and it comes in a normal and a high volume version for those of you with high volume or wider feet.
I ran into BC biker girl Holly Feniak hanging out at the Cove Bikes booth with a black Hooker. Only in Vegas.
Danny Hart's World's winning Giant was on display at SRAM
Another little thing that isn't really new anymore but is still exciting nonetheless is the Acros hydraulic shifting system.
We first showed you these in detail at Sea Otter this year, and while they're a little pricey for some people, they promise to work incredibly well. Light and incredibly precise!
Atomlab American Series stems designed by Pablo Tafoya. The direct mount stem is flippable and the radial mount stems come in 38mm and 50mm. The radial stems also feature a proprietary wedge system that clamps tightly to the steertube with very little torque . All are designed to fit 1.125 steertubes and 31.8 bars.
At the end of the day I stopped by the Native Eyewear booth for a little bit of beer pong with Chase and Lenosky.
And then proceeded to the Ice Toolz booth for the annual Interbike Tequila Tasting.
we left a few dead soldiers...
A few people have asked about the other stuff that went on in Vegas, you know, the nightlife parties etc. But what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, so there aren't any photos of that...
Dude we have Thebikeshow 20th anniversary at the Nec in Brum at the end if this month. Shit loads of manufacturer stalls, outdoor demo bikes and plenty of hot bike booth birds hopefully. Not quite Vegas but the best you'll get in the uk.
They are actually a Schwalbe prototype tire that doesn't have a name I believe. I think they stuck the riders names on them to shire away from the fact that they are a proto tire.
I want a Blk Mrkt. ROAM very badly... Hell I want alot of bikes badly, but I think the ROAM just jumped to the top of the list alongside of the Scott Voltage FR... What an awesome rig it looks to be. Personaly I think I actually PREFER the tele-seat post to have teh lever under the sadle nose versus the bar mounted controler on most set-ups (although I like the internal routing on some fo the new rigs that DOESN'T HAVE a big loop of cable to bunch up when the seats down - aka it's most used position) just cauze I hate having a set of bars that look like the floor of my 4Runner (read: lots of levers and "stuff") and the whole bunched up cable thingy... ANyway, that ROAM looks TIGHT AS was my original point. I will say though that I actually kinda LIKED the curvy tube set of the original prototype. I like this too, but the swoopy one looked like what Norco WANTED their Bikes to look like (and failed IMO) a few years back, (I'm thinking of like the 09-10 Shore with the neon green and Zombies paint-job and that gen of FR/DH/AM frames) Like I said I still love the new look, but they actually managed to PULL OFF that swoopy look. I wonder if there was any frame strength issues/major differences with the old design versus the more conventional looking new design...
ARRIBA EL TEQUILA & MEZCAL !!! VIVA MEXICO CABRONEEEEEEEEEEES!!!!! A VER CUANDO CHINGAOS VIENEN A MEXICO AUNQUE SEA LAS VIEJAS DE HUDZ Y LAS NENAS DE BC AJUAAAAAAAAAAA!! VIVA LA SEARCH!!!!
those shorts look like they were designed by a 12 yr old in ms paint. That roam looks insanely fun to ride. I wish we weren't so overwhelmed at work and could've made it this year :/
I would love to have like a 5.10 sole with like a normal mtb cycling shoe. Something snug and efficient. Almost there 5.10. Could it look weird? Yeah maybe if done stupid.
you mean, a slim, light non-clip-in shoe that still looks like a cycling shoe, not a skate one? - If so I'm on your wagon!
I would love them to do a barefoot pedalling shoe. Since I bought Impacts Low I dropped SPDs all the way and ride even XC on flats, even on HT. It feels awesome! Such a natural foot/leg movement when pedalling. Smoother stroke and better balance. It also encourages to do more of standing pedalling, which is only good.
loving the color combo.
wantin the atomlab stem, looks sweet!
And yes, i do want to grab them
"Danny Hart"
They're really investing much into this kid. Future of DH.
I wonder how many ppl will break themselves trying to follow his insane style
