Interested in the world of design and manufacturing? Just a reminder, on September 13, 2011, Pinkbike presents the premiere of Gnarly Metal - Episode 2 of the Edge Factor TV series, featuring Mike Montgomery and Casey Groves.
There was plenty to see at Interbike 2010 beyond the new bikes and gear that you'd expect to find and sometimes it pays to do a little exploring. We came across the 4iii booth (pronounced four eyes) and were quickly impressed with their neat heads up eyewear display unit. Inside you'll find a video explaining how the system works!
Is this the final Interbike update? I certainly hope so! I've put together all that remains into one tidy package for you to look through and dream. Inside you'll find photos and info on:

Come in, have a close look, and let Diamonback know how bad you'd like to get your dirty jump building paws on this fun looking machine!
At any give time, on any given day at Interbike, you can run into something super unique, or just really funny. I was taught at year 1 of Interbike to never turn my camera off, as you will end up missing something golden. I have lived by that rule ever since, and it has proven to be very effective.
Without further explanation here is a grouping of random images from Interbike 2010.
You saw the new Truvativ Descendant cranks here on Pinkbike only a short time ago, but we thought we'd take a closer look at the new arms while at Interbike 2010. Inside you can read more about the cranks, as well as listen to the audio to hear all the details!

It really never ends, every where you looked there were amazing parts and cool gadgets on display. One of the biggest advancements on the component side of things was SRAM's all new XX line up. Over at POC everything was looking extra clean - plain and simple, their display was to the point. Jamis and Morewood bikes had some shiny bits to show us all too.
Gravity may have had a small booth but it was filled to the brim with new goodies for 2010. Their new Gravity Lite chainguide looks to be a massive improvement over last year's model, the Gravity Whip Cap takes the steerer tube routed front brake to a new level, and the 777 flat DH bar should be a hit with all the downhillers out there. And how about a 800 mm wide riser bar! Four videos and a load of pictures inside!

Check out some new shoes and components from Shimano, new bikes from Cove, Scott USA, clothes and armor from Mace, and hand built frames from Dobermann Fab.
Last year we had a chance to ride Mongoose's flagship DH bike, the Boot'r, and came away praising it as one of the best off the shelf big bikes that we've ever spent time on. While it always seems to be the DH bikes that get all the attention, Mongoose has an entire lineup of bikes that use the same great FreeDrive suspension. While in 'Vegas we took some time to check out two of their shorter travel bikes, the Pinn'r and the Nugget. The HammerSchmidt equipped Pinn'r is Mongoose's answer to the free ride question, while the fun looking Nugget is a 4" travel mischief machine that is ready for any trouble you want to get in.
Andrew Taylor joined the ranks of Marin bikes late last season and has shown that he's the right guy for the job over the past season with his input and riding skills. The all new Attack Trail with it's 150mm of rear travel has been reworked for 2010 and you can thank Andrew for a lot of it.
This may be the last article from Interbike that is strictly photo based, but have no fears as there are still a few content rich articles coming your way in the following days. It's unbelievable how much cool stuff is out there in our industry, that you just have to spread it out so that it all gets to be seen.
GT had two bikes, both with 6" of rear wheel travel, for us to have a closer look at while in the desert. The first is their 150 mm travel Force Carbon Pro, a light all mountain bike that will appeal to those who like long days in the saddle with some gnar sprinkled in for good measure. The second bike is the Sanction 1.0, a heavier duty 6" bike with slacker geometry and stock parts that include a Fox 36 RC2 fork and HammerSchmidt crankset. Two great videos and loads of pictures inside for you to see the difference in these two 6" mountain machines!
Fox Clothing has a stacked team of riders and an amazing line up of protection and gear to drape them in for 2010. WTB, Mark Weir and Jason Moeschler are the team to recon with when it comes to making All Mountain products for the every day rider. Check out 2 new tires and a saddle from WTB inside,

Shaums March has been with Marin bikes for a number of years now, so who better to tell us about the QUAD XLT 180 series of bike and more specifically the Quake 7.9.
The Quake has undergone a lot of changes and Shaums tell us all about them inside,
Dakine is based out of Hood River Oregon and are making real headway with their new clothing line up. Last year they showed us their line up in it's infancy and I'd say it's a teenager now and really finding itself in the industry. Dakine has a lot of real world clothes that riders seem to gravitate to and really want to wear while riding, heck I'm even seeing some racers hang up their pajamas and put on Dakine gear instead for it's clean look.
Gully wakes up from his late night at the What's Next premiere to go over some of the bangers in the Dakine line up with us,
Cannondale is one of the busiest and most innovative bike companies in our sport today. They are always looking at ways to make things different, never ones to look inside the box, but rather spend all their time out side it making cool products. New for 2010 is the Cannondale RZ One Twenty 1, a 120mm version to last year's very successful RZ 140 platform. The Cannondale Moto Carbon 2 is back for 2010 and has under gone some refinements to further improve its stance among the All Mountain bikes out there.
While Elka is a relatively new name in the cycling world they have been producing high end suspension products in the motorized segment for many years. Well known within the ATV circles, Elka also has a full line of rear shocks for both street and track use, as well as fork piston kits for road racing motorcycles. Now they are taking that experience and applying it to mountain bikes. Elka takes a slightly different approach than other manufacturers when providing customers with their Stage 5 damper, as they do not have a 'generic tune' to fit most bikes. With so many vastly different rear suspension designs that produce varying leverage ratios, as well as differing needs from the actual riders, Elka sees fit to tune the shock for each specific bike and rider. That strategy has already earned Elka a strong following in the short time they have been available as it has brought a semi-custom tuning option to the average rider, and at a very competitive price.
Check them out inside and see why they are a true player in the rear shock after market and OEM spec market,
About a month ago Black Market released a bit of info as well as some pictures of their new Killswitch 4" travel frame. Interest in the new bike was off the charts but there really wasn't that much information to share at the time. Fortunately for you guys we were able to catch up with Carter Holland of Black Market while in 'Vegas to give us the lowdown in his new machine. Inside we have loads of new pictures, as well as Carter on video explaining the new Killswitch!
Race Face Components, Pinkbike.com and Rocky Mountain Bicycles proudly presented the world premiere of rising star filmmaker Aaron Larocque’s What’s Next?, at the first ever live broadcast film premiere and VIP party: Breaker Breaker 09.
Interbike has ended for 2009, but luckily for all you out there in Pinkbike.com land, the content will continue to roll your way for a while. The trade show is just so large that it's impossible to see it all, but we try and what we do gather we want to share with you.
Once you attend the Interbike show you start to appreciate these big name companies even further. You see a fair amount of "cork board" booth setups that feature some lame products, simply hanging off the wall in no organized fashion. However, when you see a booth that features something unique you're more drawn to check out what it's all about. Usually these unique looking booths will feature a unique product, so here is a small batch of photos of products that I thought were cool from Interbike 2009 Indoor Demo.
Click here for some interesting products from Interbike 2009...
Fox Racing Shox has made some important changes throughout their suspension lineup for 2010 by expanding some of their proven technology into other platforms. The 32 mm series of forks will be equipped with the downhill proven FIT damping cartridge for more control and reliability, and the revered Float RP23 should become even more capable with the addition of Boost Valve technology. Inside we'll take a closer look at both of these systems and what they mean to the rider. Put on your learning hat as there are two great videos to watch inside!
In what could possibly be the most bling filled Interbike update in history, we bring you some amazing shiny bits from Intense in the form of their brand new Tazer hardtail and new Slopestyle rig. DT Swiss is in the house as well with their EXC 150 mm carbon fork, as well as some new and exciting carbon and aluminum mountain bike wheelsets, and if you thought Twenty6 products had some amazing pedals before, be prepared to be blown away with their latest and greatest take on the pedal!

The Outdoor Demo is the perfect place for Giro to show off their latest gloves and glasses, with its jagged rock surface and blazing hot sun the new protective goods from Giro seemed perfectly appropriate. Come on in and examine the new DJ gloves as worn by Greg Watts and Jamie Goldman, the updated Xen glove, and the new ladies version, the Xena. If you are still enjoying the sun where you live, or even just want to be prepared for next summer, the new casual glasses from Giro look great for relaxing after a ride.
Looking back at pictures from the first two days at the Outdoor Demo it was clear to see that there was lots more to show you. I know some of you out there would love to learn more about the new 29" wheeled DH bike proposed by Lenz, the new 27.2 telescoping seatpost with remote reservoir from KS, a hardtail from Foes, and Commencal's new Absolut SX slopestyle machine.
While Easton had a small booth at the Outdoor Demo they certainly had it stuffed full of arousing bike parts. Inside we take a closer look at their new AM tubeless compatible (and rather light) Haven wheelset. With a magnesium finish and straight pull spokes, the Havens are one eye catching pair of wheels. On top of the trick wheels, Easton also had the Havoc stem and Monkey Lite DH bar out in the dessert, both with new sharp graphics. If that sounds interesting to you then be sure to check out the pictures and video inside!
Day 2 of the Outdoor Demo is done and dusted, tomorrow we move inside to the great expanse of the Sands Convention Center. There will be lots more to see but for now, have a look at what we came back from the desert with today! Inside you'll find pictures and info on both Yeti's 303 RDH and the new for 2010 ASR5 Carbon all-mountain bike, Banshee's Legend makes another appearance and is backed up by their new Spitfire - do it all bike, X Fusion 6" travel forks, and Commencal's 6" travel carbon swingarmed green machine!
Day One of Interbike's Outdoor Demo went off today at the notorious Bootleg Canyon venue. There was a load of excited riders, tons of bikes, and some cactus to round things out. While there is plenty to come, we are going to start things off with a closer look at a few interesting bikes from friends at Norco.
Inside we cover 7 new bikes for 2010 and video giving you the lowdown on each model.
We are in the desert, where it's sunny and the breeze is blowing - that actually translates to "it's windy as hell and the sun in drying out my skin faster than I can put on sun screen." But we love all the new bikes and parts, so we "suffer" through the elements for all y'all!
Here are some pics to whet your appetites while the rest of the crew builds the videos and features from the desert Outdoor Demo for Interbike 2009.

Santa Cruz bikes are hands down one of the most desired frame manufactures in the world and by looking at the 2009 line up, you'll know why. Since they already have a very versatile stable of frames, it's all about refinements and ground out re-modeling these days. Santa Cruz knows that you can always make things a little better and that riding styles dictate what riders need and want to get out of their bikes.
Take a look inside at the all new Nomad and Jackal and Greg Minnaar's V-10 in picture and videos:
