RockShox have announced a number of improvements and upgrades to their existing product line, including the new Maxle Stealth and revised internals for the Monarch RT3. Further details are included in the press release below.

MONARCH RT3 UPDATES - REFINED PERFORMANCE

Monarch stands for smooth damping in a lightweight chassis, with coil-like performance thanks to its Solo Air spring with DebonAir option. For 2016 Monarch RT3 received some important damper updates, to enhance the shock’s performance and make it perfectly adaptable to each rider’s and ride’s characteristics.
Available: May 2015 (in all standard Monarch RT3 sizes and air can configurations)

NEW COMPRESSION PISTON: MORE CONTROL AND BETTER TRACTION

A redesigned piston reduces compression forces at high-speeds. The increased oil flow results in a smoother feeling shock at high shaft speeds, more control and better traction on the trail.

NEW POPPET VALVE: BETTER LOCKOUT FEEL

An updated poppet valve design with o-ring and riveted shims create a better seal for a more refined lockout feel.

NEW REBOUND CIRCUIT: INCREASED ADJUSTMENT RANGE

Additional beginning-stroke rebound shaft port with dual-taper rebound needle results in increased oil flow for a wider range of adjustment. The rebound range now allows for more precise control over a broader range of riders’ weights.

ONELOC - ONE REMOTE TO RULE IT ALL

The new OneLoc remote provides total control over your RockShox fork at your fingertips. The increased leverage at the bar translates in a smoother and easier actuation. Its countless mounting options (left and right, below or above the bar, tall or standard clamp) make it an ideal companion for SRAM's drivetrain, brakes and RockShox's Reverb remote.

• More leverage at the bar
• Right/left, above/below mounting options
• Forks ship with right-above (left-below) remote
• OneLoc clears a Reverb remote and GripShift in both above and below mounting options.
• Replaces PushLoc remote
• Available: May 2015

MAXLE STEALTH LIGHT AND NARROW

Who knew we could make a thru axle disappear? The new Maxle Stealth offers a light, low profile alternative to Maxle Lite and Maxle Ultimate.

• New, tooled Maxle option available in 15x100,15x110 and 15x150 sizes.
• Weight: 37g – Almost 50% weight saving over a standard Maxle Lite
• Easy installation with an 6mm Allen wrench
• Available as an upgrade for SID, Reba, Revelation, Bluto and Pike.
• Available: May 2015

RS-1 27.5 AND NEW COLOR OPTION - THE REVOLUTION EXPANDS

25 years after the original RS-1, the fork that revolutionized mountain biking, RockShox does it again. A chassis design never seen before, which integrates the fork's steerer tube, crown and legs into a single carbon mainframe. The all-new Accelerator Damper, which combines incredible small bump performance with an ultra-efficient lockout. And Predictive Steering, a reimagined interface between hub and dropouts which enabled us to create an inverted fork light enough for XC racing and stiff enough for trail riding. For 2015 the RS-1 family grows with the addition of a 27.5 model, and a new Gloss White color option.

• Dedicated 27.5” model with 42mm offset chassis in 100 and 120mm travel options
• 29” and 27.5” version both get new color option: Gloss White
• Available: June 2015

Maxle looks good BUT I wish it were orange

 Orangduro Stealth Axle, Bro!

You are in the wrong article then, see the next one!

 Kabush!
  • 1 1
@megatryn Kabush made the Kabolt with Fox not Rockshox
  • 1 0
I know that. It's just that they release basically the same product at the same time and the onomatepoetica of Kabush kinda reminds of ka-boom-tish to underline bikegreece's comment. Guess it didn't pan out as planned in writing Wink
  • 1 0
nothin stealth about orange, though, color options wouldn't hurt sales. There's other brands like Carbon-Ti that make one a few grams lighter and almost 3x as much.
  • 59 3
when thru axles first came out, they required tools, then everyone complained and they used QRs. now we are back where we started
  • 16 1
 Agreed. WTF.
  • 10 3
No we're not back where we started. This is an aftermarket axle, and their forks all still come with tool-free axles. This is just an option that their line-up was missing.
  • 11 0
Bottle cages are back too, I'll be happy if we just stay away from '90s headtube angles.
  • 4 1
except minus the pinch bolts that really make it stiff. Still just an overgrown tullio skewer

really want an updated lyrik or a updated 180mm fork, would be so sick!
  • 9 0
Where are you New Lyrik! I saw a pic of one on Mitch Ropelato's Enduro at the EWS in NZ. Looks great and hopefully we don't need to wait too long to get our hands on it.
  • 2 0
@elsinore is there a picture of this?!
  • 4 1
@ZacMichaelides check out this Vital slideshow. Specifically the video slide of Mitch. Pause at the 15 second mark for a decent close up. Looks like a stealth maxle with a pinch bolt on one side of the casting.

@ScandiumRider interesting! hopefully not too long till we find out!

Awesome @elsinore, thanks. Here's the direct link to the image. It's pretty high res. cdn.mos.bikeradar.imdserve.com/images/news/2015/03/31/1427781512186-1rgs2j17a4t5d-700-80.jpg

Looks a little like the dials are old school Specialized Futureshock fork dials. I'm betting they're bringing back the e160ta? Maybe with Öhlins damper? I'd rather have a Lyrik though...

Here's the old e160ta that came on the Enduro: www.mountainflyermagazine.com/img/upimages/Gear/BIKES/BIKES_2010/Specialized_Enduro/L1020431.jpg

 New bike please
  • 2 1
Yes, I just want to see it on my next bike; within three years Wink
  • 16 6
That maxle thing is cool but I think they should have hade it quick release
  • 3 4
They already have QR Maxles. This one is the ultimate lightweight version.
  • 7 0
Please note how user serviceable these parts are. It's a very important consideration for purchasing to some of us, as being required to spend $200 to send a shock out to get vacuum bled, IFP level set, etc. isn't very appealing.
  • 6 1
This is exactly why I'm buying a monarch later this year. I do all my own maintenance and rockshox is the only suspension company which not only makes it easier to service their products, but also publishes manuals to completely service their products, damper and all. I really would like a db inline but don't want to pay to get it serviced because it needs a special nitrogen fill.
  • 5 1
MORE BLAH FOR YOUR BLAH......AWWWWWESOME! Did'nt the non quick release axle exist before? Wait... that was 20mm. Never mind. At least it's a 6mm. Congrats Sram!!! And those white RS1's look like men's coolots , you know... short trousers...heee!
  • 3 0
Pshhhoooooo.... I was about to get one.... I'm glad I haven't had the money yet, I would be pulling my hair out by now.... I'm gonna definitely wait till May-Jun when these new ones come out....
  • 6 0
calm down buddy, it's just an axle.
  • 5 0
Yeah... I guess I should have specified I was talking about the Monarch RT3 shock. Smile
  • 3 1
With all due respect, what is the point of the 27.5 RS-1? Besides maybe Nino Shurter, what XC racer/trail rider out there even uses a 650b/120mm bike? I just can't see Rockshox selling a whole lot of those at all...
  • 3 0
It might be because they've been wanting to push the RS1 as trail fork as well, this might be better for that segment. honestly surprised there's not a 15x110 version, as it would have all the tire clearance you would ever need for a 27.5+.
  • 1 0
That's a valid point. I still feel that they should have kept it 29er, and gone longer travel (which is probably easier said than done). 27.5 is a good wheel size to cater to, but there's not many of those in the market that run 120mm.
  • 1 0
Having a fork that's 29er only is pretty much a death knell for a product right now, though. 29ers don't be selling(even though I just bought one. But I'm gonna turn it into a 27.5+)
  • 1 0
I'm not sure about that fact @groghunter. It's fair to say that over 75% of big name brands are now 29ers. I'm not siding/arguing with any wheel size, but as far as I have observed, 29ers are definitely becoming the majority of the general MTB market, especially in competitive XC/trail riding that this fork caters to.
  • 1 0
That may be true, but ask any brand what the majority of their sales have been in the last 2 years: 27.5 trailbikes have destroyed niners for sales, so much so that Niner is hurting financially.
  • 1 1
some old fogies myself included still love the 100-120mm 26" bikes... or 27.5 in a pinch
  • 3 0
wait... so 2016 products come out in a month? I'm so confused...and a novice with product releases. How long until new 2016 bikes come out then?
  • 4 1
They should've re-sized the eyelet holes on their rear shocks for better mount life and greater rigidity.
  • 4 1
What is really needed a redesigned hydro lever/button for the reverb. Or redesigned xloc button/lever.
  • 3 3
A chassis design never seen before, which integrates the fork's steerer tube, crown and legs into a single carbon mainframe.

"Never seen before"?

Guess again! They are about 15yrs late to that party!

  • 7 1
Try again. The RAC has a cryofit aluminium steerer vs the Rockshox' carbon integrated one.

flag bansheeripper (Apr 8, 2015 at 16:22) (Below Threshold)
A miniscule difference fof the bold statement of never seen before... the fact is marzocchi and manitou did single piece uppers/crown, and manitou did one piece crown/steerer a long time before crock shox came out with this...
  • 6 0
Not a miniscule difference at all one piece opposed too cryo fitting two different pieces together is very different end product.
  • 1 1
 Alls I'm saying is:

Crown-steerer, been done before.
Crown-uppers, been done before.
So they took the next step of joining all three isn't anything to stop the presses over...
  • 2 0
 I would say it's a pretty impressive engineering.And I don't even like Rockshox.
  • 1 2
You're impressed, I'm not... difference of opinion, big deal. Rolleyes
  • 1 2
 Meh what do you know.
  • 1 2
As I said this shit ain't nothing worth stopping the presses over... so get over it already!
  • 1 1
Well you like choppers sooo....your opinion is null and void.
  • 3 0
we are only 4 months in to 2015 people dont wanna hear that there brand new 2015 stuff is already outdated
  • 2 0
With all the 2016 product releases /updates/ standard changes happening in April 2015, it'll be a miracle if our LBS will be able to sell any of their 2015 stock.
  • 1 0
rockshox and fox are just at war right now with their newer better products. of corse you have to come out with a better shock or fork than the one before but these guys are just battling it out.
  • 3 0
Which bank to allow me credit for paying this material?
  • 2 1
I didn't understand this one "OneLoc clears a Reverb remote and GripShift in both above and below mounting options." anybody has more details on it?
  • 1 0
You can mount it above or hang it below both a standard or grip style shift with no problem with clearance
  • 3 0
 thanks man.
since I saw 2 levers together I thought one could activate or deactivate 2 things at once, and not sacrifice the option to activate/deactivate them separately, the fork and the shock. I would buy something like that.
  • 3 1
Does that mean no new Boxxer's for 2016? So i can buy a 2015 WC w/o ripping my hear off in 2 months?
  • 2 0
 hair*
  • 1 0
When they release the 142 maxle stealth light, I'll buy both... Not quite sure why they'd offer only the front end, but everything in time I guess.
  • 1 0
So RS releases their 15 thru axle with a 6mm hex, and also on the front page of PB, Fox releases their 15 thru axle with a 6mm hex.

Koinkidink? I think not...
  • 1 0
 Thats bizarre
  • 1 0
Finally 110mm front spacing. How have we even ridden on that flexy 100mm spacing all these years? We're lucky to be alive. Picture the puking emoticon here.
  • 2 0
Are they going to make an inverted fork in 160mm and up?
  • 3 1
maxle lite to stealth light.... so it is faster ! Marketing wonders
  • 4 2
Every time I hear another standard from them I lose a little respect.
  • 1 0
 What new standard?
  • 1 1
This go round it's the 15x110. Yes, it's been mentioned before, but that along with the XD driver and the Predictive Steering Hub in the past has me concerned. Just too expensive to keep up with for me dispite the fact it performs well.
  • 2 0
 32mm charger damper pls
  • 1 0
Lookin better RockShox. Imma need that new Monarch for the LTc.
  • 1 2
still don't understand the forks, why would you have the stanchions so close to the ground with no cover? surly they get alot more damage down there?
  • 2 1
 Braaaaappp!!it's moto dude.
  • 1 0
 huh?
  • 1 1
DOES RockShox have a trade up program? Say I want a new RT3 for my 2013 RT3, I pay the offset?

Buehler?
  • 1 0
Nobody does that, it would be a terrible business move. What would they do with your used 2 year old shock?
  • 1 2
That's not necessarily a terrible business move. They could rebuild them and use them as refurbished warranty replacements.
  • 1 0
Would you be happy if you returned a broken shock which was covered under warranty and got someone else's second hand unit in return?
  • 1 0
if it's refurbished then it's not old and shitty anymore. I'm not saying it's the number one choice for a customer, but that doesn't make it a bad business strategy. But after thinking about it, it wouldn't work as well with a rear shock. It would be better suited as a crash replacement for a fork or something.
  • 1 0
oh, rockshox's product come so early!
  • 1 1
 Rock solid! I'm shocked!
