Those slimy corners make me wanna ride so bad. It may have been a bad idea to watch this right before going to sleep when I have a broken bike. Guess it's a morning shred on my moms bike.
  • 20 0
You should fix you bike quietly, sneak out the house, get a torch or something and go do some night time shredding.

 Difficult with a cracked frame...
  • 27 0
Oh yeah, slightly. Trying to weld a frame at 2 in the morning can gather some attention from your neighbours.
  • 26 0
 duct tape is the answer.
  • 4 0
@Davidsym,please don't Tell me your devinci cracked?
  • 5 0
Beter broken bike than broken wrist like in my case =/
  • 4 0
 Yeah, or 2 broken arms.
  • 58 1
 or broken condom
  • 6 0
@Yt-shredder yup but devinci is being super awesome and the new front triangle is on the way.
  • 1 0
 @Davidsym How did it brake?
  • 44 2
The way he opened that banana really impressed me, the riding was solid, but would've been better if it wasn't in Winterberg.
  • 5 1
 What's wrong with Winterberg?
  • 17 0
Braking bumps EVERYWHERE , even in the corners, their´re ony two corners in the whole park with no braking bumps !! And in my opinion , the trails aren´t the best , every trail got a few meters wich are funny, but none of them is fun to ride from top to bottom.
  • 4 0
Sehr interessant. Gibt es ein besser Platz in Deutschland?
  • 5 0
Well, in general a lot!! Some of the trails are fun, but I've never been there for a whole day without getting really bored. But what I meant was that in Germany everyone knows these trails and while he was riding solid and has a nice style , it wasn't that special, if it was a trail that no one knows it would've been way more interesting and exciting.

@medievalbiking: Depends on what you want to do. For DH you should go to Bad Wildbad.
If you just want to ride park, Winterberg isn't that bad, but it's not Whistler either.
Braunlage isn't bad and has the most descent, but I prefer to ride there with my Enduro, because it gets quite flat at the bottom. The Top is wild, though.

 Cheers

I love how loads of Germans say 'funny' instead of fun Big Grin
  • 5 0
Bischofsmais/Spicak are the best parks around!
  • 3 0
@HutchJR: Haha, yeah we somehow learn that in school. I spend 5 month in Canada as a student and was really confused about that when I arrived there, took me weeks to stop saying that!
  • 9 0
Maybe those few meters are really funny? Big Grin

 Best way to ride Winterberg?

take a shorter travel bike Wink

I took my Banshee Rampant (100mm 4X) and found the entire park a blast to ride

ep1.pinkbike.org/p4pb3530643/p4pb3530643.jpg

100mm of travel makes the trails feel "alive" whilst I could see a DH bike damping the experience to the point of blandness

Winterberg is fun though.. but since the mounain is rather a hill.. the trails are a bit short.
But still I have to admit that this place is perfect for some shredding with buddies.
And the breaking bumps... they´re not that horrible... it´s fine Wink

 @EinLurch

I'd been to whistler 3 times before Winterberg but gotta say it was a rad bike Park super close by air to the UK compared to Canada. Real nice for an affordable 3 day vacation.

I really liked the mix of trails and the stunts were way bigger compared to what you found open to public in Whistler.

Also a good sized "hill" compared to what we have in south-east of UK, and chair lift too! No complaints here Smile

Im a huge winterberg fan. Always enjoy the trails there on a big dh. Perfect for my skill level. I always try to go once a year. Love the bars and eaterys there too. Glad to see big mountain up and running again stayed there in may. Top notch
  • 3 0
New chairlift there is a massive improvement too
  • 6 0
You should ride in Chatel, Morzine or Les Gets once you have been there you won't even notice/feel the brakend bumps in Winterberg anymore.
  • 3 0
 Aughh...braking bumps?! (Sniff)

Ridiculous.
  • 1 0
Can't wait, going to Germany tomorrow ^-^
  • 2 0
@ice600 I did les gets this year and went back via winterberg. I know exactly what you mean.
Winter berg is smooth and flat in comparison.
  • 2 0
@ice600 your right ! and also try "les 2 alpes", after that you will never ever complain about braking bump. part of the game.
  • 2 0
 @HutchJR
Don´t laugh about it, that´s not fun... Smile

@tabletop84
Bischofsmais for sure is really nice, even if it`s not the biggest park. Unfortunatey have never been to Spicak, but looks like I really have to go there next time, too.
  • 2 0
I also like Beerfelden Bikepark in Germany Smile Not much technical stuff and quite short, but flowy and really fun trails. It may not be the biggest bikepark around, but is sure one of the funniest !
  • 1 0
If anyone's wondering why Germans always say "funny" meaning "fun" it's because glucklich in german kinda (not quite literally) means both. Thanks for the trail tips, considering heading over in the next few years Razz
  • 1 0
 "glücklich" means happy....
Has nothing to do with fun or funny, that's "spaßig" or "lustig".
  • 1 0
Ah ja das ist sehr interessant Wink
  • 2 0
Mein deutsch ist nicht so schlecht Wink
  • 1 0
That's how my exchange family explained it to me xD Or it might have been lustig idk. Bit off track here
  • 26 3
 Hey its actually Troy Brosnan!
  • 12 0
"berm drifting" on the title = instant click on the article.
  • 4 2
We used to do that shit back in the day on bmx bikes, we called it skids
  • 6 1
Drifting and skidding are two different things. Skidding is when you lock up your brake. Drifting is off the brake, or feathering it. Watch his rear wheel, it never stops rotating.
  • 1 0
hahah my friend tried to drift on a berm the other by braking hard ... immediately highsided into some nettles Big Grin
  • 1 0
I can't believe he is doing that without touching the back break even a little bit.
  • 2 1
Like I said, drifting is off the brake, or feathering it.
  • 3 1
Drifting is one of the most fun things you can do on a bike (or in a car) but to me berm drifting is just bad form. Imagine how the track would be if everyone did it..
  • 1 2
sound like peta for trails. no brap for you brah

Found a new way to peel a bannanna, thank you bannanna man!
  • 21 0
I have tried this before. If the banana is still a bit green, not a lot happens and you end up looking a bit of a fool. If the banana is a bit over ripe it will usually make a somewhat successful bid for freedom. If you are lucky it will land somewhere amusing, but mostly you end up looking a bit of a fool. If the banana is just right, you end up looking slightly cooler than you did before, but then you have to eat a banana and if your mates are particularly childish, this also tends not to end well. Unless you're a girl.
  • 1 0
right before you do it, dig your thumb nail into the top of the banana to start the cut a little bit...helps a bunch!
  • 7 1
Introduce monkey cages suspended above every corner. Never ending banana peel corners. Plus they will throw their faeces at you.
  • 3 0
man, why did nobody think of feces-throwing-trail-monkeys before?!
that is going to be the next big thing!

What's with the stupid outfits these kids are wearing. Seriously, they look as bad as spandex. Just put on some normal clothes. That goes for you too Brosnan.
  • 3 1
He obviously hasn't been enlightened on opening the 'naner from the other side. Not as flashy but a much more enjoyable experience... Try it people
  • 3 0
That way the banana gets sweeter as you eat it.

 Great riding and videography

 Thanks a lot maynardle3!

Places i need to get too. Winterberg, Hafjell, Whistler, Afghanistan.
  • 2 0
Afghanistan??? I wanna ride in a lot of cool places but that ain't one of em!

I need to go to Afghanistan like I need to contract Ebola.
  • 2 0
You Americans and Afghanistan... Nah I'm joking. But after watching that Sony action cam video of their trip over there (highly recommended, although I can't remember what its called) I've been wanting to see. Just pure mountain biking. If I was good enough id want to adventure the ridge that Danny Macaskill used. Oh the dream

Siiiiiiick music! More edits need tracks like this!
  • 1 0
 I agree! thanks kdstones!

Nice to see a kid getting sideways but actually keeping his feet on the pedals. Nice riding.
  • 4 3
I wonder if it feels weird for him eating that banana without a hand on the back of his head.
  • 2 0
dh bike looked like a bit of overkill that trail.
  • 1 0
Hmmm, those corners don't look very slippery - at all. Try riding on wet slate in Wales
