how many times have you seen bender land??haha
  • 1 2
The surprise would be if he landed, I`m I right ?
  • 3 0
Mate. bender is a pioneer of freeride!!! He may not of landed a lot but he showed how far is possible to push and not end up with two halves of a bike. part of that's down to the bike but without him to push it no one would know you can do 50ft+ drops

Back when Rampage was about roaming on ungroomed natural terrain on big bikes. Now guys are too cool to wear pads and venture into the unknown. One trick wins the whole thing.

Yeah, this was probably the best year ever, thanks Pinkbike! Forgot that Minnar had competed in Rampage, Sam Hill did too.

it's amazing how the sport has evolved over the years, you don't realize it until you take a moment to stop and look back. I remember looking up this guys when I rode my Santa Cruz S8 with the red dorado forks just like CG hahahaha great times

Kyle Richey the 15 year old otherwise known as Hercules was insane. I was lucky enough to witness Rampage first hand back then, all those guys were pioneers and true legends. Thanks for inspiring us to go bigger!

yea dude, I went the year after this, weather was gnar, camping was brutal, but it was so worth it. we were so bummed when we heard there wasn't going to be a 2005.

Dear Red Bull This is RAMPAGE... the essence, the feel and the creativity have gone out of it today compared to yesterday, What you have changed it to is just another FMB competition. Bring back the riders sculpting dirt for days to create a new line on the hill. Now that would be great broadcasting every day.

Its amazing that 9 years later quite a few of those riders are still so current..
  • 5 1
You would look crazy if you tried riding that on them bikes today.

Anyone know what forks Bender was running? They look massively huge for his bike. Like MX forks. And sooo close to making that drop!
  • 1 1
he ran either a Risse Bigfoot or a Marzocchi Super Monster. The only forks I know of that big.
  • 1 0
He used to run Avalanche forks too I believe. Im sure he went through a few pairs haha. But yeah Risse and Avalanche quite literally were motorcycle forks. And The Super Monster was huge too.

I have a sweet set of old risses from like 2003 I think, msooo sweet. They look awesome on the wall

Its weird seeing those little kids and thinking that they're probably about my age now haha. Its cool to see how far the bike technology has progressed over just 10 years.
