A couple years ago the Trek C3 team was lucky enough to spend some quality time down in Queenstown New Zealand during the filming of "Not Bad." I, unfortunately, got hurt at the beginning of that trip and was unable to ride a lot of the amazing spots we visited. Fast forward a couple years, and Crankworx Rotorua gave us the perfect excuse to venture back down to the Southern Hemisphere's mountain bike mecca. After the Rotorua event, R-Dog and I decided to make our way back to Queenstown for a little rebate session. It was an amazing chance to re-visit the friends we made during our original trip, and I finally got to ride the spots! - Cam McCaul
Queenstown, NZ is top 3 riding destinations for me. I love winter, but being able to take a summer vacation in March is a mountain bikers dream. Riding Skyline downhill trails in the morning, to the BMX trails in the evening, and the Atlas pub after the session. Pretty much Whistler but on the other side of the world. Always looking for an excuse to go back there. - Ryan Howard
@pigit77 - True NZ is an amazing place and I hope I get the chance to ride there.... but Whistler is just one small town and NZ is an entire country. Whistler is rated exactly where it needs to be.
I ride in a place most people dream of and I also take it for granted, like Cam explained at the end.
Videos like this remind me that I should stop and take it in a little more instead of just trying to rip everything as fast as I can.
Yesterday watching ride with the swedes I spotted McCaul and Rdog and thought there better be a vid to come out of this. Today, my dreams have been answered! Cheers c3 for making my Christmas dreams come true
Absolutely loved this edit! Great song choice imo, no close up slo-mo, and the shots weren't changing so fast that I couldn't quite comprehend what was going on. These guys captured the essence of biking. Just shredding about with a good buddy. Keep it up!
"Numb to your surroundings" was never an issue for me as a tourist, way more prone to becoming numb to my surroundings when places like Whistler became home. Hate to admit it but after 5+ years in one spot you forget how awesome your backyard is, until you leave. Sweet riding!
It's the way that he finishes them that blows me away. Comes in on the money every damned time. It's nuts. Just looks easy.
That seems to be the trick out of santa cruz county though. I think SC/Aptos guys have the best style with that trick right now. We've got a couple kids around here that are just starting to poke their heads up that are killing that trick too. See the Diety crew.
If you're from Watsonville -- that is basically Aptos. Are you trying to tell us that you have 3's like Ryan? You're spot on though, Norcal has the highest density of style cats!
NZ and BC (along with norway) seem to have some of the most beautiful scenery and BEAUTIFUL riding locations.
