 oh chris you are amazing.

I love his riding style because it isn't like typical trials riding where they are on a specific bike that can only be ridden for trials. Akrigg just goes out on a regular bike and pulls off lines that are a complete fantasy to most riders. His videos give you the feeling that he could be on a regular street or trail ride with his buddies and just pull of some ludicrous stunt, on the first try, off the side of the trail and then just casually join back in with the group while everyone has their jaws dropped. Unreal rider.

flag chyu (Jun 27, 2014 at 23:43) (Below Threshold)
bet he can't do those tricks in bike mayhem.
  • + 4
you give him an iPhone and a spare hour and i bet he can.
  • + 4
I really like the early 2000 BMX street vibe in this video, even if parts are set in the hills on rocks it´s still like street riding.
Fufanus are rare to see today in the (although awesome) brakeless BMX street world. I miss that trick..

I wish I could bunny hop and manual like Chris Akrigg...
  • + 1
he really does make something amazing out of pretty much nothing special.

Chris Akrigg i love you! (in a mountainbiker kind of way)
  • + 14
For me ,Akrigg is in the same category as Danny Mc Askill,Brendan Fairclough,Brandon Semenuk and maybe one or two that i forgot. All of these have a level above than other riders, can't explain...they can do what they want with bike, only her imagination can limit them!
  • + 7
Cam Zink should be on that list too! Fully agree with you, they all possess super-natural bike handling skills and judgment!

 *Judgement
  • + 7
i know what you mean by that, but i dont think i would put it like that: cam zink pushes the limit by going bigger, brandon semenuk dominates his sport and danny macaskill is famous for his style and flow. they show whats possible in their riding styles.
Akrigg on the other hand is all about the creativity (and skill to pull it off): he takes downhill, enduro and pretty much everything else and blends it with trial. hes showing new ways of riding a bike originally designed only for one purpose.
in case its not clear: i am NOT trying to anything away from the respect the other rider deserve. i just think they show a less interesting (none the less impressive) approach to the game.
  • + 4
I know what you mean too,you think Alrigg is like a modern artist:break the code, imagine new way of riding...and i agree with you that more interesting!
And sure Zink or Fairclough haven't this creativity:they "just" have a level above!
But for Mc Askill and Semenuk i disagree:both are in the same way of Akrigg, they have a lot of creativity in their vision of riding and with their "level above" they can do it in reality, that why i put this 3 riders in the same category!Smile
  • + 1
 yeah, guess you are right...
of course danny macaskil and brandon are creative, but they have a different way of showing it. danny macaskill for example rides unbelievable lines (that frontflip on the streetsign comes to my mind). he brought new lines and tricks to street and trial.
but he stayed within the borders of street and trial (lets just forget about his appearance in road bike party).

on the other hand, a typical akrigg video for me is him saying: fck it, i`ll just do whatever the fck i want to do and i dont care about the bike i`ll do it on.

Frontflips to flat suck, just saying
  • + 16
From 2:00 to 3:05 he proved full suspension bikes aren't necassary... I'm now questioning my own existence...
  • + 9
"Don't get a full suspension bike, instead, be one of the best all around riders alive today!" Big Grin
  • + 8
Watch his cyclocross video, would embarrass 90% of trail center riders on ther full bouncy bikes
  • + 2
Funny....seems like whenever I ride my hardtail I produce lots of strong evidence to the contrary.
  • + 1
I was really hoping he was gonna squish tht can with it hahah
  • + 15
Whenever I see Chris' name on the front page for an edit I smile, because I know whatever it is, it will be absolute quality. You've done it yet again Chris, sublime!
  • + 4
Chris' videos are probably the least predictable I've ever seen. Even when he was setting up that pallet, I had no idea how he was going to ride it. So great to watch!
  • + 2
I truly do hope that Mongoose and others are compensating you adequately (as defined by you of course). Your riding is so innovative and I really do appreciate it. Get's me stoked to push myself (as defined by me of course)… Please keep 'em coming!!! Thx!!!
  • + 5
Its mad seeing stuff being ridden that I've walked past loads of times. Mad skills
  • + 1
 Where is that exactly?

Would love it if you gave us a google maps link to one (or all) of the spots Wink
  • + 4
i think when chris bust his leg i was the most gutted i'd felt for a rider. anyhow looks like the leg's fixed good an' proper now, ha!
  • + 3
Probably the best part of this, is that it shows how you don't need some crazy bike park, or intricate homemade course to have fun on a bicycle... A passion for biking mixed with some creativity can obviously go a long way!
  • + 2
Chris is, and will always be my favourite rider. He rides everything to the limit and is instantly recognisable no matter what he is riding. Everyone should watch his videos and remember how fun riding is. Although he always makes me want a trials bike lol.
  • + 2
Another Akrigg banger!!!! This is what I needed. This is what we all needed. Don't ever stop this brah. Don't ever. This kind of surprise on the PB home page makes my day every single time!
  • + 4
This guy is the Bee's knees!
  • + 4
 Best style out there.Super inspiring.
  • + 3
Wearing the same shoes as Chris but they definitely don't work as seen in this video. 5.10 is about to receive a complaint!!
  • + 1
Shazam! He's like a leaping lizard. Always amazed by bridge rail skinnies - that's commitment! I could do without the ass drag straddling the tire on the runout - love it that MacAskill doesn't do that.
  • + 3
I don't think I've ever watched one of Chris's vids without being in awe! Such amazing talents on a push iron!
  • + 3
"MUST WATCH" and "Chris Akrigg" in the same sentence...maybe perhaps a little redundant possibly?
  • + 1
Stupid question but is that a new mongoose logo at the beginning ? I know he's sponsored by mongoose but I do'nt recognize the bike model !
  • + 1
Chris = he pulls one type of bike pretty much on every biking discipline .. earlier, he was blazing downhill, trail, jumping with a road bike!
  • + 1
Chris great as usual! I'd love to see him and MacAskill in an abandoned warehouse or something playing a game of bike.! That would be top.
  • + 2
Damn, rider like him makes me want to give up biking for good. but damn what a rider.
  • + 2
Always a pleasure to watch chris - that kid will ride anything over anything!
  • + 2
I've ridden a bike all my life, and could ride for a million years more and not be able to do this stuff !
  • + 2
If there is one word to sum up Chris' riding it would without as doubt be "Creative".
Very enjoyable edit!
  • + 1
 step 1. Wake Up
step 2. Bike
step 3. ???
step 4. Profit
don't get reported to volvo in the mean time
  • + 1
Correct me if I am wrong, but I think those are spots he has ridden before... That guy was born to ride a bicycle.
  • + 1
Excellent! Just what i needed to inspire me to get out on this dank, rainy saturday morning. Cheers Chris, ya wonderful man!
  • + 1

  • + 1
Dude. A Hill in Spain. Google it. And everything else he does. My favorite rider. It's the creativity, and because I identify with his style of riding more than any other rider.
  • + 2
He is GOD on two wheels!
