New Signings Strengthen Ibis Cycles Enduro Race Team

Ibis Cycles is thrilled to announce the addition of riders Robin Wallner, Pedro Burns and Dillon Santos to the Ibis Cycles Enduro Race Team. They will be joining forces with team veterans Anita and Caro Gehrig, and Gary Forrest. Mary Moncorgé moves from racer into the team manager position.

2015 saw Robin Wallner make his Enduro World Series debut. Coming from World Cup downhill he racked up three top 20 finishes in the final races of the season, including an impressive 14th in Whistler. With full factory support from Ibis, he has sights firmly set on cracking the top ten this year.

bigquotes I am grateful for the opportunity to ride for Ibis in 2016. When I was first approached by Mary I sort of felt right away that this could really be what I need if I want to try and contest the EWS-series. After meeting and talking to Tom and the crew at Ibis I really feel like it's a great family I have come into and I am very impressed with how dedicated everyone is to the team. I have been riding the HD3 for a while already and I am stoked with how well it handles everything from rough downhills, cornering and jumps as well as pedaling. I am looking forward to a very fun summer with the team and to being a part of this great family - Robin Wallner

New Signings Strengthen Ibis Cycles Enduro Race Team

The Gehrig twins wrapped up the 2015 season respectively with a 6th and 11th overall in the Enduro World Series. With the women’s field blown wide open this year, they are on a mission to finish in the top five this year.

Gary Forrest will be attacking 2016 with a vengeance. After a horrific crash at round three in 2015 left him with broken vertebrae, his road to recovery has been a long one. Coming into 2016 he is 100% fit and hungrier than ever to show the world how fast he is.

Pedro Burns is a Junior phenom from Chile who conquered the Chilean Elite National title against a stacked field. With the first two rounds in South America this year Pedro will have the home crowd behind him as he starts his hunt for the under 21 world title.

Dillon is a California U21 shredder. He has been at the forefront of the California Enduro Series result sheets, battling America’s fastest racers. Dillon will focus on the California Enduro Series again, as well as the Big Mountain Enduro Series, and select rounds of the Enduro World Series.

Great to see someone voted for Pedro

Some nice signings there with a mix of experience and potential. Robin has been cracking into the top 10 of some stages last year as a privateer so with some factory support I with him the best of luck in his quest for EWS shreddiness.

Good to see some more countries represented in the factory EWS teams too (such as Sweden & Chile in this case). A truly global team roster.

But he left Öhlins behind, that is unforgivable. Maybe we'll get him to ride SSE this year Big Grin

Ah, so that is the dude who I couldn't catch while riding down Toro park.

I always liked watching Wallner on the DH circuit. He can be as loose and fast as any of them. That second place quaulifier in Norway a few years back was golden. Kill em Robin!

Ibis is a solid company with solid customer service. Their 1st Gen Mojo HD didn’t really fit my geometry that well but their reputation is deserved and the DW link is legit.

Too bad Ibis doesn't have a DH line. Would love to see someone like Aaron Gwin tear up an Ibis on the World Cup. Same goes for Intense. Would love to see him do the same on board an Intense. Or... Well, I'll say it. Yeti. Wish I could see that again.

Umm...Intense has the M16 and a WC elite team this year.

Where is ACC?? Isn't she a Ibis rider as well?
  • 7 0
She is still an Ibis rider, off course, but she has her own structure with her own sponsors

I raced Dillon Santos before he was pinkbike famous

C'mon Ibis, make a DH frame already !
  • 1 0
I wonder if any of them will be competing on Ripleys.
  • 12 0
The team will have both the Mojo HD3 and Ripley LS available, but for the EWS events it is most likely to be the Mojo HD3. Dillon will most likely do CES on his Ripley LS but it will depend on the courses.

I wonder if anyone will chose to race the Ripley...?

 Big up Robin !
