Sam Hill switching his focus to Enduro and racing the Enduro World Series was a topic that spurred on a lot of discussion. As a fan favorite in downhill racing, it can't have been an easy decision and Sam takes some time to sit down and chat about how that transition has gone.
I think it says a lot about Sam Hill when he mentions riding his Mega with the other CRC guys on their DH bikes and he suggests they don't drop him much because of the bike, no mate, they don't drop you because you're Sam F*cking Hill! Proper humble.
With out whatcha the video I would say the change has gone awsome. First full season and he is currently second for the championship. He is making enduro very interesting to follow.
One rider I wouldn't hesitate to approach for a hello at an event. Despite his obvious legend status, he just seems so down to earth. It's super cool to see him finding success and having fun doing what he loves. We're always cheering for Sam!
Yeah he seems pretty talkative in this and it's great to see his success and hear about his goals. it would be great to see more. Good luck Sam! I have your shoes!
Sam is that crossover rider that is getting more people to appreciate enduro (the format and the tracks). He just comes off as such a laid back dude who absolutely shreds on the bike, and personally I always have him on my short list to win each event. Hope the rest of the season goes well for you, I know myself, and what feels like the majority of PB, will be pulling for you! Shred on
He pretty much said you don't need a big bike, just an enduro...or maybe thats just in his case!....I couldn't keep up with at the Megavalanche and we both on Megas...mind you his was carbon and 27.5 so clearly its the bike ...I knew I shouldn't have bought a metal 29er.
Yeh however they dress it up, Enduro isn't going to be great on TV. Live action, one hour, winner takes all DH races are made for TV. Enduro, not so much.
@Rubberelli: huh. so he just straps them onto his back instead of his frame like most people? i guess that makes sense, since it won't mess with how the bike handles as much if it's on you instead of the bike. it just looked really odd in the video.
I can't hear it anymore. Enduro, fuck this word. Everybody is riding enduro,... It's so enduro. I put my goggles on when wearing my Troy Lee A1 helmet. I have a water bottle on my bike. It seems enduro is getting out of hand. Style is more important. Just shut the fuck up and ride your bike. That's it. Just my two cents.
Who cares what everyone else thinks.
Ride bikes....drink beer!!
