A Vancouver Island local, Dillon Butcher brings us along for a stroll down Mount Prevost on his latest trail creation. It was a long winter of work, but the sculpted berms and perfectly spaced gaps are testament to the effort in = fun out equation. Aboard his freshly built Forbidden Dreadnought, Dillon lets loose with the whips in his signature style.

Dillon runs a size Forbidden Dreadnought setup (size small) as a full 27.5 build – all rolling on a set of Next R 36 wheels.

And yes, you see that right. Single speed till you die.

All set up for big bar spins and x-ups with everything tucked in nicely around a Turbine R and Atlas freeride components combo.

Welcome Dillon. You’re going to fit in around here just fine.

Marzocchi and BC go together like Portland and weirdos.

What's wrong with taxpayer funded cotton candy filled safe spaces?

 high-pivot, single speed, that's special

this is almost like chain-less / pivot-less with the tiny safety factor to sneak in a quick pedal. Next do brakeless

Well, that was unreal... Amazing work by everyone involved, another masterpiece!

I wonder how a dreadnought with 27.5 wheels front and rear feels. Also WHY would you use a dreadnought this way ? Surely there are more suitable bikes ? (like ones without any suspension?)

I have a dreadnought and it doesn't jump like this.lol JOKE, the bike can be poppy. All you need is more air..haha

I'm curious about the full 27.5 build. Ziggy link and 180mm fork? Does that give basically the same geo as MX with ziggy?
  • 3 0
should really just be a factory option.. for most bikes

@luckynugget: It'd be pretty easy for Forbidden to offer since all their (current bikes) just require a link (ziggy) to support mx. They would have to stock 27.5 forks and front wheels though and depending on demand that's a lot of cash tied up in inventory that may just age.
