This list is lacking a certain sort of.... Intensity.
  • 37 0
Did i detect a Tracer of sarcasm?
  • 17 1
@curler20p: You'd have to be a Recluse to not notice this.

Are we done playing I spyder another Intense on sale?
  • 42 0
Came for an intense, found a Transition, located my credit card.

i reckon shimano eat into their own market by producing products that last so long that people would rather buy the stuff second hand than new.. not a critisism at all rather a compliment on how well designed their products are.
  • 7 1
Really a contrast to SRAM in that their stuff lasts a few months yet is twice as expensive
  • 6 1
@ibishreddin: As a further contrast to sram, sram's stuff is marketed really well and doesn't piss off the shop rats.
  • 5 0
@scottzg: and thats what is important.

Is there actually a human being alive that would willingly put a nobby nic on their bike AND pay money to do so?
  • 10 1
I picked up one for the front of my bike for $10 off jenson beginning of the season and have been very impressed by it. It's the pacestar compound, tubeless ready, 26, 2.25. It corners almost as well as the 2.35 tired DHF it replaces, rolls way faster, been truly a great tire for me. I'm not doing high speed sustained decents but for the short ones, and hard corners we have in florida it's great. Terrain being loose sandy dirt, to hardpack, and then full sand.

They're nice tires weight/rolling wise as long as you don't live in a place with lots of sharp angry rocks.

I'd ride them in Santa Cruz but not in the Sierras.

Strokes for folks, tires for...locales?
  • 1 0
@dontcoast: I could see that, we barely have rocks, let alone sharp ones so they're working for me
  • 5 0
I tried one once. Was stoked on the way up but didn't last a minute going down before there was a three inch tear in the snakeskin sidewall
  • 2 0
 hahaha richard cunningham, apparently

www.pinkbike.com/news/Reviewed-Schwalbe-Nobby-Nic-650B-235-Inch-Tire.html

he's also a fan of spec purgatory's front and rear, go figure
  • 1 1
@rclugnut: got to have a Fast Tire to keep up with Florida Riders
  • 1 0
I got owned up and down the mountain by a guy on a Ti hard tail running nobby nics.
  • 1 0
I've gotten the $25 worth out of the NN I picked up, and it's actually holding up pretty well!
  • 3 0
@dontcoast: different trail treads for different trailheads? OK maybe that's reaching. I tried,
  • 1 0
 @kjjohnson: that's actually fantastic!
  • 6 0
Wait... The xt groupset is still 620 on chain reaction...... Am I missing something?
  • 1 0
I'm guessing they messed up and listed the price for the groupset without brakes. $460 for the complete groupset would be insane.
  • 1 0
 @Bob12051968: I know.... i was gonna buy 2!!!
  • 5 1
Quick note on pricing: from Jenson you can get a killer new dh bike for 200 more than it costs to get a dropper-less hardtail. Easy decision.
  • 7 1
 Yep, hardtails rule.
  • 3 0
For the last four years I've seen hardly anyone say any thing good about Schwalbe tires. Are they really that bad and if so, how do they stay in business?
  • 4 0
Some of their tires kick ass. I love the Magic Mary's........ the nobby nics and a few others however, well they just suck. I am waiting to wear mine out just a little bit more to justify putting new tires on my Trance.
  • 4 0
Ive got some Hans Dampfs that came on my devinci and they are awesome! No complaints here, I'm not really a tire snob though, as long as they grip and don't rip.
  • 2 0
I prefer schwalbe over maxxis... Rock razor / magic marry is the best combo ever! You just have to be aware that they don't last very long. Haven't tried any of the new compounds yet
  • 1 0
I like Schwalbe tires. And I got a ton of them for 10$ off Jenson a while back. Some people like them, some people really hate them. They last long enough for me
  • 1 0
@Kenfire24: Same here, my rear wore out in two months, riding mostly hardpack clay, with some rocky, rooty Southeastern singletrack. Switched out for WTB Vigilantes which I really, really like, 10 months and the rear is just starting to show some wear. This is on my Trance Advanced 2.
  • 4 1
Are you having a laugh? Not a single Intense?!
  • 1 0
WTF, online deals they are not. Good luck ordering from Calgary cycles when the only options are local pickup....in Calgary.
  • 2 0
Calgary Cycles is my least favourite bike shop in the city, although we have a lot of good ones. I don't know, small selection, and high prices when you go in their shop, and the staff always seem like, "buy a bike or don't come in here, don't you have something better to do?". Sad part: I literally don't have anything better to do
  • 1 0
Why is there so much close-outs on Fox metah helmets. Did they not sell good?
  • 1 2
 FUX SUX
  • 1 0
Found to be an odd cut, we had very few customers fit it's profile..
  • 1 0
A lot of people (me included) think they look terrible, & with the prices you can usually find a closeout bell super for, I'm not tempted to jump ship.
  • 1 0
Kefire 24, I know right. Been through 2 already, totally crap tyre. Has dampf on the other hand, brilliant
  • 1 0
I would have liked those spank wheels. I live in Europe. Can I pay in dollars?
  • 1 0
yes but you will wait a long time
  • 1 0
Honestly, that price difference is borderline racism. A dollar is worth like €0.85? That makes roughly €300 which is about half what we pay for this 'deal'.
  • 1 0
@hubertje-ryu: different country = different type of taxes. Also you will pay fees for border because it's not UE.
  • 1 2
 ayy
