Source: Redraven Speedview - The world's most advanced roll-off system: Safety - Vision - Control
Redraven is proud to announce a revolution in roll-off system design. For over twenty years riders have been forced to remove their hands from the handlebars to use pull cord roll-offs and tear-offs to clear their vision. Times have changed!Vision clearing systems are a vital part of any rider's kit yet they are the only part of a rider's equipment that hasn't advanced with technology through the years. However, Redraven has now brought the roll-off systems of the past into the 21st century using the most advanced and innovative technology possible.
Redraven have designed Speedview a unique and innovative roll-off system, offering improved vision, performance and safety.
Speedview is fully motorized and wirelessly controlled at the touch of a button.
Simply press the button on your handlebars and your vision is cleared in a split second.
Never again will you have to risk removing your hand from the handlebars to pull a cord or tear off a strip of plastic from your goggles, never will you have to slow down and ease of the throttle and never will you have to lower your head using your peak to block flying roost. Press your button and power through; Speedview does it all using advanced digitally encoded wireless technology.
Speedview offers superior performance with unrivaled safety benefits for all riders whether you're aged 8 to 80, a weekend warrior or a pro level athlete. Speedview helps you ride faster and saves you seconds per lap and all with added safety. Change the way you ride and advance your game!

im sure they put it into consideration that if you fall, they are solid enough to withstand it. but on top of that how much is a new lense?
cool and usefull idea, but completely ugly
Scott had this similar idea like 15 years ago.. With a sensor, so you only needed to move your hand to the side of the goglle and the system would tear off.. So, innovative? not really, Scott even stopped making them so its probably unneeded luxury.."
so, because scott did something, and stopped, that means there is no market? Sorry but scott means diddly squat in mountain biking. They hold 0 weight here in the US and in canada. Can't even compete. They probably stopped selling it because it was pre mature. Industry needs to be ready for something before it gets released or no one will be interested. Just how it works.
would a motion sensor work then?
if you fall surely it will break instantly??
and i must weigh a fair bit and me personally i dont want a massive thing weighing my googles down and making them slant??
its a good idea but it can use some improvement: smaller and out of the way for crashes and lighter.
i think its a pretty cool idea, but possibly only of any use on the extremely muddy days, not so much for the weekend warrior, but the pro racer on the really harsh days.
if i would have had thes i could have pulled of 3rd but i finished 4 when i stoped to trow my goggles
as SuperrealA11an said, Sweet for moto... i agree...
but there's still tear-offs and roll-offs... did your mom tell you about those???
-The curvature of the lens is going to give a super small field of vision compared to what all googles today offer.
-$200 yeah right...top of the line Oakleys aren't even that. Unless you get super stocked custom ones, and still barely that, due to exchange rate.
-Lenses are probably not in the $200 price range tech wize. (Again comparing to Oakley...arguably best sports lenses out there)
-Guessing the rolls are expensive also...versus like $5-$15 for tear offs
-The design is ugly
-Another mechanical piece...mechanical piece = will break/ not work sometime
Oakleys as far as im aware dont clear your vision when it gets muddy, therefore your price comparison is irrelevant, and whats with this $200 tech wise lenses?? (note, wise is spelt with an s not a z) Oakley use plain old polycarbonate sheet just like the rest of the manufacturers.
Try actually waiting on the price of each roll being released instead of speculating
But are you really about to tell me that these have as big a field of vision as this? http://oakley.com/custom/crowbar_mx
i think your uber high tech oakleys are distorting your vision if you think thats a tiny box. clearly about 90% of the viewing area of the goggle is still accessable with this system, and unlike tearoffs you dont have to take your hand off the bars, which is not always possible.
you really need to consider the facts before identifying "problems with the design"
Addressing another thing, you say that I shouldn't assume the price of the rolls...are you really thinking that those will be as cheep considering there will be a smaller number of them, less of a demand, and more time and machinery is needed to produce them. Vs some single sheets of thin polymer die cut and sonic welded together?
Look I'm using Oakley as a benchmark because they are the leader in action vision wear and I'm saying if you are going to be paying that much for these it need to match up with competitors offerings.
It may be usefull for cross/atv riders.. but not for bicycle riders.
IMO~

Very cool idea but tbh I also have a cross/dirt bike and I could only use it on a muddy dirt track while chasing other bike... at any other moment normal goggles would be enough...
awesome video tho
im not sure about you dude, but most days i dont think "oh ive got a helmet on, ill hit my head" a helmet is there just in case.
rich kids will pick this up, and the less fortunate will wait for they're reviews before dumping 2 bills on them. (99pounds is 200 dollars right?)
cool gogs for sure, i pump it.
Cheers, Jay.
AND loosing ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !!! ! ! !! ! ! ! ! ! !
not too shabby
I pulled out the treadmill thing because I doubt donarider567 (who is 15) even knows what a film camera is when I meantioned it because of the film to digital switch that happened a while ago.
