Video: Remy Metailler Previews Pamplemousse, Squamish's Newest Trail
@Squamishboz: Thanks for the explanation, as I was wondering why it was rated single black. I was thinking it was related to the GoPro effect, but what you say makes perfect sense. Either way, it looks like an absolute blast! Great work James.

Yes, they were followed by a bear, but with black bear this typically means they either associate humans with food, or view them as potential prey.

They can be reconditioned, though I’m not sure on the success rate and the bears do need to be relocated away from people. I saw one of those Game Warden shows on Discovery channel where in Washington state they capture problem bears and relocate them, but on release they use dogs and fire whistling cracker shells and rubber slugs from shotguns at the bear to teach them humans are dangerous.

Sorry for the “neg”; I fat fingered it. That was hilarious and the best comment I’ve seen in a while!

5 Things We Learned at the Snowshoe DH World Cup 2019
The cell service interruption is intentional due to the radio telescope observatory nearby. At least that is what I was told a few years ago. Wikipedia: “The telescope sits near the heart of the United States National Radio Quiet Zone, a unique area located in the town of Green Bank, West Virginia, where authorities limit all radio transmissions to avoid emissions toward the GBT and the Sugar Grove Station. The location of the telescope within the Radio Quiet Zone allows for the detection of faint radio-frequency signals which man-made signals might otherwise mask. “

Course Preview: Crisp and Clean - Snowshoe XC World Cup 2019
They should have started in the Village and run up to and out Cheat Mountain Ridge, down 6,000 Steps and then back up the mountain on the beginner downhill trails to finish back in the village. Now that would be a hell of an XC race!

Video: Building the Snowshoe DH World Cup Track
I’d wait for the course preview before passing final judgment. All you really see in the video is the top, bottom, and where it crosses over the ski slope from one side to the other. There is plenty of steep and rocky tech on the rest of that track to make up for the little bit of fast flow track you see in the video. Snowshoe’s Western Territory is as legit as it gets in the S.E. for technical downhill.
