Ropelato crashed vs wyn if I recall. Woulda been close otherwise.

@shredddr: However, Wyn was still competitive AFand got to the final 4 in a Round of 32.In DS racing there in no "somebody crashed" disclaimer - that's racing!!

The adaptive class guys were rolling fast down this course. Got more air than most of us old guys in intermediate! Wish butch @weasleyfelchious coulda been there to prevent them from riding on dirt lol Wink Beer

Bailey Goldstone, is that Jackson's big sister? In the video of him hucking the strider bike, I saw he has a big sister who also rides but I don't know her name.

 Ryan Gilchrist!!!! Awesome!

Uncle Kirt won on his recumbent. That is all.

This year was a lot harder to see the whole race because of the way the rider's right side was taped. Previous years were much easier to watch

Interesting thing I saw was pink bike racing on manitou suspension… announcement soon??
  • 1 1
What pink bike? Like the magazine or the actual color of the bike?

 Love this event !

Really disappointing that the organizers could put more effort into course preparation etc. The slalom could so do with a couple of jumps and decent berms, as for the DH, how hard can it be to build a few more features to make the course worth riding. Big event, poor organizers

There were jumps and good berms? If you saw the shit Kyle Strait had to work with in terms of dirt this year on his stories it's pretty impressive what he was able to make. As far as DH I don't disagree

The course starts out one way and finishes another. It’s not quite a day of supercross racing but not far off.

@doncouzens: Did you even race or spectate the DS race in person? Kyle Strait dug all the berms and jumps out of the mountainside because he is given no access to outside soil (and would have to truck it out after the event anyway) The hill is part of a county park and there are some challenging restrictions.I thought it was a very fun course to watch the pris race and race myself at a much slower pace.Kyle is a good down-to-earth dude and was out there talking to amateur racers and watering and raking at the crack of dawn even for the Punter classes like mine......

Easy for a keyboard warrior to criticize when you have no perspective or understanding. Your other posts reek of troll. You may not be aware but Historic levels of water hit CA in various forms this winter. Conditions for the build were challenging at the very least. That said, the courses for Slalom the last 2 years (built by StraitAcres) have had better racing and reception from the riders than for many years prior. They've been varied, technical and are suited to/reward a more well rounded rider. If you want to watch a BMX race, look elsewhere. MTB Slalom has more to it than berms and jumps.

Or, you could step up and volunteer to take over course design and construction. If you have no skin in the game, you have no say in how it's played.
