Interbike 2014 Intrigue

Interbike 2014 Intrigue

The 140mm travel, Aluminum Liv Intrigue One will be shipping with a set of weight saving Giant P-TRX-1 carbon rims for 2015, along with SRAM's Guide R brakes. Other changes for 2015 include replacing SRAM GripShift with XO trigger shifters and a fancy new red and blue colorway. The Intrigue Advanced 1 retails for $4700 USD.

Interbike 2014 Lust

After seeing more and more technical terrain being added to XC races of late, Liv have decided to beef up their top of the line 100mm rear travel carbon Lust Advanced 0 with a 120mm RockShox Sid for 2015, giving the pilot an extra 20 mm to pummel trail with. The Advanced 0 has also moved away from Grip Shift and will be arriving on showroom floors with SRAM XX1 trigger shifters next year. The Lust Advanced 0 retails for $8050 USD.

Interbike 2014 Camelback

Camelbak's Seth Biden created this scrapper bike to raise money for IMBA during the Outdoor Demo. A $5 donation will get you a pint glass (Full of beer) and entry to win. The leopard print thermal pack was actually scrounged off eBay for Camelbak's retro display, and if you're liking a reproduction of the original fluorescent thermal pack, you'll have to get yourself to Vegas, as a run of only 500 were made to sell at the show.

Outdoor Demo 2014

Nico Vouilloz is not only a gentleman, but a bonafide scholar when it comes to riding a bike. The ten time world champ was leading groups of eager participants out on rides from the Lapierre tent, with some keen, no doubt, to pit their skills against the master's.

Smith Optics helmets Interbike 2014

Smith's new Overtake helmet, the road/XC sibling to the Forefront, will be available in quite a few color options that might appeal to women, including hot pink and black ombre (right.) The Overtake will be available in November.

Ginger snap.

Two gingers, one snap.

Interbike 2014 GForm

Imagine if you will, a women's protection vest with mesh siding, shorter sleeves and a longer torso - and to accompany this vest, a pair of women's crash pants with a shorter leg length. These imaginations are coming to fruition in 2015, but for now they are super secret prototypes, locked in the G-Form promo van. The men's products will be unchanged for 2015.

Interbike 2014

The thing about this roadie trials rider attacking a two inch skinny, is that it was pouring rain at the time.

Outdoor Demo 2014

Outdoor Demo 2014

Don't be fooled by these pretty faces. The women from Liv know how to ride a bike - and fix one too. They look after the North American and Canadian demo fleets, and spend their days ensuring their bikes are ready when you are.

Interbike 2014 Nutrition

Nutrition, nutrition, nutrition, there's no doubt companies are making conscious efforts to provide for the discerning consumer these days. Top left to right: Justin's Nut Butters - Low GI, sustainably sourced plant based fuel - delicious; Pro Bar's 160 calorie Fuel Bar is gluten free, organic, GMO free and vegan to boot; Infinite ISIS blends are made with ingredients that should help address common female trail food gripes like bloating and stomach cramps; Nuun low sugar sports drinks - better for your belly.

Outdoor Demo 2014

Five Ten are excited about the launch of their Women's Freerider shoe which will be available in both their original and canvas versions, and should start shipping in February.

Interbike 2014 Osprey

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. For Osprey, each of their male hydration packs come with a female equivalent. The Raven has a shorter torso length than it's counterpart, the Raptor, as well as narrower shoulder straps and wider hip belts to better accommodate the female form. The 10-liter Raven retails for $120 USD.

Outdoor Demo 2014

Nothing in the clear blue desert skies, except for Devinci.

Outdoor Demo 2014

It's rare to see Leigh Donovan without a smile and now she's got even more of a reason to wear one. Leigh is being inducted into the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame tomorrow for her athletic achievements. Congratulations Leigh!

Outdoor Demo 2014

Something is a-brew at One Industries. Fed up with cinching and tweaking the men's kits, Rachel Atherton has been campaigning for a women's line to be developed. The call has been heard and the designers are up to something - but of the details, they're keeping mum.

Outdoor Demo 2014

Thumbs up for rocking this kit like a rock star.

Outdoor Demo 2014

The opulence of Las Vegas is never far off, even 40 minutes away in the desert, a reason can be found to roll out the red carpet.

Outdoor Demo 2014 Duncan Riffle

Each year Duncan Riffle takes home a Las Vegas token in the form of a new tattoo. What would happen if we could get Claudio Calouri to agree to a helmet cam and a tattoo session with Duncan? "...He is just now starting with the needle and, OW! This is going to hurt."

Outdoor Demo 2014

Until 2015 Outdoor Demo. See ya!

I'm a man drinking Dr Pepper and eating twinkies at the MGM grand because I can't go to interbike because I can't get anywhere out of this casino. I don't even know if there is an outside........ Thanks pinkbike for bringing interbike to my laptop!

Tattoos used to be cool but now they're like assholes- everyone has one.
  • 44 1
 Hey, I have an asshole.
  • 4 1
Except it is OK to have more than one tattoo. Duncan is going to have to go Mike Tyson soon...he is running out of rel-estate.
  • 30 9
Tattoos have never been generally cool. They have always been idiotic fashion hypes, where everyone gets the same one, looks totally ridiculous, and 5-10 years later looks like a moron and are the most uncool things ever. Good examples are the tramp stamps and tribals.

Having tattoos for fashion/hype reasons is the lamest thing ever. These are 95% of the people with tattoos.

In my opinion there's a rule with tattoos: If you don't have a massive beard and super rough looks, a tattoo won't look good on you.
  • 4 4
Meh, its wearable art..Duncan's are pretty cool as they're drawn in the negative (outline etc).
Now wearing a beanie half way on your head, and/or rocking a combover is blastemy!
Everyone and they're dad has a parted comb over..its hilarious.

What a gay hipster poser, just like all the rest, trying so hard to be different but ending up as generic as it gets. in 5 years hipsters will have to snap out of it and realize they look like too-tight rolled-up shorts wearing queers with super-gay haircuts.
  • 29 3
@reallybigmantis relax with the gay stuff bud.. you look like a huge douche
  • 3 1
Duncan's a pretty cool guy, but he IS running out of real estate. May have to start coloring...
  • 4 0
Remember when he was somewhat close to being relevant?
  • 2 4
@reallybigmantis you deserve a punch in the face and to have your bike stolen for that idiotic comment. Worry about yourself, not what some guy on Pinkbike looks like ya punter.
  • 4 4
I don't think he does deserve a punch in the face- living life as a narrow minded idiot is his punishment- a punch in the face is nothing compared to that.

haha! guys with that haircut are the ones who need a slap! right in the back of the head…. SPACE MONKEY! I'm not a homophobe, but you have to leave your masculinity at the door if you're going to leave the house looking like that hipster. all pre-teens did stupid things with shavers and hair gel, but these are grown men, unaware how foolish and downright gay they look with a comb-over. or do you want to hit me cause you have one!!
  • 2 1
@reallybigmantis you're a joke... life must be hard when you judge people before they even open their mouths..
  • 3 5
well if you're judging their looks, you don't need to hear anything do you? clowns look like clowns when there're dressed like a clown. these guys are taking themselves seriously while looking like clowns, and will regret it in their futures, thats all. never thought i'd come across such a vehement defense of hipster posers! awesome! love it! just go buy some Wayfarer replica sunglasses and some short shorts girls, don't let your panties get tooooo wound up on this one Wink

Don't feed the trolls. Reallybigmantis probably just didn't get his daily dose of weed today

Stop beating the Claudio horse to death. Have the man do what he's been doing with amazing course previews and leave it at that. He did an xc preview video like everyone said they wanted and it sucked, let the man do what he's good at and leave it at that rather than trying to drag him into everything on pinkbike because of the popularity of his DH previews.

I want Claudio to narrate my life.

G-Form - get rid of the unnecessary chest stuff and side kidney protectors - keep the shoulders, put it on a more breathable fabric (not tight lycra, but more mtb fitting.) Make one with a spine protector and one with long sleeve with elbow protectors. Have them as other products or an all in one combo. Add your shin guards, knee and elbow as separates and you've got a good MTB line. .
  • 8 1
What you described seems to be a pressure suit, and kidney protectors can be pretty necessary. Also just like a helmet if it doesn't fit snug there is not point in wearing it because it will just shift on impact that's why they make it out of tighter fitting material
  • 2 2
giveitall - yes, one could contain all the impact spots, others would just have the pads as seperates. Such as a shirt with just shoulders, one with just elbows, one with just a spine protector, and others would have combinations - shoulders and elbows, etc.. I have one just like pictured (except for those little clavicle gizmos) The center thing is ridiculous and it does not breath well. The side kidney protectors would do little other than scrape protection. I actually wear it for white water kayaking. They have shin guards - not sure they make elbow.
  • 2 0
take a look at the TLD shock doctor stuff the core suits are quite good. vest, t, or full suit.
  • 6 0
They can't possibly think that those collarbone pads are going to keep you from breaking your collarbones
  • 1 1
I Asked them why they have not worked on getting a spine protector on the impact shirt. They are working on one for hopefully next year as legally they have ensure they have to cover all their bases when it comes to spine protection. If not done correctly there can be legal ramifications if their protection does not do its job. That said, there are numerous back protectors out there that can be worn separately and with many hydration pack manufacturers building back protection into their systems, you have your choice spinal protection on the market and can almost have a modular armor system going that you can use for different disciplines.

I knew that ISIS has already infiltrated the US. I just didn't think they would come in the form of a women's nutritional supplement. Tricky bastards.

That picture of Nico just acts as a reminder to me again of just how awesome a rider is ..10x! World Champ lol, jeez!
  • 5 0
A ride with the champ becomes a ride by yourself very shortly I reckon. Sure bring another bike and he will show you how much faster a Lapierre is.

If you are a white, heterosexual male of catholic faith, anywhere near or above middle class, eating meat and wheat products, living in a detached house on mortgage, owning a combustion engine car, then well - it is not only politically correct, but advised to hate you, because you stand for everything that is wrong with this world. Oh I forgot the ice bucket challenge... Yea if you also do that it is as if you spat into Jesus face. Think of the babies in Africa you basterd!
  • 2 2
I am really not sure if thats sarcasm. I hope so... Not that I disagree with that the world is a humanitarian shithole, but what you identified as the source.
  • 7 2
did christians ever care for what jesus once said?

Sometimes yer a lil fcuked, waki.....

I really have to comment on this. My father fits the description perfectly. Everything you wrote applies. However I have to add some stuff. Hes from a very poor family. He´s one of the hardest working persons you´ll ever meet. By the age of 22 he had finished his doctoral thesis in medicine. What he has done ever since is go to work. He leaves every morning at 7am and comes home at 8pm, or sometimes 10pm. He has very few hobbies he rarely has the time for and hasnt found the time to care about his health and do sport etc. He´s 63 now and still works 10-12 hours a day even though he isnt in very good health anymore and quiet frankly I think he´s suffering from a pretty bad case of burnout (which isnt`t someting that does exist in his world.). If then for example some vegetarian yolo (or whatever lifestlyle gimmick it might be, maybe no car?) who has a fairly decent relaxed life and has still has everything he needs but the single item he choses to abstain from says people like him are the root of all evil: shut your mouth! The fact that you have an internet connection and the time to comment on pinkbike as a leisure activity indicates to me you are no better than the rest. Stop blaming other people who might have done society a greater service than you have cause they eat meat or own a car. If you knew people like my father I am pretty sure you were ashamed about what you just wrote.
  • 6 1
working a lot isnt a sign for a good person... as well as not working all the time is no sign for a worthless person...
  • 3 1
Jesus isn't real if he was you and everyone else in the world is going to hell so just chill
  • 5 0
No offense netfischer but what you wrote is one of the biggest self-righteous bullcrap I read here for a while!
Its ok for somebody to be proud of his father ...even for all the wrong reasons...but to drag that into a humorous ment post is quite lame.
I know that Germans are known for being a bit slow sometimes , but come on , fellar! Smile
  • 3 0
Well, that escalated quickly. Lol , Internet.
  • 5 3
Ekhem... yes that was a sarcasm. And it was meant to ridicule current trends against masculinity, religion. No deeper feelings. Netfisher - you tickle my German humor gland... It is hard to find words to describe how unnecessary that was.
  • 2 0
Jesus had a car? Wow, that's more believable than, i dunno, Jesus.
  • 1 2
Okey sorry for being the partykiller if this was infact ment to be humerous, but you know this is the internetz. You have people having oppinions so outlandish that its unbelievable which is why identifying sarcasm is pretty hard.

@themountain I dont think you understood my comment at all. I am proud of my father but not because of what I wrote. What I wrote only makes me sad. Also how is this self-righteous? Whats self-righteous in my oppinion are these do-gooders who talk about animal rights but wear clothing thats made by children in bangladesh. Who talk about social injustice but consume more than they produce. I have many friends like that, they recite the manifesto while taking a sip from their cocacola and playing with their iPhones. THAT is exactly what I wanted to talk about in my comment....

The thing is that I am someone who does not take social injustice, corrupt governments in africa cutting dirty deals with western cooperations and stuff like that lightly. I dont think it has to do with me being german, but whatever. I understand this isnt necessarily the best place for stuff like that , but well wakidesign triggered some emotions there Smile

 See, waki? ATODASO
  • 2 0
Everybody knows that Germans have no sence of humour, but I didn't know the situation was this bad!

You guys should try drinking beer Beer
  • 2 1

  • 2 0

  • 1 0
oh...huh... sorry... holding my laptop tilted 90° all the time.... yes... yes.... thats why for sure...
  • 1 0
Actually a lot of big beer brands are dutch. I'm sure you have heard of Heineken and Grolsch for example.

But now we're taking the fun out of funeral. Let's put our partypants on again! Beer
  • 1 0
Well, Grolsch is reasonable , but Heineken is plain horrible ! Razz
  • 1 0
Beware, Beer is another topic i cant take a joke about and this time its most certainly because I am German Smile
  • 1 0
True. The rule is first beer and then jokes, not the other way round.

Glad to see some good women specific bikes from a mainstream manufacturer. My missus would love that Intrigue One.
  • 1 0
 @elbandido77

its great to see that Giant has spun off their women's specific brand "Liv" as its own entity for 2015. Between you and me, they also get the best colours on some of the bikes!

The reason? Women are really starting to get into cycling, both mountain and road, and there is money to be made from all those new cyclists.

Giant is also owned 1/3rd by a women, which explains the strong push behind LIV

Duncan you look like a douche, Nico those are some chicken legs!
  • 1 0
Had to look a couple of times to figure it out but in the photo of Leigh Donovan, it looks like she has an extra long brake lever. Tricky photo angles.
  • 5 4
Claudio Calouri to agree to a helmet cam and a tattoo session with Duncan!!! I would pay good money to see that happen..
  • 1 1
Sounds like an idea for a Kickstarter campaign.

Nico Vouilloz. Legend. When I grow up I wanna be just like him. A man.
  • 2 0
What's the difference between the women's and men's freeriders?
  • 3 0
it seems the women's freeriders are the older generation men's freeriders but different colors. the newer gen men's freeriders are the VXi versions which are more sleek/sporty looking and not as skater style. so it seems that 510 have not made a "new" women's freeriders and just put new colors on the old men's freeriders and called them women's version.
  • 3 0
Difference is they look nicer Razz
  • 3 1
 @themountain

same with many women's bikes both road and mountain. Often from the big manufacturers like Giant and Specialized, the women's bikes have awesome colours and graphics whilst many of the men's bikes are meh!

twentynineinches.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/DSC04594.jpg

One of the nicest looking bikes I ever saw was the Specialized Fate women's carbon fibre hardtail 29'er in black, made my Stumpjumper Expert carbon 29'er look like cr*p in comparison Frown
  • 2 0
one of my friends owns a spesh safire and it looks really nice
  • 4 0
@layayettebiker - The women's version is made with a specific last that has a slimmer profile and a narrower heel.
