"Winter Depression," a phrase commonly used by mountain bikers to describe the prohibition of riding during the winter season. With cold weather and overwhelming amounts of snow in many of mountain biking's hot spots, this phrase holds relevance to an abundance of riders. For Tyler Gorz, "Winter Depression" is non-existent. Living near the coastal mountains in British Columbia, he has access to some of the best year round riding in the world. Rain, frozen ground, and snow at higher elevations are to be expected, but these aspects only provoke a style that showcases the strength and precision of Tyler's riding. In this video Tyler takes control of his cold winter environment and proves that "Winter Destruction" is way better than being depressed.

P.S. I always thought we are considered part of the PNW as well seems like some folks disagree.
Basically, the only reason to argue over the term is to pick a fight because the person is angry about some other subject. If someone starts up this argument, the best thing to do is find out what they're actually angry about.
It is all arbitrary naming anyways, and I personally don't give a rat's ass. But from what I have observed it is usually the Canadians of BC who are adamantly opposed to be included in the PNW, while the Americans argue otherwise.
One thing to note however, the ecology of southern-west BC is fundamentally different than the north-western part of USA. The Coast Mountains are an entirely different experience than the rest of what is known as PNW.
Instead, this particular argument is almost always a result of disliking the US for other reasons, mostly political and cultural. The ironic thing is, I actually agree with almost all complaints leveled by Canadians against the US. But wanting to pick a fight about cardinal directions in a name, that's just pointless.
Note that Alaska, as part of the US, would also make this name illogical for Americans. But whatever, it doesn't make any sense for the Japanese either.
Moral of the story? Don't start arguments over stupid things like the word "north" appearing in a name. If you've got a problem, address it straight on rather than letting it invade every other unrelated conversation.
Awesome video, and super skillz... but go a bit easy with the corner drift destruction bro
..nice edit + excellent riding, made me stoked!
But, finally, doesnt it make you just proud or happy to see great clips* like this!? *feat. your trail ..
...for me it looks fun.
To goingbig and ampa, the only 2 corners that are getting torn up a bit aren't berms being destroyed they are just a couple flat turns and they are way off the beaten path, they aren't on a local trail at all. Myself and others such as samdemo do a TON of work on Burke and have already been up numerous times cutting out sketchy deadfall to make the trails ride able again. And to ampa the one section on eagle that is in the video I hiked all the way in through the snow with my saw to make it ride able and the ground was hard as concrete so no roost :-)
Thanks again for watching!
Does anyone know the tune?
