I just had this realization that the progression of this sport is insane.. Back in the day.. if you could flip then you could go pro with minimal other supporting tricks.
Now if you cant flip, or double t-whip then you dont even get respect at your local park or djs.. think about how many kids flip now. Now think about how many kids can flip whip. And even front flip. The first bmx front flipped like what 5-6 years ago? Its still a huge trick on mtb today, but its not uncommon anymore to see it thrown down by unknown locals in the sport..
When I pulled out my first back flip I was so stoked... Until I logged onto here and watched a random 17 year old Flip-whip, t-whip 3's, and front flip. Just look at Aptos, Whistler and the kids in this video and how many of them can absolutely destroy.
The progression of DH is impressive, but nothing compared to the jump scene. Props to all you that push the limit every day.
