Why is this a vod if none of the riders are wearing a helmet? Doesn't seem a thing that pinkbike should promote. Shouldn't be VOD in my opinion.

I like the "Came a gutsa on my pushy" commentry anfter the broken arm incident...
It epitomises Aussie lingo.

I am 100% for helmets, Pinkbike should take the lead and remove this as VOD, the message it sends out is just wrong!

its because bmx riders think not wearing a helmet is cool, i would love to kick them down a DH run and they see how cool it is then !!!!! wear a helmet = live longer

This is an amazing video. Looks like so much fun and was a great edit, but how is it VOD with no helmets? Especially after seeing a few crashes, I was honestly dissapointed to see a VOD with riders with no lids, especially as they are professional riders, not your average BMXers. Don't get me wrong, it was a great video, but if PODs have to have helmets, why don't VODs?

I think in bmx not wearing a helmet is fashionable but with DH you would look an idiot without one, hence why DH helmets get up to prices like £400+. But yeh helmets please lads

It wasn't just the fact that they weren't wear helmets but also kicking them into a jump? Awful message to send to anyone who doesn't know better
- - 7
don't worry about them not wearing helmets(we know they shoould be wearing one) and just watch some real good biking!!

I chose this as VOD, and it had nothing to do with money or advertising, I simply really like the riding, editing, and cinematography. The overwhelming response to the lack of helmets on these riders has been noticed, and this thread has been forwarded to the video creators as well. Thank you all for your comments and support of helmets, it hasn't gone unnoticed.

Nice to know our comments dont go amiss
Apart from that, one of the best VOD's ive seen in a while.

But people should use common sense and choose whether or not to wear a helmet, if you dont wear a helmet, thats your problem

ya its not up to pinkbike to show whats right or wrong if it was 2 year olds waching i under staned but we should be old to deside.

Doing sth coz u like it is doing it as long as it is possible = wearing proper protection. Doing sth coz it's good-looking and u can pick up some sweet-teens with rainbow-coloured shoes and not wearing helmet coz it isn't cool is...
hopeless.
Any reason they're doing it - they're still making good show.

in my opinion, bmx like this is just the gay version of skating...theres plenty of better things you can do on a bmx....or man up and go to MTB...just my opinions.

no helmet is cool. don't deny it. and they're fucking pro, i don't really think they care if you think they should wear a helmet. btw miloXC3 that doesn't make any sense at all.

No helmet is cool? So I guess when you make that one silly mistake and end up with brain damage...That is cool also? Have you ever seen someone with a head injury? Cos if you have you might not say something like that.
- - 13
you're all a bunch of pussies. they're adults, let them make their own choices. I am guessing some of the best riders in the world know a lot more about helmets than you idiots. Do a triple backflip and then you can chirp about helmets.
- + 3
i woulk like to see them box without the head gear and then see how much it actually saved them... WEAR A FUCKING HELMET IT DOESNT MAKE YOU NOT COOL TO HAVE A FUNCTIONAL BRAIN
- - 15
YEAH NO HELMETS ROOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My helmet saved me from a broken nose just the other day, could even have been worse. The foam at the front of my lid had fully compressed and I escaped with a cut up face and a saw nose. Rather than a concussion, bad bruising or worse on my forehead and a broken nose. WEAR HELMETS.
And sorry wolfe38, that was meant to be a positive prop - I missed. Somebody positive prop him for me...

Haha, if that guy broke his arm falling off of his 20" bike, then imagine what would happen if he hit his head off of a transfer into a bowl!!!
Bottom line: full-face or nothing. Your head includes your face, too, and nose shards to the brain probably isn't good for you.

wow bunch of whining little DH bitches, bmx isn't going to start wearing full face (except the vertriders) also how are bmxers gay cause im pretty sure those dirt jumps are bigger then all your pussy little drops and shit, except for some red bull events, also a helmet doesnt always save your life, I had a close mate who died last year from head injuries in motocross and he was wearing top of the line helmet, also a bike didnt run over him or anything and the jump he crashed on wasnt that big, so please go untie your panties

There will always be times when a helmet isn't enough and we all know that. But 99% of the time a helmet is the difference between serious injuries and a bang on the head. The last thing pinkbike needs is cheeky c*nts like you promoting riding helmetless to the 11 & 12 year olds on here who don't know any better.
- + 1
ya but think about it i know it can save your life but if can do thothing to and these guy got to be pro but not being afrade to do the stuff and a helmet wont stop that.
- + 1
@BLIPDH i do wear a helmet. 3 weeks ago i got knocked out so if i didn't have my helmet on i would have been mangled. i was just saying that it's there choice to wear a helmet or not.
- + 1
Yes but you thinking not wearing a helmet is "cool" is just stupid, and yes it is your choice to wear a helmet but thinking that you shouldnt wear one to be cool is stupid and not the right message to send to the young teens etc on here.
- + 1
It's your personal choice and pinkbike isn't suppose to be making you lean towards not wearing one because of the message it sends to kiddies.
- + 1
ya and a helmet shouldent be the thing that stop you from bikeing if every pro ran to go get every piece of protection stuff they wouldent be pro
- + 1
*yeah *shouldn't *biking.
Your comment made no sense. We're not saying pro riders should always wear full chest, back armour, neck brace, elbow/forearm, knee/shin as well as helmets and gloves.
but really the pros that pinkbike promote should be wearing Helmets at least and knee pads and gloves also send out a good message.

i agree with helmet thing and yer i was being a cheeky c*nt but bmx isnt as protection friendly as DH is and it doesnt look like it will ever be, there are more and more pros picking up a helmet but people riding with gloves (even on trails) wont happen. period. all the little kids on pinkbike should wear helmets, i have always worn mine and are always trying to get people to start wearing them but at the end of the day its their choice and we should judge, discriminate or alienate them because of their choice.
- - 11
Richo is indestructible haha, BTW australia rep most those guys live within 45 minute drive from mine

Darwism and evolution. They don't want to wear helmets fine! But seriously shut up about it! To each their own. Ever heard of freedom, to do as you please?? Let them ride with no helmets and learn the hardway.
- + 0
i think you can hop on their dicks and defend them a little bit more dont you think. helmets are good...
- + 1
gombo he didnt say helmets are bad, these guys are amazing riders, yes they put themselves at risk by riding with no helmets on but honestly they dont care, their from disadvantaged backgrounds and bmx is all they know and their damn fucking good at it so stop trying to mother the entire fucking world you ignorant homophobe
- + 3
Get over the fact that they didn't wear helmets for some of their ride. Worry about yourself. They are not promoting riding without a helmet. It's funny cause i bet some of you listen to music that promotes drugs and all sorts of other crap. So stop being hypocrites. As for the comment that bmxers think they are cool or not wearing one your an absolute idiot. It's all preference so get over it.
- + 4
Ok seriously, who cares if they're not wearing helmets, it's their choice. If you're stupid enough to just copy what others do thats your problem.
- + 1
Ok so.. I am one for wearing a helmet but who gives a shit if the riders are wearing one or not. The best way to learn is from yor mistakes and when a kid goes out there and fucks up and smacks the back of his head, he will know to where a helmet. The riding is dope and it is there choice on personal protection. They call it Pinkbike, not Pinkhelmet.
- + 2
Great riding :-) but is it worth risking this for the sake of fashion :-(
