Wade Simmons finally speaks out on what he calls the "de-gnarification" of Vancouver's North Shore. With apologies to Keyser Söze. http://www.bikes.com/pipeline

Now this is quality marketing... Awesome and amazing.

Big companies should start to copy this kind of material.

Cheers,

This brings back so many memories of why I love mountain biking. Loved the fro riders. Loved the north shore NSX VHS tapes. Digger. And Rocky Mountain. Loved the Pipeline and RM6. Wade was magic on those and it's great to see he still is magic on a Rocky.

 The word is gentrification.
All those rocky mtns going out the door from the bike shops are being ridden on nice flowy trails.
Thats what the masses want. Nice flowy trails.
What am i supposed to call the (improvements) done to shore trails?
Please build new flow trails on the Shore for the masses to ride.
The gnar trails are pleasantly empty of riders.

VOD that circles back to the latest(recycled) PB poll asking if DH rigs are dead.
Same trails, better AM bikes?
Buffed out flow trails, no need for DH?
A decade ago, everything WAS more gnar, or at least the percentage of gnar vs buff leaned more to the gnar side

It's time to put away the fancy bikes! Dig out an old steel Hardtail with a crappy fork and barely working brakes and gasp 26" wheels. You will feel alive again. Best thing I've done in years.

content reminds me of those quality subliminal messages in late 90's/early 2k's printed ads in magazines from GT, Marzocchi, and that blonde XC chick who wore shiny bike shorts

It's the tire size, not Simmons' skill. Just so everyone seeking more gnar is clear. Tire size.

 Is that a mid fat?

No, it's the "dad-bod" quite common for middle aged fathers these days.
