Devinci Global Racing’s top athletes recently met in British Columbia, where they gave fresh bikes and new race kits a proper workout across a bevy of the province’s best trails. Heading into World Cup round one in Lourdes, France, the 2016 DH squad will once again be led by Steve Smith who, after a hard-charging offseason, is hungry to be back hunting podiums. “I'm stoked to be coming into the races feeling fit and awesome on my bike again,” he says. Here, Smith joins last year’s breakout sensation, Mark Wallace and Norwegian newcomer, Brage Vestavik to rip rainforest laps from Vancouver Island’s Mount Prevost to Squamish and Cypress Mountain on Vancouver’s Lower Mainland. DGR Enduro elites, Damien Oton and Theo Galy, who just pocketed 3rd place team of the day at EWS round one in Corral, Chile, also make an appearance, with filmmaker, Rob Parkin and photographer, Sterling Lorence capturing the high-wattage riding.

Steve Smith Mark Wallace Brage Vestavik

It was great to have the whole team in Vancouver.” says Wallace. “We got in tons of riding on the new bikes and it was cool to hang with everyone in a non-race environment—that doesn't happen often.

Easy - look: Gee Atherton is the best rider out there. He may have had bad luck last year but this year he's gonna show Sam and Stevie who's the boss!

The gravy train must have left the station. Shame. I thought he was the chief protagonist behind the MM too.

The problem is that there are many people hungry for the podium and are looking good (Brosnan, Gee, Bruni, Gwin, Rat Boy, Fearon, Sam Hill). Hopefully Steve Smith can kick ass.

Yea right, Some blokes with cool nicknames are back and hungry, while Aaron Gwin is already there, ready for dessert. Check out his latest video on Redbull, sht got serious and if you are looking for stoke, DH isn't a good place for it anymore. And I like it this way. Let's all buy fatbikes and relax, we never had anything to do with that as a sport anyways.

@StupidFastRebound: what? You mean writing stupid sht to annoy people who treat DH racers (usually limited to Smith, Brendog and Hill) in the same way 12yr old girls treat Justin Bieber? Big Grin

@WAKIdesigns: well you got one thing right; you do write stupid shit Wink Are people not allowed to be inspirations anymore?
  • 8 1
@StupidFastRebound: sure they can, but I think @wakidesigns might be pointing out that heroes are fleeting. Also, he is on here all the time so somewhere inside he likes this all as much as the rest of us. It's all fun man, smile more!

Machine built trails? Fck that. We bust our nuts keeping those trails ridable. We got flowy, we got knarly, we got stuff your moma can ride and stuff that will scare you and question your ability on a bike. All done with rake, shovel and pick axe!

I like that DGR has an entire team in WC DH and EWS all running the same setup. Now for some women and XC! Wink

Also good to see the switch to Maxxis, they must want to finish races with properly inflated tires this season
