Winner: 2015 Photo of the Year - The Voter's Grand Prize

Mar 7, 2016 at 16:01
by Pinkbike Staff
After nearly 300,000 votes were cast, it was Sean Lee's image that was voted in as the 2015 Trek Photo of the Year Powered by SRAM.

Ten seconds after the shutter of my camera closed the sun dipped over the horizon and the last light of the day was gone. As featured in R evolution Magazine March 2015.

This year there was more to the Photo of the Year contest as one lucky voter would be taking home a one of a kind Trek Remedy 9.9 complete with the newest SRAM kit.

Congrats to Oli99 from Surrey in the United Kingdom. Oli had this to say when we contacted him about winning:

bigquotesWow, is this for real? Words cannot express how happy I am today. I still can't believe it to be honest. Loved the contest, I thought it was a very insightful, and a well thought out idea. I cannot express my gratitude to Pinkbike, Trek, SRAM, Bontrager and all of the others that put this package together, I am going to try and shred it as hard as I can! Cheers guys and again thanks so much, I don't know how to express myself tbh, wow. - Oli99

How were voters entered into a chance at winning the custom Trek Remedy during the Photo of the Year contest voting, you ask?

By simply voting, be it once or in each round as we progressed to the eventual Photo of the Year winner, you were entered for a chance to win this beautiful bike. (One entry per user, per round, went into a random draw for this beauty.)

One lucky winner will be taking home this beauty from Trek and SRAM

2016 Trek Slash with SRAM and Bontrager parts.

 Glad for oli99
Glad that he is a real user with account history and a full profile, not some bogus account to gain multiple entries *cough* holiday giveaway *cough*
Glad that he just bought a Trek Slash a few weeks ago a therefore was probably a Trek fan before winning a Trek.
I genuinely am happy this guy won it. Real account, real trek rider is going to ride it and not flip it for $, real deserving.

Congrats @oli99

This whole time I thought the bike was also for the photographers.... So stoked for whoever got this bike. And with all the people always demonizing the MTB retailers....Good guys for doing this.
  • 4 3
I think they give away two bikes. One to the photographer, one for a voter.
  • 11 0
Nope. There was only one bike given away. They gave the photographer cash money. And they gave the lucky voter a trek and some gear.
  • 4 0
Valve caps and pedals not included. I hope you enjoy that beautiful rig you lucky SOB!

Figured I would comment, just wanted to say thanks to all the congratulations, been in your position and really wasn't expecting this, it was a pleasant surprise. I am not going to sell it, because that isn't the point, and I am extremely lucky to be in my position. Thanks to everyone, and it could happen to any one of you, I wasn't expecting this. It's really good of pink bike to do these events, and I am grateful for everything they do, it truly is the best website in my eyes. Good luck for the future guys, and cheers for everything

I will be posting pictures as well, don't worry Big Grin

You ride at Rogate, i might catch you down there one day, congratulations mofo !
  • 4 0
You have a really good point. Its too bad there isn't a pinkbike appreciation day. Pinkbike is the best website...period. I would probably throw a few bucks at pinkbike if they had some kind of fundraising platform....I haven't looked into being a plus account, that may be what we need to do...
  • 3 0
Hi pig man, gonna be there this Saturday Smile

Takeiteasyridehard I felt like I had to give back in some way, before this happened just because of this website. It's free, and awesome, and I just feel like some people take it for granted, not many mind you, but still it would be nice if we all respected this place. I feel like it sometimes doesn't get the recognition it deserves, thanks to all the mods who keep the place tidy eh?

a fundraising platform would be a nice idea, pink bike plus is also good, plus the features are actually quite nice to have in terms of BuySell and messages.

Cheers oli
