Troy Lee Designs Opens Pop Up Store in Whistler

by Troy Lee Designs
New for summer 2016, Whistler now has the addition of a Troy Lee Designs Pop Up Store. The retail space is walking distance from the base of Whistler Mountain Bike Park (nestled beside Summit Sports in the heart of Whistler Village) and is open for the duration of the summer season.

TLD Pop Up Store

The store will provide a full TLD experience with all of the 2016 bicycle product and beyond on display. To add to the retail therapy there is an impressive display of TLD Bicycle, Motocross and Motorsport's history pieces throughout the store. Amongst the memorabilia is a Team KTM replica bike, the Intense M1 Prototype, ridden by World Champion Leigh Donovan in Aré Sweden in 1999, multiple custom painted helmets and athlete kits as well as 2 limited edition Troy Lee art pieces on auction for the WB foundation.

It's certainly worth a visit if you are in Whistler this year!

Cool store but buyer beware.. Found a hoodie in the TLD store which I liked, checked the price, $160. Went down the stairs to summit sports and found the same hoodie, on clearance for $50...

Hi, can you direct me to where I can buy a jersey to cover up my shoulder pads so the kids don't make fun of me while I ride my ENVE'd out V10 for one week this summer? Do you make the shorts with the padding so I can sit down while riding dirt merchant?

 Ass rape time

Most man rapes go unreported. We (Men) need to be better at talking about it so that perpetrators are brought to justice and this madness can stop in this world where feminists always have the last say.

Ladies, if your man suddenly becomes quiet and distant, check his underwear for blood stains. Call 555-123-000. Before you call ask him if he is not butthurt due to new metric shock system.

@WAKIdesigns: and where better to open up about your recent bum-raping than the pinkbike comment section?

If you or someone you know has been affected by bum raping please, please, share your experiences here & together the pinkbike community can psychoanalyse the f*ck out of you

What, Whistler Blackcombs retail department made a smart decision? Imagine. I expected more recycled NorthFace product to fill the shelves.

That will presumably be October-April. Weirdly I don't recall any empty shops at all when I was there one winter.

Love that old intense with the dorado!

 Second that~

Isn't a pop up store temporary? That just looks like ... a store.
  • 9 0
It might just be there for the summer season, closing at the start of winter!
  • 2 2
Yeah, it's like saying the Bike Co store is Whistler is a pop up shop as it switches to Spicy Sports in the winter time. It's definitely not a pop up shop when it's there for 5 or 6 months.
  • 4 2
@ericsmeeton : So just like every other bike shop in Whistler then.

Bunch of whiners on here complaining about a company who supports MTB

It's not that we are bagging on tld for setting up shop in whistler If you have ever been to whistler ,it's more of a friendly joke A everything in whistler is way over priced, and most people know not to buy anything there cause it's way to expensive , is it a cool store fuck ya , I recommend anybody to go see tld shop in Cali It's fucking sweet as hell. And Troy is good shit if ya ever get to met him . It's just all in good fun , we all love tld

If Whistler need anything, It is store with expensive bike clothing.
  • 5 0
Here in the states a tld helmet is reasonably priced. Rei had them for $109 and they fit the wife and kids. Few months later in Canada I hear folks bad mouthing tld as a rip off. Hmm. Why the hate. Yeah they look dumb but fit some people well.

Then saw the prices in a Canadian store. Same helmet was >>$200 us. Someone is raping you Canada but it ain't tld.
  • 4 0
I think it's the USD to CADpeso conversion. Something like $1usd to $87CADp
  • 8 0
Im sure it will be inexpensive

I checked a whole bunch of places online and actually found some downhill pants cheaper than i had seen it anywhere online so there are some good things there at least!

I was just at the Laguna store this evening. 50% off goods downstairs. A1 helmets, Skyline and Ruckus clothing. Good stuff. Perhaps they will offer some enticing deals there at Whistler during peak season. (I tried to type that with a straight face).

So someone raced flat track moto for Yeti TLD back in the day which is cool. Troy Lee was named after a dirt tracker if the legend is true. The person, his legacy, his love of riding MTB and the use of California desert moto as his influence on the products all very cool. But I have to agree with the vast majority of the comments. The loud over priced pajamas are kind of an embarrassment

Still have the films to print everything at Toad Hall (Screen printers in Whistler) . Also, this tld store has the worst service in the world. you thought showcase was bad... The TLD store in Laguna is epic, great chatting with the ex pro moto racer there. while this one has cool shit in it, the service is lackingFrown

Please put the kit and helmets of yesteryear with loads of heritage and history on a proper display, perhaps on mannequins with large poster backdrops for relevance..... not on a shitty coat hanger. Otherwise, good job!
