I hope WB have flattened and tamed down a few more features this year, far too unsafe previous years! everyone and their kids should be able to ride and experience ALine, one of the most popular 'freeride' runs in the world, no matter their abilities.

whoever the hell downvoted this probably doesn't get sarcasm too well...
  • 24 3
Careful guy! Vail might not do sarcasm well....
  • 9 0
It happened at my local resort. Vail takes over and starts circumcising everything.
  • 2 1
For a second I though it was for real! Tough times... Still A Line was by far one of the most fun tracks I have ever ridden!!
  • 2 0
They made it so you can roll off the first drop on A-line now.
  • 27 0
Awesome. Are we gonna see some opening day statistics as usual?
  • 13 4
Rediculous ramp on end of a-line? Ya, let's put even slower Joey's on a run that is fast and full of jumps...makes it unsafe for all. Poor decision WB get rid of that thing

Only reason my cousin wouldn't ride aline #noballs
  • 11 1
@MrReddington: perfect probably didn't belong. Eventually will grow a pair doesn't need a ramp
  • 1 3
@meat: Unforatenelty I doubt he will ever grow a pair. I've been pushing him to send it but doesn't. Yeah I think it sucks how they added it, A-line isn't the trail to gain skills if you aren't going to push yourself hard.

which is better morzine or whistler? is there a huge difference? moneys tight and if theres not alot init i cant justify it. but if its way better il make the effort as you only live once. im no dh god . no bigger than 6ft drops prefered so the sort of stuff i can use my 153 process on and still enjoy
  • 8 0
Morzine is awesome....Whistler is much awesomer
  • 1 0
I've never been to Morzine. But, I live on the west coast and I've been to Whistler plenty and I can vouch that it's some of the best riding there is.
  • 8 1
You can't compare these two. Morzine is a great bike park but Whistler is just the greatest place on earth. Yes, the difference is huge! Not just the riding more like the lifestyle and the people. But you can have tons of fun in Morzine too. Go to Morzine this year and safe some more money. Then next year or year after when you have enough money and time (at least 3 weeks, better 3 months) go to Whistler!
  • 2 0
Your bike is good enough to handle most things on Whistler and I'd say go now whilst the Cdn $$ is low. you'll get more bang for your buck. If you can wing it, get a work visa and spend a few month - a couple of years working and playing at Whistler. A great all-year destination.
  • 2 1
Living in whistler and having been to morzine and porte de soleil lots...whistler hands down is better. Morzine and porte de soleil has great potential but the trail design and maintenance at whistler is next level...from crazy tech gnar to great hand cut expert sing;track to blue singletrack to flow trails, we really do have it all and on your process you can take advantage of whistlers 100km+ singletrack outside the park ...which in itself is world class...just watch some of the whistler EWS highlight videos

 @chantalfelten:
looks like im going whistler then. best get saving. thanks everyone
  • 2 0
I've been to Whistler on my Process 153 last year and had a lot of fun. Don't worry, the bike won't hold you back Smile
  • 1 0
@markg1150: if I were you, I'd go to morzine first as it's alot closer haha good place to get used to the bike park. Whistler is really dialled and makes you feel like a pro though hahaha
  • 1 0
 @makripper:
already been morzine and love it hence why i was wondering if if really worth the effort to go whistler.
  • 1 0
@markg1150: if I were you I'd try the one in Norway plus all the other sick ones in Europe first. whats closer for you NZ or BC?
  • 5 1
was the down ramp on the A-line squirrel catcher always there?
  • 12 1
No. Kinda defeats the whole point eh?
  • 12 1
A line needed more joeys anyway
  • 2 1
I had to go back and re-watch the video to notice that. Totally defeats the point of the squirrel catcher
  • 4 1
@adrock-whistler: it was only 2 feet tall or felt like it haha I'm sure it did more harm than good. they need to start with a small mandatory gap like it used to. (before they filled it in lol)
  • 3 1
@makripper: Old drop was small, but put enough people off, which was good. If you did cock it up then at least it wasn't a big crash. I really don't see the point of the ramp at all.
  • 7 0
dirt merchant is a little bit out of the way and the opening drop def scares the kiddos away. Not to mention it's faster than A Line
  • 2 1
That ramp is going to get people hurt. A-line needs that micro drop as a filter feature.
  • 1 0
And I heard a rumor that the GLC drops are gone? A sad day in the history of heckling...
  • 1 0
 @geephlow:

They replaced it with a huge step-up jump

this fu***** song on the end give me chills! I want to ride!!!

I just came to the realization that bike parks are mostly just fire roads with jumps and berms. Maybe there is hope for Marin County...
  • 4 0
Depends on the line you choose to ride
  • 8 1
Clearly you haven't been to whistler..just happens that for some reason they mainly film Aline, but maybe 30% of whistler is flow , the rest is all tech
  • 2 0
Yeah, no disrespect for Whistler trails. It's just that I realized that with a couple thousand yards of dirt I could transform the Marin Headlands INTO A-line.
  • 1 0
@EricHarger: totally..I lived 7 years in San Fran before moving to whistler...you could totally build a sweet jump line on that fire road that lead up and over to the horse ranch ????
