This post is a lot less intense than I have become accustomed to over the years.

 DHX2 for $300, not awful?
  • 28 1
@skyrez18: Did you click on it? "Sorry, this item is currently not available. Please check back." doesn't sound like any kind of deal to me.
  • 9 0
@slovenian6474: Well it was there 30 minutes ago ... time for reflexion and already gone, no surprise.
  • 12 0
$20 off a freakin fanny pack are you insane?

Hey Pinkbike! We appreciate the interest in the Fox and Cane Creek suspension products! We had quite a few of each of these items in-stock however in the last few hours we have received nearly 100 orders. So unfortunately they are entirely sold-out. - CC
  • 8 0
They were all pretty sick deals. Hopefully your system didn't allow more orders than you have stock for. But if that did happen, may your customers be disappointed but understanding.
  • 4 1
Thanks for the amazing deals! Can't wait for my coil shock!
  • 2 0
@big-red: That's me, disappointed but understanding LOL. I listed my fork immediately, but luckily it didn't sell yet!

flag spendtimebehindbars (Feb 5, 2021 at 11:27) (Below Threshold)
@big-red: It did. "100 orders for 4 in inventory." Time for a system update so that next time you don't have to send 96 customers emails explaining the situation @CalgaryCycle
  • 4 0
@spendtimebehindbars: The 100 orders meant for the 4 different suspension products listed here. They had more than 4 total.
  • 7 1
@spendtimebehindbars: We assure you that we had many more than 4 in-stock for each of the 4 items
  • 3 0
@CalgaryCycle: if my credit card went through and processed, that means I got my hands on one of them? Big Grin
  • 4 0
I ordered the CCDB. Thank you very much for the incredible deal!
  • 2 0
@monkeybizz: did your order go through? when did you order? I tried for a Fox 36 at 10 but it got canceled on me.
  • 2 0
@MicahMTB: I ordered at 12:36pm EST and at 2:14pm EST I got the email saying my order had to be cancelled.
  • 1 0
 @MicahMTB: I ordered just before 8:30 mst

people on buy/sell: "this three-year-old used component was mechanic-owned, 20% off retail is a great deal"

commenters on online deals: "last year's new item for 50% off is okay, coronavirus sucks"
  • 13 1
 Yep some real bargains here.
  • 1 1
... yeah, not great. Given that shops can't stock much, hardly surprising.
  • 7 0
Honest question, does anyone have any of the Evoc stuff that can speak to the quality? Is it worth it?
  • 5 0
I have the Evoc hip pack and love it, been using it for well over a year and it is holding up perfectly.
  • 52 0
Honest answer, $385.00 for a backpack? That thing should have AI which buys Game Stop shares at the right time to fill the huge crater in your wallet.
  • 2 0
@colincolin: well it has a back protector too so that could be valuable for some.
  • 4 0
I have the EVOC Bike Travel Bag. Got it on sale with coupon at chain reaction cycling for like $280ish.... Best bag ever for transporting a bike on airplane.
  • 2 0
I just got the hip pack pro 3l. I have only had it on two rides but I’m thoroughly impressed with fit and build quality. Not the most storage space but you don’t buy a fanny pack to pack the kitchen sink.
  • 1 0
I've been using the 20L bag for years, I like it a lot and haven't had anything go wrong with it. Well designed too!
  • 2 0
@jpat22: I bought an USWE backpack with protector on sale, which was 4 times cheaper than this on discount. So if someone needs a back protector there are other great options with better value.
  • 1 0
I've had their 16L "Enduro Blackline" pack for 5 years or longer now, can't even remember when I got it it's been so long and not a single issue with it. I've had the 3L hip for a year and same excellent quality. A couple friends have been using them for many years now too, no issues AFAIK. It's the only brand I'd even consider.
  • 1 0
I have hip and back pack. Both are top notch.
  • 1 0
I have the hip pack and a hydration pack, the packs themselves are super good but the bladders are terrible. They won’t last more than 6 months so if you get one just blow through them, and replace them with osprey bladders.
  • 1 0
Evoc makes good stuff, but the stuff can be pricey. However, you can buy stuff on sale that makes it more palatable.

  • 1 0
I have a hard time thinking of a pack i've owned that is higher quality than evoc, and i've owned most common brands of bike packs. They are expensive, there are really good options that cost a lot less, but at least if you spend the money, you should get a really high quality product.
  • 1 0
Thank you all for your input.
  • 1 0
I’ve had a bunch of EVOC products. The best have been the travel bag, especially the newest one with the molded plastic inside onto which you mount the bike, as well as the hip pack and gloves. In fact, for these gloves, the price is really good. They’re well worth it.

Trying to buy bike related stuff in 2021 sucks...

We need some deals for the UK. Oh no, hang on, we got shafted.
  • 2 0
@Jay30: Still some stuff available from Germany got a killer deal on forks for my sons bike try bikediscount.de
  • 5 0
Wow, those Helm coils look like a sweet deal! You sure they should be on this page?
  • 5 0
They dont ship to the USA Frown
  • 4 0
The Helm coil is such a sweet deal. I think thats right on cost price or even wholesale price
  • 2 1
 @tbev: what the f*ck!!!
  • 2 0
@tbev: I'll be your middleman! Show me the money!
  • 2 0
Just ordered one. I have a Helm Air on one of my bikes and it's great. Just got a hardtail that needed a fork. It's cheaper than anything half as good on the PB Buy/Sell page.
  • 1 0
Just ordered The Cane Creek shock for my yet-to-arrive 2021 Devinci Troy, it's a 185x55 trunion mount where the Troy specifies a 185x52.5 trunion. I'm assuming the extra 2.5mm stroke be shimmed down with a spacer if it won't accommodate the longer stroke/travel?
  • 2 0
Since it’s the same overall length it would fit no problem. You’ll get more travel. Just need to check theres no link or tire on frame at full travel.
  • 1 0
@brycepiwek: this is what I'm hoping for! Worst case it seems pretty common to add a spacer behind the bump stop. Quite pleased this shock came in my size!
  • 5 1
When I see suspension at that much of a discount , I can’t help but wonder what the mark up is ?
  • 1 2
helped a friend put out stock on cycling clothing at a lbs noticed the invoice and had a look! items that where 3$ on invoice where priced at 30$
  • 2 0
@bdcain: Margins on soft goods tend to be a lot higher than on components. Especially for certain brands.
  • 3 1
Found a seller on Amazon selling Minion DHF 29 2.5" for $30 yesterday. I bought a bunch. Checked again this morning and they were listed for $60 each. I'm guessing they were listed wrong or there was a flash sale.
  • 5 1
First time I've seen actually good deals on Pink Bike, good job Calgary Cycle
  • 6 4
if you spend over $100 for a hip pack...I would probably question your decision making skills...just me though.

Great deal on that Fox 36 for sure!
  • 2 0
Careful buying those evoc gloves. It says "long fingers glove" so unless you have edward scizzor hands Id suggest look elsewhere
  • 3 0
DHX2: Sorry, this item is currently not available. Please check back.

Cool. Cool cool cool.
  • 1 0
Places like Calgary Cycle aren't huge online retailers with 50 of them in stock. They probably had 2-3 at best for that price. You snooze you lose.
  • 1 0
Check again. The Helm link said the same thing. Went back 40 min later and they're available.

Edit: nevermind. I just tried for the shocks. It's a different message than I was getting for the Fork earlier.
  • 2 0
I could see there being people buying significantly reduced items like these and posting on Buy-Sell in a few weeks or so.
"Bought this shock but decided to go a different route with my build. Bought new at $879, selling for, lets go with $500obo".

Anyway - Hopefully those that bought those items actually needed them.
  • 2 0
 @MtbTico: Shhhhhh!!
  • 1 0
Id love a new evoc bag and back protector but after the someone stole all my gear out of my van I cant bring myself to spend that amount of money , so il be having the crutches and the physiotherapy
  • 3 0
That is crazy cheap for the CC trunnion mount shock
  • 2 0
 And the Helm MK2!!
  • 1 0
@Lokirides: it's the MKI, but still a good deal since the price is in CAD.
  • 1 0
@stevemokan: Ah yes, I stand corrected. That explains the close out pricing... I've ridden the Helm Coil and it's good, but the MK2 is a big step forward.
  • 3 0
 Saint brakes are normal priced
  • 1 0
 $195US is normal price?
  • 1 1
 219.99.

No
Idea where your seeing 195 @h82crash:
  • 2 1
I see them listed at $249CAD which when I use a currency converter comes to $195US.
  • 1 0
But for me in the us the site shows 219. Not sure why but it’s not a deal @h82crash:
  • 1 0
I had only seen it here on pinkbike and did the dollar conversion myself but after looking at TBS you're right, they're $219US so they aren't offering you guys the same deal.
  • 1 0
Did TBS find a lost shipping container of Maxxis tires or something? They always have way better prices than I can find locally.
  • 4 2
@jgdblue I'm sensing a Tracer of sarcasm here.
  • 2 1
 Maybe I'll be Tracer.
  • 2 0
All items guaranteed to be available some time in the distant future .
  • 1 0
Nooo the stroke is 5mm to short for me on that dhx2. Nvm only shipping on ground anyway.
  • 2 0
Damn, I still could use a cheap source for tires.
  • 2 0
Michelin Wild Enduros from some of the euro shops are probably the best $50 tires out there.
  • 3 1
You call this a sale?!? Bahahaha!
  • 3 0
This comment pretty much sums up the comment section on any "Online Deals" ever published.
  • 1 0
There are still some Gore C5 Trail jackets at Sierra Trading Post marked down to $119 from $289...
  • 1 0
 Overpriced deals very nice.
  • 1 0
C’mon, it’s March now, get on with it
