The Pro Stage at Petzen-Jamnica may be the toughest yet! At over 6km long with more than 1000m of descending it pushed even the strongest riders to the max!
Watch winner Jesse Melamed's full run on this insane track and see how he managed to score pole position and an eight-second lead going into Sunday's stages!— Enduro World Series
What an incredible video. A combination of insane fitness and skill. The mental ability to process all that information for 13 minutes is also very impressive.
How do you ride that fast on a trail you barely know? The risk seems so damn high on that. Especially on that trail being full of sniper roots, trees, and rocks.
why is it Redbull TV Can Make a 2 hour event out of a UCI DH race that is fun and entertaining to watch, but EWS and that Media Team can only come up with a 15 min clip of the top 3 racers......? That much riding , youd think they could get a few more minutes of footage. Ill get up at 3 am to watch a live DH event scheduled on REDBULL, but just check the spoilers on PB for enduro, because their coverage is so minimal.... im sure its money related.
Couldn't have anything to do with the format of the race. Or the amount of resources they have to broadcast. Must just be negligence. EWS SUX!!! IM MAD!
I agree that the coverage it’s not the best… but I believe it’s also harder to get footage from so many stages and so many riders. Compared to a stationary track.
@mlangestrom: These things are all true, but look at the coverage hard enduro gets in moto. Again, its not like watching an F1 race, but there is multi-modal live feed coverage, and even if the coverage is messy and jumps around, it's still rad. Obviously, if you use an event like DH as a standard, you'll only be dissapointed. However, lots of events run like this with decent coverage of action. WRC plus often seems jumbled and hard to keep track of, but you always get to watch some good racing! It just seems like they gave up on coverage a while ago. Try something more, make mistakes, and learn how to do it better.
I try not to know the results before watching the rounds highlights show. It would be great if you didn't give the results away in the link and /or used spoiler alert tags.
This is a single stage that happened yesterday and the video was of course posted after the stage results had already been up for 24 hours. If you are going to try to avoid the results of every single stage for the entire weekend so you can watch the highlights show on Monday afternoon then you might want to stay away from social media in general.
@rfchambers: Posting a video a day later and naming the winner of a single stage is completely reasonable. Every single MTB outlet that covers the race, the EWS organizers, the rider himself (obviously) had already posted it very publicly.
anyone have a link to that route?
Compared to a stationary track.
For me it’s kind of similar to Formula 1 and WRC.
Even FIA struggles to cover the WRC.
And you expect EWS to cover 5-6 stages on a shoestring budget?
And let's face it, enduro is a small sport for us nerds, no one else gives a f.
