Have a look at how Amaury or Finn hits it: smooth like butter, you don't even notice the feature. All these you saw crashing today will be probably doing it a lot more like the wc pros in a year or two, and that's´s why you got so many French winning races- is called progression.

Some of those tumbles were f*cking nasty. But notice how everyone who hit it fast, scrubbed it into the dip and through the corner made it work, and everyone who braked hard f*cking stuffed it straight into the ground, and the murder log. Gotta hit it like you mean it, going into survival mode MAKES you crash so much more often. Faster would have been safer and easier, commitment to the line will get you places.
@pinkbike crew, take notice of the first 3 mins of this clip. This is what people have been asking for as reaction to Friday/Saturday/Sunday fail/send/save. All mixed up and every new rider is a surprise.
Makes it more difficult. You have to go fast enough to clear the log, which means you enter the next section pretty quick, and I think it's steeper than it looks.
Without the log I think you wouldn't see so many crashes, it does make it more dangerous

its a janky technical jump/drop.. if you fail you dont die.. unless you are really really dumb to hit it blind at full speed.. its got a b-line.. this is better than a super long and sketchy and tall road gap.. in the wet (Les gets ; ) )
@Lagr1980: super long and tall road gaps are cool. Just not this sketchy one in Les Gets. So this kind of features are probably a french thing. Lets call it "french style" :-)
