bigquotesI generally don't hold the trigger down unless I see a rider that has history of throwing style or choosing an insane line. I've been shooting Wil White for several years now and whenever I know he's coming down the section I'm shooting I make sure my buffer is clear and I hold down the shutter until he passes my frame. This day Wil White happened to take a very techy corner, where many people went down, a bit too fast and paid the price. Unfortunately when he got up he was wrapped up in the tape, but as always Wil finds a way to get past it and continue shredding down the course!

 After having an unsuccessful night at the bar, Wil decided that he would try his luck at high speed bush diving during the DH race.

 this may look like an accident, but in reality it was Will's animal like rodeo instincts that took over, few people know that will actually worked as a bull rider before he got into mtb, and even fewer know that the main diet for bull rider besides consist jackrabbits. Few Grocers sell Jack Rabbits, so when Will saw one taking shelter in that bush he stepped of his bike mid whip (frame 5-6), and dove for the little sucker,(Frame 7), grabbed the little guy, and shoved the jack rabbit under shirt Mid roll to hide his precious bounty from other predators. it would matter who got first place the real winner was Will.

 After countless hours on the mechanical bull at the local ho-down, it was time to put his skills to the test by bombing down a massive, sketchy, rocky boulder descent on a DH bicycle. Back breaking, spinal injury, life threatening terrain...nature's mechanial bull, and although he didnt quite hold on for the full 8 seconds, at least he was fortunate enough to land in a thorn bush to soften his fall.

 Wil's race run was going swell, he was hitting his lines and smashing the turns, taking everything the track could throw at him in his stride. It was all coming together and it felt like this was it. The ride of his life. He was in the zone coming in to a rocky corner which had caused problems for him in his practice runs, but this time it felt like it was his. He had just started to lean into the turn when he saw it. It was unmistakeable, the rough scaly skin, the white criss-cross markings. A Diamondback rattlesnake sitting, coiled, in a bush at the side of the track. Had it seen him? No he didn't think so. He had missed his braking point and was coming in too fast now, his front tyre starting to slide in the dust. A quick tweak of the handlebar and the mistake was corrected, but this had cost him his line and he was now running wide. "Focus Wil, focus!" he thought to himself. But he couldn't. Try as he might, he couldn't fight the urge. His inner Steve Irwin got the better of him and in one swift move, he threw himself from his bike, pouncing with his hands extended before him onto the unsuspecting reptile.

The race was lost, but he had his prize.
