 They're not even human, they're bike-beasts!

'Geeing/Geesus/FS Gee again' may replace Gwinning as the most overused phrase/phrases of the season. (not a complaint Wink )
  • 19 2
 +1 for "Geesus"

Good call thestigmk1
  • 11 2
Gwin will be back once he gets used to Hill's bike...

Look back at the preview and I told you all so
  • 3 0
 new GT Fury works!
  • 65 0
Gee and Rach are unstoppable, but it looks like Taylor is having a bit of trouble keeping it rubber side down
  • 25 0
He is maybe pushing it too hard sometimes!
  • 23 0
I guess he's put a lot of pressure on himself to do well as this is his first year on the world cup circuit with a pro team
  • 18 1
Ride it like you stole itSmile
  • 4 0
I'm surprised he is racing at all after his crash at Val di Sol, that was horrible. He'll probably race Andorra too haha
  • 3 0
3 of them, the same result as in Val di Sole
  • 1 0
Hes still a kid. Bit more experience and the consistency will come.
  • 1 0
Kids got skills though, that's for sure. Wins most of the BDS rounds and nipping at the heels of the top elites. Would like to see him on top of that junior podium at least.
  • 1 0
Yeah no doubt, less pressure at bds perhaps.
  • 27 1
Somebody get the hoses out. The Atherton's are on fire!
  • 5 4
LOL on fire an burnin out the field!! I really think its there year an season!
  • 22 3
I feel a bit sorry for Taylor.. When he signed for GT he received a huge amount of pressure to keep up with the Athertons and Marc, and now he's just having to push so hard that he's having to be airlifted off... Taylor I wish you a speedy recovery and I hope to see you smash it at Vallnord!
  • 12 1
I don't know if I would say I feel sorry for him. I agree with everything you said but his signing with GT I'm sure will ultimately be a huge plus for him. He may be feeling the pressure now but at the same time he's got great support and some great riders to learn from.
  • 16 1
He needs to wear more protection untill he gets more consistant riding at world cup speeds. just my opinion
  • 2 1
Who said he wasn't wearing protection?
  • 6 0
more protection like chest protector, pressure suit maybe

pressure suit? if that slows him down he loses GT completely, he'll get more experienced just wait for him
  • 2 1
if you cant keep riding because your hurt all the time its a good chance you will lose your ride.......
  • 2 1
Fabien Barel, Cedric Gracia, Brendan Fairclough, Dan Atherton, Rachel Atherton, Chris Akrigg have all had pretty long injuries and all have come back to form…

there's far more than that too.
  • 1 1
That's after they have already proven themselves
  • 3 0
As a junior Taylor is already quite well proven… just look outside the US world. Rolleyes
  • 1 1
Name one of the people you named that got hurt before they were pro?
  • 1 1
 A proven pro
  • 2 0
 All of them. lol
  • 19 0
I know incest is bad, but if they had children it could be the beginning of a downhill human master race.
  • 4 0
More like downhill mutants with gills and stuff
  • 18 1
The womens category seems to have been stacked! Look at all those names...
  • 7 0
There are more, full results shortly. The race JUST ended and waiting to hear more.
  • 4 0
 added rest of women.
  • 3 0
'... womens category seems to have been stacked!..'. I see what you did there.
  • 14 0
Marcelo Gutierrez fast than Danny Hart
  • 1 0
 im quite surprised as well.
  • 5 0
i'm not. marcelo is a consistent guy, danny takes too many risks.
  • 1 0
Seems to be Danny is overdoing it this year, perhaps as a result of coming back from injury and being keen to get back up to speed.
  • 12 0
Looks like I need a Fury!
  • 2 0
 :puts the session on craigslist:
  • 12 0
Gee and rach are going to drive more DH riders into enduro at this rate.
  • 7 0
Apparently Gee was track side sitting with Taylor for two hours when he crashed making sure he was ok etc ( there was no juniors apparently just one race). Then walked back up, warmed up for a bit and smashed out the winning run. Makes it even more impressive if you ask me !
  • 9 0
Damn ... and i thought this season would be competetive and interesting... damn you Gee^^ good job though
  • 9 0
The new GT Fury will sell like hot cakes
  • 5 0
 truly the best debut
  • 2 1
Very well said! In my opinion the new GT will sell like Twinkies! Vous mange' tres grande Twinkies = more speed
  • 6 1
Have GT just built the best DH bike in the world? with the help of the athertons ofcourse, Or have Gee and Rach turned up the training to 11? Maybe is it a combination of things that have all gone right at the same time, a great bike and two on top of their game athletes. Either way this not the way most of us thought this season would be going last year when gwingate was going on!
Will they dominate the rest of the season as well??
  • 6 1
Gwinn goes to Spec and falls to pieces, Athertons get on the new GT and become unstoppable. Funny how these things work out, isn't it?
  • 7 2
I honestly think Gee can win on any bike. As with Gwin, it's not necessarily the bike but it's the team. If Gee was riding a Demo on the exact same team with the exact same people now he would probably still win, and if Gwin were riding a Session for the Speesh team he probably wouldn't. At the highest level a different bike can only do so much especially because all of the World Cup bikes are top-level machines.
  • 3 0
Oh I wasn't implying it was simply the bike. Obviously it's the situation as a whole, team, bike, who you're riding with to train, etc etc.
  • 5 0
I know, I was not directly contradicting your comment, I was just adding to it.
  • 1 2
You have to say though that the results were not so conclusive when they were with Commencal, especially at the end... No denying that Gee is awesome, as is Rach... but massive massive support from GT in getting the bike absolutely right for them.. Gee and Rach have worked incredibly hard to get fit and ride hard, but behind the scenes at GT, their hard work is paying off also... would have been really interesting if Gwinn had still been with Trek ?
  • 5 0
i dont think gwin would put down on his training, seriously something is wrong with specialized
  • 1 0
athertons have the same coach as danny hart did for 2011 don't they?
  • 4 0
I think its probably a combination of all the factors. Clearly they are on a bike they are more comfortable with this season. So considering Rachel pretty much dominated last season and Gee was on the podium every race last year on an old model that wasn't 100% dialed, the bike could in fact be the biggest factor. But lets also not act like this is coming out of no where. Gee and Rachel are both former world champions and WC overall winners. So its not only the bike. Its two top riders, coming into top form aboard a bike they are 100% comfortable with and this is what you get.
  • 1 0
Not necessarily, gwin gor a new coach...
  • 9 1
Wow the Athertons are on top of their game this year!
  • 6 0
This is getting boring haha! amazing win streak from the Athertons, keep it up.
  • 2 0
The most stylish rider stays Grégoire Padziorko from Belgium. Unfortunately he jumped too long on the big table, he crashed and had a broken collar bone... Good for the Atherton! But I'm still hopin' for Gwin's comeback
  • 4 0
Taylor Vernon is really out of luck! Poor guy... I hope he heals fast and comes back strong
  • 5 0
 Go>>>>Sik mick
  • 4 2
It is a shame that the current fast guys didn't show up like Greg, Brook, Steve, Troy etc.... That would have made for a better race.
  • 2 0
A lot are in other places doing other things. A lot of the Syndicate (as an example) is Enduro racing when not doing World Cups.
  • 2 0
Yeah I know Greg and a few others were at the Andora DH race so he could preview the new WC course.
  • 2 0
Agreed but in all fairness some of them have better things to do then to go and race a half hacked course when the WC points are so close for alot of the fast guys Greg,Steve,Brook,Sam etc, that they just need to focus on training progression, however your definately right wouldve been nice to see how the results would compare
  • 4 0
that photo makes Gees bike look carbon.
  • 1 0
I'm still not sure it isn't after looking at the photo again!!
  • 3 0
does anyone else think it looks like he isn't even riding on the track?
  • 15 0
he took the long way round to give the others a bit of a chance. looks like it didn't help them though...
  • 3 0
Hope the best for Taylor. He's had a tough couple races.
  • 2 0
