 "Super slim low profile design..."

GREAT!... If your hands are the size of a pixies! I wish companies would start giving more options for those of us with large hands!

Easton does a fairly large diameter lock on grip.
  • 2 1
Exactly my thought. I ride Acros A-Grips, larger diameter than most grips and quite good damping.
  • 14 2
Try OURY. A friend of mine had them on his BMX and since I saw them I have fallen deep for them. Rode them now for 1year about 3 times a week on the DJ and they have not moved. The compound is amazingly soft, they glue onto each other, but is incredibly durable. OURY for life!
  • 7 1
Also Race Face make thick grips. The Strafe is the thick one I think.
  • 1 2
I loved the design of the Eastons, but after getting some found the rubber compound to be quite hard on the hands compared to others Ive been runnning. I had a green pair, not sure if black would be any softer.
  • 5 1
Really like the Eastons. Rock hard but surprisingly comfy. No green Racface? I'm out.
  • 7 2
Take a look at the superstar excel grips if you have large hands.
  • 17 2
ODI Rogue are nice for large hans. Large diameter, gripy/tacky, comfortable.
  • 8 2
 ESI chunky!!!!!!!
  • 3 1
Totally agree. Still trying to find the perfect grips for gloveless larger hands.

 Size doesn't matter guys...
  • 2 1
@krystianj, I ride gloveless and have large hands, I am 6ft and 190lbs, and ride a lot of DH and all mountain here in canada, only time I wear gloves is for the races as here in my province of quebec they make you! really comfy and great grip and they form to your fingers within a couple of rides

I've got these bad boys and they are the thickest I've tried,

Renthal moto/atv grips and some safety wire. You'll never go back to lock ons again and your hands will thank you. They're also a hell of a lot cheaper.

 SENSUS fo lyfe

6'4" tall and xxl gloves here. I like ergon ge1. The bump in the palm makes a huge difference in how tired my hands get on down hills.
  • 2 1
@WestwardHo do you ride gloveless?? I am interested if the wire cuts into your hands or can you push the braided end into the grip with a needlenose plyer...thanks!
  • 1 1
I ride with gloves but I don't see any reason it would have an effect if you ride gloveless. That's the technique: just twist the wire to tighten, clip it short and push the remainder up into the grip with needlenose or something similar. I've never had an issue with it poking or cutting me and moto riders have been doing it for 30+ years so I'm guessing if there were any issues they would have stopped.

One other thing, you can use Renthal grip glue but spraypaint is even easier. Just spray some in to the grip to slide it on and once it dries it's pretty locked down. Some people just use glue OR wire but I prefer both.
  • 1 1
 @WestwardHo thanks...going to give that a go
  • 2 1
6ft4, XXL gloves (but rarely wear them) and I prefer thin grips with a bit of cushion to them, typically mushroom style. ODI non-lockon Longnecks currently, favourite I've ever had. Didn't get on with thicker grips in the past (Oury non-lockon, ODI Rogue lockon). As with most things in life, it's just a preference.
  • 2 1
Race Face does offer a full range of grips with varying diameters to fit all rider preferences. Our thickest grip would be the STRAFE with a 33mm diameter. www.raceface.com/components/grips/grips/strafe-lock-on .
  • 2 1
The Five colours offered now are just the initial launch. We will be adding more colour options in the future!
  • 3 2
@buckley @seraph I second that. I have a pair of the large diameter Easton's on my bike and they are definitely kick ass.

I hear you on the small grip thing. 6-3 and 2XL gloves. I used Oury and Ergon Large. But kept searching for the right grip. of those 2 I liked the Oury. But recently I got a pair of Chromag Squarewave XL grips. They are 10-15mm wider than the others and bulged in the center to around 33mm. Very very comfortable. I highly recommend these for those with big mitts. The width is the magic thing though. The extra room is luxurious.
  • 2 1
I think I'm gonna try the chromag next. Do the odi locks work on them or do i get to buy a whole new set?
  • 2 1
unrooted- They come with a different type of lockring. Theirs has a built in bar end cap that is part of the clamp ring. Pretty sweet design actually.
  • 3 2
I got a neg prop? Really...? Is it agains the rules now to mention the name Easton in a RaceFace thread? Well you know what? . . . . . . EASTON EASTON EASTON EASTON EASTON EASTON EASTON EASTON EASTON!!!

There! I said it, so bite me!

"unique directional design - the ribbed section lives under the riders palm not only for comfort, but for moisture dissipation, while the diamond pattern sets up underside to enhance finger control and prevent any unwanted slippage"

best tell the wife...........
  • 7 1
"Moisture dissipation", "Ribbed Textures", "Sticky feel when wet", and "Finger Control" make me feel all funny inside, like when we used to climb the rope in gym class.

Exacrtly what i was thinking, Just a rip off of the Cam Zink's Sensus line. I won't run anything else on my bikes.

Get em here folks: shop.thesensus.com/category/grips
  • 22 2
Yeah because sensus invented the ribbed grip pattern...
  • 9 2
Look man: the whole grip size thing is kind of stupid. grips should come in sizes just like gloves. this is unconceivable to say that a grip has a small diameter and consider it a good thing! riders with big hands (me lets say) know that a grip with a small diameter will create a big amount of hand fatigue. also when a rider buys any bike over 1000 euros, grips and saddle measurement should be a standard prosedure at the lbs. this gives reason for the lbs to survive. my 2c

Haha that's typical Hungarian education when it comes to learning foreign languagues. "Let's teach these kids the hardest and most useless words that not even English politicians would use, and focus on them memorizing all the grammar rules, but no way we are going to let them apply those or teach them how to have a decent-ish conversation".

I know cause I'm half Hungarian myself Razz

Sensus disisdaboss gum for it all!! My only complaint is they dont come with confidence of their designer or namesake!
  • 4 0
Those have such a great look
  • 4 4
I like small Daimeter grips even though my hands are on the large side. To me the length
( ;-) ) is more important as the usual is 120mm ish and too narrow. I have ODI long neck grips which are pretty good. Non lock on also helps with vibration.
Trying not to sound gay here....

 Try harder. lol

25 bucks and 98 grams is reasonable. I will defintely try a set of these on my bike. Red monkey grips are good if you ride with gloves.
  • 2 0
Finally a grip from Raceface that looks decent. Shame I can't buy them right now. I want to try these. Smile
  • 3 1
Wow .. Just when I thought I heard the last of George Michael. "Careless Whisper." Sooo beautiful. Enduro ,not so much
