George Brannigan Rips Down Coronet Peak

Coronet Peak, New Zealand, is host to one of the best downhill tracks in the country. Any downhiller who has ridden it will tell you that the dirt up there is all-time. The grip is endless, and the soil has a give in it that feels something like carving powder to a downhill bike. Combined with natural features, on a very well-designed track, insane speeds and truly epic views this track is something pretty unique.

George came up with the concept of a film that looked basically like a full run of the track with a drone following him. The drone would provide the perspective to show off the flow of this awesome track and we cut it with shots to bring you back into the action on the ground.

 I like the speed and the lack of intentional berm destruction. A recent vid of the same trail made me disgusted with all the unneeded roosts. The trail builders in the this world thank you George!

 Agreed @MTBHammer, but that's the difference between someone who wants to look like a world class rider and someone who actually is one of the world's best riders - the guys who are that good don't need to try to throw up roost to look fast, because they actually ARE fast. Not naming any spedupsramvideosofryanhoward in particular though.

 The was a recent vid of the same trail I was not to fond of. www.pinkbike.com/news/coronet-peak-fabien-cousin-video-2016.html. George's vid killed it compared to this one.

 @Joe0711 that wasn't the one I was referring to, try this one www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6yx6I3e4XU especially parts at 1:19 and 1:43 are where it's most visible. Pretty disrespectful to speed footage of someone like that up IMO cos he actually is a sick rider - manipulated footage is like saying "actually you're not good enough to be impressive so we cheated a bit", but regardless the deliberate slashing all the time is lame.

 I think Commencal have just done a really good job in sponsoring young rippers, because the edit after edit with guys riding Commencal all involve amazing riding. I'm sure you shred hard enough @metaam Razz
