Press Release: Leatt

New: Carbon Gravity Helmet | Cargo All-Mtn line | Max ventilated Goggle | Waterproof Clipless shoes | XC&Gravel lineup

Since Leatt’s inception, protecting riders has been paramount. What started as the game-changing neck brace has evolved into a complete line that now also serves XC and gravel riders.
More about that at the very end.

Next Generation Gravity Helmet: 6.0 Carbon

The new flagship DH-certified Fullface helmet from Leatt is based on the silhouette of the very popular 4.0 Gravity helmet, but features several impressive upgrades. The shell is comprised of M-Forge Carbon for a best-in-class strength-to-weight ratio.

Two types of foam are utilized (EPS and EPO) to manage impact energy and Leatt’s 360° Turbine Technology to further help reduce forces associated with concussion. Additionally, a “moto-style” inner-liner maximizes comfort and fit, and can be easily removed to wash or fine tune fitment. Yes, there’s also a “stealth” all black version available, and all colorways use a Double-D ring closure system.

New All-Mountain Gear

More utility & cargo options are coming with Leatt’s new All-Mtn apparel line: The short & long sleeve jerseys sport a concealed hip belt, which supports the three, different sized cargo packets on the back. It is basically a hidden, integrated hip bag, to keep all essentials like snacks, cellphone or multitools wobble-free.

The loose fitting pants and shorts integrate a carry option for removable chin-bars, or other pads.
And yes, these jerseys and shorts/pants also come in an all-black colorway.

New Clips & Flats on Shoe Side

The new SPD shoe line is led by the 7.0 HydraDri Clip shoe - an SPD reimagining of Leatt’s wet-weather proven flat version.

Another new shoe, the 5.0 ProClip shoe, comes in two versions: a well-ventilated, and a HydraDri waterproof version.

The Proflat 2.0 shoe has many familiar and well loved features and combines super sticky RideGrip Pro compound soles with an upper construction utilizing knitted stretch tongue & collar, as well as a MOZ Cable Lacing System.

4.0 X-Flow Goggles

The new 4.0 X-Flow goggles have a never seen before construction, being open at the cheek.

This unique approach puts the 4.0 X-Flow somewhere between classic goggles and sports sunglasses concerning their functionality and comfort. Maximum Ventilation guaranteed.

WOMEN COLLECTION

The Womens' collection is huge, covers almost all the kit that is offred on Mens' side, but with a lot of tweaks, for a better fit, like a super comfy, elastic waist construction.

Jerseys, Pants, Shorts, Helmets, Shoes, Jackets... Leatt wants to get more women riding, in style and comfort.

XC/Gravel Line:

Leatt partnered with Gregor Egger & Lukas Baum from Speed Company Racing (winners Cape Epic 2022, and 2nd 2023) to develop helmets and apparel. The jerseys and bibs offer a well-balanced mix of fabric and tons of features, including high-end Elastic interface chamois and cargo options.

Both new helmet models, named Endurance 3.0 & 4.0, feature Powerbridge construction for greater shell strength and load distribution, as well as Leatt’s 360° Turbine Technology to help reduce forces associated with concussion.

Their website is really hard to navigate! All the stuff they make for bike is in the same pool. Triedtyping goggles and got all but these goggles

Agree, we are working on it, but takes time.
Update to come some time next year.
Until then: main navi at the top -> mouseover on Products -> MTB -> Goggles

Now, our official Leatt account works, again. Thanks, Basti (the int. Marketing dude from Germany) for posting & commenting, so far, as well as pb dev team for sorting the log in issues.

@one38: thanks! People rave about most Leatt stuff, so I'm curious to try something. Finding it is the first step hahaha

Looking forward to seeing a review of the open-bottom goggles... I really struggle with goggles fogging and this *might* be a great solution.
  • 20 0
I've got a pair in for test, stay tuned.
  • 2 0
Is this in reference to the Velocity goggles? I'd be interested too, as a glass-under-the-goggles rider aha.
  • 7 0
If you are wearing goggles to protect from dust, open goggle frames are most definitely *not* the solution: you're better off wearing sunglasses b/c it's easier to remove them to wipe dust/mud from eye sockets. Even in the wet, I found front wheel splatter made its way up into goggles where I've removed the lower foam, or that "featured" open vents by design. As a skier, I've learned that Smith & Oakley have the best antifog tech for moist, warm, high-output days. Truthfully, most single-lens MTB models I've tried are pretty terrible on the anti-fog front, evidently they're being produced w/ cut-rate antifog tech b/c MTB market isn't going to pay $300 for best-in-class anti-fog double-lens optics like snow market will.
TLDR: keep the foam in, and keep trying MTB goggles 'till you find one w/ ideal air flow *paired w/ your helmet(s).* I found Giro goggles that vent well in my IXS & TLD full faces, YMMV.
  • 4 0
VitalMTB had a good review of the new goggles yesterday. Bottom line was yes, as long as the fit works for you, the new design is effective against fogging.
  • 3 0
I tore off the foam on my 100% goggles and they fog so much less. I don’t live in a dusty environment though.
  • 2 0
@LokiTheCat: agreed RE: Oakley and Smith ski googles, they seem to do a lot better at preventing fog vs. MTB googles.
  • 14 1
Straight up, the Leatt gogs do not fog. Being sponsored aside, I'll keep buying them once my bike career is over. I've ran other several brands and styles of gogs in the past and they've all fogged on me. It's all about the lens, and Leatt has that dialed.
  • 2 0
@reecewallace: You are so fast probably won’t fog anyway.
  • 9 0
Leatts full face dh spec helmets are really good. They fit well, look good and are very comfortable. I crash tested one this summer and it did its job really well.

Finally a shoe with the BOA mounted in the best spot to keep it from getting damaged.
  • 3 0
Pearl Izumi used to do one with the BOA mounted to the tongue, but discontinued it a few years back for unknown reasons. I'm very keen to try this one.
  • 3 0
@boozed: It was called the X-Alp Launch II. Ive had 4-5 pairs over the years. It was my favorite shoe. I think Giro and Leatt are the only companies putting the BOA on the tongue where it belongs now.
  • 2 0
I have a pair from Lake with the BOA in the center (a bit higher than the ones shown here) and weirdly they're the only ones I've had problems with - although off the bike. I don't do any super hardcore riding, downhill etc., so haven't had any issues with damaging BOA's on the side on the trail. The problem is narrow stepped stairs, be it at some snack stop or indeed a section on the trails. (We mainly ride on shared, mostly natural trails here, with the few built sections pretty much all aimed at hikers.) Walking up steep stairs it's weirdly frequent I slightly hit the step with the protruding BOA dial on the top of my shoe and it instantly clicks open. A minor thing, but still annoying and seems very likely with these Leatts too.

I also feel the BOA on the Lakes is positioned too high and near the ankle so it somewhat affects ankle movement/ comfort in extreme positions, the Leatt version looks way better in this sense. The model shown here also fixes the issue I have with the BOA mounted on the tongue in the Lakes, since it doesn't have room to tighten quite far enough for my tiny ankles, as the sides over the tongue of course can't move further than the dial. Although it seems like Leatt too uses that on-the-tongue design on some (clipped) shoes.

Love my Leatt 1.0 shorts: light, stretchy, super breathable, great value, & just enough width to clear kneepads w/o opening up like parachutes around knees like most of my Fox shorts over the years. As for this new "All Mountain" line, dig the orange color blocks of jersey, but am going to pass. For warm climate riders, these pieces are drastically "over-featured." If I want a small fanny pack to carry a phone or headlamp battery, I'll wear one, but I don't see the sense in integrating one into a jersey limiting its seasonal usefulness & making it harder to wash.
  • 4 0
Agree on the 1.0 shorts. Great shorts, great value. Only had the pocket zipper shit the bed on me after a year and a half of use. Bought some 2.0’s on clearance and they are just as nice.
  • 2 0
Do the helmets have a breakaway light/camera mountyet? You'd think for such a safety/protection oriented company, it would be important to help minimize the extra rotational forces that can be imparted by a glued on gopro mount with a camera or light sticking out.
  • 6 0
That orange is smart protection from the deer hunters.
  • 2 0
My trail crew all rock leatt. My boys swear by their helmets and shoes and I rock their chesty. Only good things being said about this brand in our scrappy, steep area of Appalachia. Looking forward to trying out the new helmet. Leatt is rad gear!

Tried to contact Leatt about a replacement chin bar through their site's contact form. Never heard back Frown

Kind of bummed as I really like this helmet.
  • 5 0
Sorry to hear, drop me a message, please, and I will check with my north american colleagues, what went wrong.
  • 1 0
Had a similar issue with Leatt USA awhile back. A shame as I like their products. I still bought another helmet of theirs regardless, as the fit and the price were right, but their customer service did seem lacking
  • 6 0
@panthermodern: sorry to hear about a less than stellar customer service experience. I'd be willing to bet that your experience would be better today. We've stepped up our US operations considerably in the past two years. We have a highly knowledgeable customer service team based in Reno, NV (same location as our warehouse/fulfillment center). It might still be possible to get lost in the shuffle, but we're always striving to improve and customer service is important to us.

@leatt: Thanks for reaching out. I'll make another request through the support form online Smile cheers
  • 3 0
@leatt: I appreciate you all for trying to mend things in regards to my unanswered email. I definitely wouldn’t hesitate to buy another helmet from you in the future!
  • 3 0
I have several Leatt products and I recommend them. The quality and durability is good and the price is very reasonable (in Europe)
  • 2 0
I scooped 4 pairs of 3.0 flat shoes for $120 shipped. There are still some sizes/colors left. I'm super happy, won't need shoes again for a decade. Quality is excellent for $30/pair.

Having recently bought a gravity 4 helmet it's really good. I do think the chin strap material is a bit too narrow compared to my old proframe. I'm glad it has the fidlock though rather than the d ring like the new gravity 6 has. However nothing beats my fox pro carbon rampage helmet for fit and confidence. Absolutely superb.

 Leatt products are lovely.
  • 1 0
 Dear Leatt
Are you working on any kind of light mount for your helmets, like Kali is providing? I‘d really love to buy one of yor convertible helmets, but the lack of a break away light mount is holding me back.
  • 2 0
The Gravity 6.0 is my favourite full face I’ve ever worn. Fits my big melon perfectly, light weight with major protection and looks sick!
  • 2 0
Dude in the last pic must be on a pretty light bike. Now let's see him do that with a 37 lb Enduro rig!
  • 1 0
I had the exact same thought
  • 1 0
I was incredibly close to buying a Leatt helmet because they fit great but the rear band doesn't adjust far down enough for my weird skull. Maybe another inch?
  • 2 0
I have yet to have a positive experience with boa closure on shoes. Anybody dig their boa shoes?
  • 2 0
I do. I've got the (now old) Leatt 6.0 shoes and I love them so much I've just bought a second pair for when these are totally worn out.
I've snapped the left boa off once and had to ride the rest of the way out with a zip tie around my foot, but I just ordered a replacement pair of boas and it's been good since. (It was a solid crash)
The 6.0 is for (IMO) medium to narrow feet - my skinny flippers fit well. Definitely not wide feet. The boa is really quick and easy. They're not mega heavy shoes, moderately stiff sole so you can walk in them but they're not amazing at it. Great power transfer for a MTB shoe though.
Nicely breathable. Too airy for winter (I wore overshoes with them in the winter, and that was perfect), but I just rode a whole season in Sardinia with up to 42°, MTB & road and they were good up till the hottest times.
So boas - yes, I rate them. Leatt high end shoes. Yes I rate them.

Hey, maybe the boys want a super strechy waistband too? Looks comfy!
  • 2 1
Ignorant question: what happened to the neck brace? No one wears it anymore, and Leatt doesn't innovating this space anymore?
  • 1 0
I like Leatt's stuff, but as with everything bike clothing it's $$$ that I can't part with.
  • 3 0
Check out their clearance stuff on their website.
  • 2 0
So the shirt has a belt with pockets?
  • 2 0
 Correct
  • 2 0
That goggle strap position in the top picture is unnecessary
  • 1 2
"And yes, these jerseys and shorts/pants also come in an all-black colorway."

Which means the car and lorry drivers will find it much harder to see you on the way to the trailhead...
  • 9 0
Know the difference between a rider wearing high vis and a rider wearing all black is to a driver? Nothing, the driver is still looking at their phone.
  • 1 1
@dreamlink87: As someone who commutes I do wish more brands would throw a touch of reflective striping or thread on their products. I get that there's alot of irresponsible drivers out there, but have you never been caught off guard by someone who is virtually invisible at night because of how they are dressed? Vs someone wearing a visi vest you can see coming from hundreds of meters away?
  • 1 0
What is EPO other than a banned doping product? Was it a typo and EPP is the actual material? Or something different?
  • 4 0
Great question and definitely not a typo. EPO is Expanded Polyolefin. It's a closed cell, molded foam used to manage impact energy. On the Gravity 6.0 Carbon helmet, EPO foam is used in strategic areas alongside EPS foam. If/when you get this helmet in your hands, you'll see that the EPO foam is white and the EPS foam is black. These two types of foam have very different densities. Combining the two allows the Gravity 6.0 helmet to address a wide range of impact energies without being too bulky.

We use the the same EPS + EPO construction on the Enduro 4.0 and All Mtn 4.0 helmets too.

Tarmacking at 9am, MTB at 3pm.
  • 1 0
Solid looking flat pedal shoes w/ a Boa!? Take my money.
  • 1 2
Can i use these products to bumble down the trail, is it ok if i upload my footage to youtube?
  • 4 5
what the f was that? wheres the neckbraces & armour??
  • 6 0
They haven't stopped making them. This article is about the new stuff. The neck braces and armpit are still awesome! Ask me how I know lol
  • 2 4
 How does this get downvoted?
  • 1 0
@therealnobody: OK, how do you know? :-)
  • 1 0
@TwoSixTakeover: ribs in tact and still walkin after a big, bad 30' overshoot
  • 2 3
I had a pair of Leatt shoes, I have them away for free. No thank you
  • 2 4
Will the 6.0 carbon prevent me from bumbling?
  • 5 8
Riding in more comfort and style. Except, apparently minus the style.
  • 3 0
If it is about the colorways / designs: like all jerseys and pants also come in a black version.
And Martha does have style.
  • 5 0
That was how I felt a few years ago, but Leatt has come a long way. I like the look of their new helmets. I can take it or leave it for clothing as I am more about the materials and how fast they resist my bike stank after a couple of hours of hot weather or damp riding. Merino is a go; other materials have been a bit of trial and error.
