What... no slow mo' or POV?

YES!!!

403

kudos100 (May 28, 2015 at 4:26)

Note to all MTB film makers, every time you abuse the slow mo' button god kills a kitten. Just don't do it, it's getting ridiculous and millions of kittens are being killed with edits coming out on Pink Bike.

Alias530 (May 28, 2015 at 11:50)

No drawn out annoying intro watching them load their car up from annoying hipster camera angles and stupid music either. Good video!

51

joebmx88 (May 28, 2015 at 12:44)

No freeride flicks either!

140

schuttg (May 28, 2015 at 13:20)

5 second into, natural sound, shredding. Yes!! Yes!! VOD.

32

austinmc (May 30, 2015 at 11:08)

Is the freeride flick when you're riding straight or in a corner and flick the back end loose for no reason? I find it really annoying in videos; it's useless. Just riding for a camera that takes away from the actual riding.

30

kudos100 (May 30, 2015 at 13:08)

Pretty much. Unlike the Scandinavian flick which can actually be useful.

10

Callum-H (May 31, 2015 at 19:18)

What's the Scandinavian flick? Is it like the Euro Turn, where you flick the back towards the apex before entering the corner? so flick to the left for a left corner?

10

kudos100 (Jun 1, 2015 at 2:54)

Yeah that's it. See Ben Reid at 2.20 www.youtube.com/watch?v=tP4j71gyRB0

40

bkm303 FL (Jun 3, 2015 at 7:06)

Freeride flicks defined: nsmb.com/earth-based-kickouts

30

austinmc (Jun 11, 2015 at 11:58)

Thanks @bkm303, I'm honestly glad that it's getting called out lol

954

Borro (May 28, 2015 at 0:16)

On the last jump they tried to murder their bikes.

3659

RedBurn (May 28, 2015 at 1:57) (Below Threshold)

The would have succeeded if the rode kona frames hahaha :-)

1644

whitebullit (May 28, 2015 at 4:14) (Below Threshold)

no not really just seems like the second guy didnt quite have the speed he would of wanted, bikes like this can handle more than double that drop, emphasize on the more.

1248

whitebullit (May 28, 2015 at 8:22) (Below Threshold)

not sure on the neg props, maybe a few of you have never heard of red bull rampage?

110

bigburd (May 28, 2015 at 9:29)

I bet there is gonna loads of people trying that line now , that poor corner is gonna RIP as is the person who washes out where others have gone straight

51

freeride-forever (May 28, 2015 at 13:03)

More than double? Looks like a pretty flat landing there to me. :/

20

metong (May 28, 2015 at 15:15)

If only I could ride like them......even in my dreams.

21

chyu (May 28, 2015 at 19:48)

It wouldn't be called prototype testing if they didn't . hard life for pros, have to test frames that are not tested.

710

BeardlessMarinRider (May 28, 2015 at 3:16)

You know its a good vid when you can show it to any random person and they completely understand why you love riding bikes! Awesome video!

530

stuartmccarthy (May 28, 2015 at 4:24)

We need more videos like this! No slow mo, no crappy music just pure trail noise and flow.

10

Alias530 (May 28, 2015 at 17:21)

Lack of stupid irrelevant intro that's 1/4 the length of the whole video is nice too.

241

tienne (May 28, 2015 at 0:30)

BRUTAL

200

jimo746 (May 28, 2015 at 4:00)

That's the sound of Summer! No soundtrack, just the tyres ripping up the trail. Awesome!

80

spiniak (May 28, 2015 at 5:44)

Absolutely. Best soundtrack ever. Just the sound of rubber hanging on for dear life.

31

Baba-Ji (May 28, 2015 at 15:58)

actually its sound of rebound setting

..not the rubber itself

162

RedBurn (May 28, 2015 at 1:59)

that last rock drop is SO UNHEALTHY

146

Biocoug1 (May 28, 2015 at 7:13)

Eff me, if only my 40 year old ass could ride ruthlessly like I was 20's. Family, mortgage, job now no way I could ever ride like this now and feel like a responsible dad. Not that I could afford a severe injury anyway. This video was great.

175

thenotoriousmic (May 28, 2015 at 11:34)

Stop making excuses.

134

Biocoug1 (May 28, 2015 at 12:38)

Fine, you can pay my medical bills then. Broken arm is fine, shoulder or wrist whatever. Getting hurt doesn't scare me at all. Financially crippling my family does. Learn the difference. I've been hurt lots of times before. You recover, your wallet doesn't. I live in the US. The medical industry here make tons of money off of the sick, dying, injured and is total for profit industry and 100% bullshiz!

524

thenotoriousmic (May 28, 2015 at 13:15) (Below Threshold)

You can get hurt falling out of bed mate. If your more concerned about money than you are riding then this isn't the sport for you.

40

sourmix (May 29, 2015 at 1:36)

Give the guy a break, the cost of US healthcare to the average joe has to be seen to be believed

13

thenotoriousmic (May 29, 2015 at 10:43)

I'm only messing as long as your having fun that's all that matters.

121

Rabbii (May 28, 2015 at 0:14)

Thats fast

91

whitiemtb (May 28, 2015 at 1:27)

These guys must go through soooo many rims!

161

nikifor88 (May 28, 2015 at 4:22)

its called rimming

65

whitiemtb (May 28, 2015 at 5:19)

Your mum teach you that?

Sorry I kid of course I just couldn't resist! (cue many more mum jokes...)

20

reverend (May 28, 2015 at 16:46)

I doubt it. Mum's the word, mate.

50

Pedro404 (May 28, 2015 at 4:37)

How the hell was the shot at 1:20 done? There's no cable and it seems too fast and smooth to be a guy running backwards with a steadicam?

10

gavlaa (May 28, 2015 at 5:13)

Gimbal- there's quite a few shots that are shot using something like a Movi M5 or a cheaper copy of it. You can tell by how level the camera stays. Everyone and their dog will have one this time next year.

10

Pedro404 (May 28, 2015 at 5:36)

That's the only explanation I came up with, but stabilizers I've seen are fairly wide and those two trees at 1:23 look pretty close together, must have been sketchy as hell fitting through while running.

20

gavlaa (May 28, 2015 at 7:15)

Some gimbals have a 'briefcase mode' where the gimbal hangs sideways using just one of the handles. This makes it really narrow. Also some of the newer ones have detachable handles making it more streamline in tight spaces.

50

arna86 (May 28, 2015 at 8:53)

The speed he carries on that bike with the single crown forks is just insane!!! All those natural riding sounds....must get out and ride....faster too

62

fracasnoxteam (May 28, 2015 at 0:13)

BOUUM Viny-T, I'v just read BigBike this morning (juste après le café clope du matin...) nice interview and props to Gaetan!

34

kusa (May 28, 2015 at 2:18)

Actually it loos like 50% of video is shot in Morgins

But maybe im totally wrong...

20

freeride-forever (May 28, 2015 at 13:07)

Not sure why the front guy was on two different bikes. Was that Vinny T? I assume it was the same bruh. Anyway, buddy out front on the single crown was a fvckin' gnarler. Slippin' slidin', floatin', boostin' & tearin' that shit all Brannigan like. Gimme more viddies with that guy! More with Brannigan too. Maybe they should do an edit together, all radical 'n' shit.

51

Doumbogey (May 28, 2015 at 3:45)

Am i the only one to notice that one rider have a different bike at the end?

30

fab0ne (May 28, 2015 at 4:38)

Not only at the end... just at the beginning after the first section one of the guys switches his bike. Gambler -> Voltage

80

pascalchristen (May 28, 2015 at 5:07)

there are three riders, so there are also three bikes...

20

smoranc (May 28, 2015 at 11:12)

And they are constantly changing clothes too... hmmmm They are really fast!!! haha

10

toez (Jun 2, 2015 at 11:48)

They are test pilots!

20

ewan1993 (May 28, 2015 at 4:25)

I absolutly love the sound that a big makes when the trail is shredded, and shredded hard

40

Patrick9-32 (May 28, 2015 at 6:46)

Well. I am really slow.

20

russthedog FL (May 28, 2015 at 8:04)

Holy moly that was awesome, they move around so much on the bike sometimes I couldn't work out what they were doing!

10

VladMTBR (May 29, 2015 at 9:01)

Gotta love that last drop..... once I had to improvise a similar drop (took the wrong line) and I made it like a boss.... one of the best memories that I have.

10

Guiomtb (May 29, 2015 at 23:10)

From shorts to pants to shorts in the video. And teeshirts to long sleeve jerseys. How many days for a 1" video ? But nice edit it looks like a single run.

10

manolillommm (May 30, 2015 at 1:21)

At the end of the video u can read that there are 3 riders... that may explain this, and the different bikes they ride as well.

41

markbowden (May 28, 2015 at 0:46)

Wicked!

30

Crusher-Bob (May 28, 2015 at 4:27)

Say no to slo mo!

20

10

piranah (May 28, 2015 at 9:34)

This is the RAW footage? So this will be edited into some slo mo dubstep promo video? WHYYYYY?

10

Yes! Makes me want to buy a big bike and go wild.

62

RedBurn (May 28, 2015 at 2:01)

You dont need a big bike to go wild ... instead, how less suspension you got, how wilder it is

10

jesse-woodward (May 28, 2015 at 2:12)

their poor, poor bikes on that last drop

20

22

ajkelso1988 (May 28, 2015 at 3:47)

sweet. but since when did we become diva's and have to change kit twice in one edit.

10

pascalchristen (May 28, 2015 at 5:05)

there are three riders! and if you rewatch it, you'll notice that the shots are edited togehter in no certain order, the teams are switching all the time...
