Martyn Ashton takes the £10k carbon road bike used by Team Sky's Bradley Wiggins & Mark Cavendish for a ride with a difference. With a plan to push the limits of road biking as far as his lycra legs would dare, Martyn looked to get his ultimate ride out of the awesome Pinarello Dogma 2. This bike won the 2012 Tour de France - surely it deserves a Road Bike Party!
Shot in various locations around the UK and featuring music from 'Sound of Guns'. Road Bike Party captures some of the toughest stunts ever pulled on a carbon road bike.
@Loucas, true it looks good for Pinarello, but it looks even better for the Hope rims. Those things took a beating! ps - I wonder who in the Sky squad gave him that bike.
@mc2-media, I'm assuming you're talking about Simon Whitfield? The guy who won both a gold medal in 2000 and a silver medal in 2008? Yeah, he sucks alright. One crash and all of those accomplishments are forgotten I guess. Don't be a douche.
Is it just me, or did I not see any particularly harsh treatment of the bike? I know that he probably didn't pull off every move 1st take for the camera, but with his skill, he was probably sucking up a lot of the impact - you only have to watch the film to see how he isn't just smashing the bike into everything. It's all control and finesse... ergo, maybe it's the same bike start to finish???
LOL, thats funny shit!!! and to say that some of my triatlon friends get all pissed because there a bit of gravel on the road. Cant wait to see their faces!!LOL
gosh dammit! now i gotta respect roadies!? i mean, holy crap, this would be a rad video of talent on a "purpose" built bike. instead you had level up. flipping a sand trap!? i might have pooped myself a bit.
With or without performance enhancing drugs, neither Lance Armstrong, nor any other arrogant roadie has anything on Martyn or any trials rider. Martyn you are one crazy ass mofo. Rail gaps on a road bike?!!!!! Just don't go doin' that too often or you'll start to make roadies look better than they are. Road bikes are still super duper dumb. Lets not forget that.
Calling an entire group of riders "dumb" just because you don't partake in that particular aspect of riding is just plain ignorant. The only time I hate road riders is when they have the same attitude towards mtn biking that you're having towards them (and when they're in my lane when I'm driving, but that's a different complaint).
Let's try to be better than that, can't we? Hell, there might even be a roadie out there that mtn bikes, or vice versa. Imagine that!
no Pinarello Dogma 2 should ever be ridden like that! that is my dream bike and he just abuses the thing like its a trials bike what a waste i bet that bike never gets ridden again.
Well now... That was just gay! I had a hard time watching a guy in Lycra with skills but with absolutely no style. I think we all love watching people who have style over a bag of tricks... Ya good on ya for doing that. I'm sure that took years of practice, but you look like a homo still, I'm sorry!
Do you not get the irony dude? It was ROAD BIKE so he wore ROAD BIKE ATTIRE which happens to be lycra.... There are obvious performance advantages involved in a discipline where a few milliseconds can be shaved off by reducing wind resistance....
Martyn Ashton is one old school, cool mutha f**ker. Unlike you, who appear to be a bit of a homophobic, stereotyping, bigot.
And on that note, the stereotype that prevents me from taking up my mate's continual offer to move to Victoria....
dude, just to warn you , all the neg props are probably from us british that have been riding for over ten years and know that rider (martyn ashton) as a professional trials athlete who was world trials champion at one point and not a road rider...though i dare say he owns a road bike like a lot of us...including me
Very enjoyable, impressive video, but as for constructive criticism I would have liked to have seen more time in the skatepark and more standard jumps at speed both in the city and at the golf course. This video is dominated by too much trialsy stuff.
It was Mark Cavendish's old bike
Oh, and amazing riding by Martyn.

Wonder how many wheels and frames he went through!? lol
Also is that Robin Kitchin of old team Animal??
Let's try to be better than that, can't we? Hell, there might even be a roadie out there that mtn bikes, or vice versa. Imagine that!
