If you didn't get enough of Interbike coverage from Day 1 then you're in luck, here is a bunch more. This issue of Hungry Pete's Interbike coverage includes pics of the new Intense M6 that just happens to have a proto Manitou Dorado up front, new wheels from Industry Nine, and some bikes from the boys at Kona as well as a few other surprises.

I Missed The Premier Of NWD 8 To Get This Update D I Missed The Premier Of NWD 8 To Get This Update Done!
I am pretty sure that Interbike is held in the biggest room in the world. It is simply massive, atleast 7 square miles of bikes, probably bigger actually! So this year, instead of wasting my time in there, I decided to hire a bum to take my pics while I tan by the pool instead. This is what "Hungry Pete" came out with. If you don't like it then take it up with him....

I had my finger crossed all last night, but no luck on the Outdoor Demo getting any rain. Hmm if this were the Fraser Valley, it would have rained like 6 times by now. Since I'm here though it was time to get up and get at it-grab a snack on the way to the bus and WHOA! Holy Hell that is a HUGE ASS line up for the bus this morning. Hmmmm looks like the rest of the world showed up this morning and were in line too-just over an hour to get a ride out to the demo. Here are todays goods:

Even though we got a late start and pretty much spent the whole day looking for shade, I think we still managed to exceed expectations for Day 2 of the Dirrrrty Demo. The expectations are set quite low though so it wasn't to hard. Chris King is showing off a 1.5" headset and 150mm hub, '08 Manitou Travis, and some killer brakes from a few different people. There's a bunch more in here so read on....

Dirrrrty Day at the Dirt Demo Dirrrrty Day at the Dirt Demo
Day One of the Outdoor Demo went off today at Bootleg Canyon, about 30 minutes out of Vegas. Outerbike is a great chance for retailers to ride the bikes that they will be pushing next season, and helps decide which models and brands they will bring in. Not for us though. We lazed around in the sun all day, tanning, drinking beer, and creeping on ladies. When we needed a break from that we snapped a few shots of the latest and greatest for you to check out. So check it out.

Interbike Dirt Demo - Day 1 Interbike Dirt Demo - Day 1
After a long, sun burnt day, i sat down in the circa 1980, but still very comfortable couch, to let Denny's mushroom swiss burger settle in, and to talk about the long, but first day in the sun shine. Las Vegas has lots of lights, lots of girls, guys, pimps, playas, bro's and friends, but for 1 week out of every year most of the main bike manufacturing companies in the world meet together under one roof to talk about there up coming products.

Day one in the Desert and I got the least sunburnt Day one in the Desert and I got the least sunburnt-Check out the new bikes!
Well staying in the hotel has its perks-no need to get up earlier in order to be at the show on time, just roll out of bed, brush your teeth, grab your gear and walk downstairs. I think from a few groggy faces that I saw today (and they are only going to get greater in number as the week goes on) that others are loving the proximity too. Today and tomorrow are both the Outdoor demo days for the Interbike tradeshow and they take place at Bootleg Canyon, which is just a short drive from Sin City. Here's what we saw in the desert today:

Race 6 of the iXS German Downhill Cup - Finals in Race 6 of the iXS German Downhill Cup - Finals in Garmisch-Partenkirchen
The iXS German Downhill Cup’s final race is going to be held on 29th and 30th September 2007 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, being classified as a C2 race. The course which is about 2 kilometers long and offers a vertical drop of 430 meters is leading through the same area as Garmisch’s world-famous «Kandahar» alpine skiing course. As these data show, this is not a «typically German» downhill course: Thanks to varying surfaces – ranging from roots to rocks and grassy slopes – and some steep sections, this course can be characterized as technically demanding, yet rideable and a lot of fun for all competitors. Run times for the fastest riders are expected to range around 3:30 minutes, depending on the weather.

Commencal Meta 5.5 Numero 3 Review Commencal Meta 5.5 Numero 3 Review
Max Commencal has god-like status on the alpine mountain bike trails in France, and understandably so. A large percentage of people riding the steep and technical tracks around the French Alps have been doing so for years aboard bikes bearing the Commencal name written in distinctly funky fonts. One of the early riders piloting Max Commencal’s bikes was Cedric Gracia, who would eventually become one of the greatest downhill and freeriders of our time. At the time, however, both he and the Commencal brand were up and comers. Eventually Gracia was picked up by Cannondale, where he would quickly become a living legend on two wheels for his fearless riding and partying lifestyle. But much to many people’s surprise, Gracia went back to his roots in 2006 and is once again riding for his old friend Max Commencal.

Ok this is a little bit of a ramble, but I just got back to work after 6 days on the road and I was pondering why we (most downhillers/free riders) are so taken a back by an occasional pedal-or maybe it's just me?

Spending a lot of time behind the wheel and not behind handle bars allows you to think too much. This year I figure that I've only really gone out and pedalled like a half dozen times and most of those were in April. So what is my excuse?

All Mountain Wheeling – The DT Swiss Enduro EX 1 All Mountain Wheeling – The DT Swiss Enduro EX 1750
Out on the trail there are a few key elements that are a must for a good all mountain wheel set. Namely, as riders pushing our bikes to the limit in a variety of terrain, we want wheels that are durable, relatively stiff and light. They need to be able to take a beating while also spinning smoothly and efficiently. As all mountain wheels, the DT Swiss Enduro EX 1750 meets these criteria well, and with their white base and black and red decals, they look darn hot too.
