 “to traditional novel gear“

Definition of traditional.
: following or conforming to tradition : adhering to past practices or established conventions

Definition of novel.
1a : new and not resembling something formerly known or used

Well that’s that sorted then, I now know exactly what you are describing.

You misunderstand. Traditional novel gear is like one of those book lights that clips on to the back of the book, or a bookmark. They've been around for a long time without much changes.
  • 3 0
Traditional novel = EVOLUTION vs revolution.

I agree, an odd choice of words.
  • 13 0
Well I suppose if I wear dungarees, I will no longer need to carry micro tools with me. I can start to carry full size wrenches and I’m sure I could find somewhere to fit a full-size tire pump.
  • 7 0
You also save money on eyewear because you start wearing Home Depot safety glasses instead of Oakley or some $300 crap. Don't forget the glob of grease in your ear from when you were digging around for that itch; comes in handy if the chain starts making noise out on the trail too.
  • 7 0
Finally! I can service the Case 2366 and then rip the thirsty Thursday ride without having to get changed.
  • 3 0
Can't beat having your $180 overalls wafting the smell of gear oil at you for the duration of your ride.
  • 6 0
Lifetime warranty on droppers??? My life is a lie
  • 9 0
Lifetime warranty on all the parts except those which actually break / wear out.
  • 1 0
@dhrideruk: pretty solid marketing though eh.
  • 2 0
even better is lifetime refers to the lifetime of a seatpost not a rider, " pick a number any number!"
  • 5 1
So... $180 jean overalls are a thing in mountain biking now, huh? Can't say I saw that one coming.
  • 4 0
They aren’t designed for biking and for some reason pink bike has latched onto them and claimed they are a riding overall for some reason.
  • 1 0
@larry-mclush: Pinkbike is a marketing hype machine that will try and sell any new idea to the masses. They regurgitate all the marketing messages from manufacturers about how innovative and "necessary" all the newest standards are.
  • 1 0
@SeanC1: except that they aren’t regurgitating the manufacturers words. They’re regurgitating the words of a another publication, in which neither consulted the company
  • 3 0
Is Pinkbike going to realize that the overalls aren’t designed for riding bikes, and they never were?
  • 3 0
Came here for the Forbidden release....
  • 3 1
I want me on of those £1,099 Fezzari eBikes please
  • 2 0
screw that, I am splashing out for the £1699 one! might get a few to give out as stocking stuffers come christmas.
  • 2 0
 That Orbea looks absolute fire
  • 1 0
When are we going to get carbon chains and sprockets? What about Carbon stanctions and pedal spindles? Carbon axles?
  • 1 0
I would like some carbon nanotubes in my brake fluid, please.
  • 1 0
How 'bout carbon jeans while we're at it?
  • 1 0
 @bikindad: Carbon tyres, Carbon sealant?
  • 1 0
@MattP76: Both already exist, after a fashion: Vittoria has tires with graphene, and Black Ox tire sealant contains carbon fiber.
  • 1 0
 @barp: Carbon gear cables?
  • 1 0
Missed opportunity by WTB, should have called them the Pantera wheelset, not Proterra.
  • 2 1
I wonder what the Mondraker prices will be like in Canada.
  • 15 0
take the US prices, do the currency conversion, then add 10% due to the maple syrup tax.
  • 2 0
@conoat: 10% is a bargain. Maple syrup is worth every penny.
  • 2 0
 @tremeer023: it certainly is.
  • 6 6
Wear denims and be a dick about it ! At least, wear some denims and look like a d**k on your bike !
  • 13 9
You must have very low self confidence if you need to judge fellow riders by what they like to wear.
Why not just letting everyone wear the gear they want?

Whats wrong with people these days?
  • 14 1
@soniccube: people aren't any different, it's just now they have a fancy box to (dick)pound it out unto the universe, and you subsequently get to read every retards musings.

the future isn't dumber, it's just noisier.
  • 3 0
@conoat: Mostly right, but the box becomes a Force-Multiplier not ever seen before in human history. DIAMOND HANDS!
  • 3 0
@soniccube: Purchased some riding denims eh? Smile
  • 3 0
@Dustfarter: Dude i didn‘t. But when i started riding downhill, freeride or whatever you want to call it, people rode often in Jeans as they protected way better than lycra Smile There was nothing else at that time....

And honestly, it‘s just kindergarten to mimimi about what people wear or ride. Just my opinion....
  • 1 0
Dungarees.... not sure that’s gonna catch on.
  • 14 0
They will. They will catch on.... your saddle and chainring.
  • 1 0
 The Dungaree Destroyer disagrees
  • 1 0
Ramp Control is money. Worth every dime.
