MTB industry in Russia goes by its own, strange way. It has begun dying even before it was truly born..." For non-Russian speakers there are captions in English on Vimeo link. Finally... A movie in the spirit of "Check out how hardcore we are!" instead of "Check out how good my bike is" or "how great my trail is". I absolutely enjoyed it! Keep up the good work! I WANT MORE!
Brilliant piece of filming, showcases their almost naively anarchic spirit perfectly. On the whole it isnt the most polished riding any of us have seen, but there`s a raw energy in there, a desire to catch up with best in the world and take it to them that is infectious to watch. Loved the segment with the skinny lad on the roadbike who goes dirtjumping and pulls off the killer trick in the pissing rain at the end, theres no calculated coolness there, just delight that we would all feel if we`d nailed something when it mattered the most. Takes a lot to hold my attention for half an hour, but this had me sucked right in!
Utterly brilliant, soundtrack, cinematography, riding, lighting...the list goes on and on. Utterly bonkers too, loved every minute. Bravo to all involved.
@codfather1234 - still, as a ratio, very few people were wearing their helmets. Doing tricks on pavement could even be more dangerous than the dirt jump sections on soft dirt.
That was great and it was hilarious to hear the SF hipster shoegaze tunes I can't stand in real life, in Siberia?!?! If I win this 900 Million Powerball, I'm funding these Russian kids on an unlimited world tour to Crnkworx and beyond. I don't care who I have to bribe to get visas. If you didn't like this film, f*ck You. From the first manual to fakie I knew this was going to schralp.
One of the most stylish Russian mtb movies along with Your Peak I and II (for example), but with much more technical riding ...and, again, style. That's when I become proud for my country!
Nihilistic, punk as fuck, full frontal assault greatness! It was like skateboarding listening to atari teenage riot, rather than shining carbon bikes listening to dave matthews band. Loved. This.
Honestly, Russia is home to the greatest mountain biking in the world. There is a park in Siberia that makes whistler look like a little pathway with cupcakes lining it. If you get a chance to go, check out the mountain bike madness in Siberia
Yeah, it probably won't be on there. You just helicopter to the middle of Siberia and just start shredding down a snow capped mountain. It's the adventure of a lifetime
been around Russian riders lots lately and this video sums up perfectly their freestyle lifestyle!!! Not afraid of looking like weirdos!! These guys are the real deal.
loved it
If you are trying to say that my comments are all about politics so you are wrong. It's all about the video. I like to relax and to watch some new interesting positive extreme video on PinkBike with nice riding quality, nice music and maybe some useful information about tech news. And when I see this videos I don't understand what they doing on this site. This site is about riding bicycles and there is too little riding in in the video and too much strange faces, strange people, aggressive music, strange actions and NO useful information about the riding and bicycle equipment. So maybe I am too snobbish but my opinion about this negative video is negative too. I have account not only on a PinkBike but on some russian bike rider's sites too. And I saw a lot of really good and positive videos (which the russians made) there and my feed backs were really positive! So it is not about the politics it is about the video!
These russian riders have always been there! I watch edits of all of them for years! Just happy to watch them in an HD (incredibly well) produced movie before they pass out !!
ROCK! Russian rides like them wanna to die! Best riders ever! But still my heart goes to Godziek 15 years of riding and still VVC smashes my brain out!
Yep, i got that. Was replying to the other guy. Really cool someone from US listens to this kind of Ukrainian music. I would also recommend Kroda and Nocturnal Mortum (sure, if you haven't heard em yet). Although, they are a bit different, and not all songs are perfect (IMHO), but they have some really great ones.
Cool - I didn't mean to come off as a jerk! Your username sounds familiar - reminds me of Fenriz from Darkthrone. I have yet to find a band with perfect songs - it's all about moments within songs that stick with me. I'm not very familiar with those 2 bands but I know they have been around a long time...I'm more into shrieking vocals than the classic grunting, but you can't go wrong with Carpathian BM. I listen to a lot of weird little bands but also better known stuff like Mitochondrion, Portal, Krallice, Ash Borer, even Black Cascade-era WITTR. Drives my wife n kids insane.
Username inspired by Scandinavian mythology, so not surprising it can be met many times in the Black Metal environment, lol. Although I'm not that much BM follower, so I'll have to check many of new bands from what you've listed, since they are new to me) Thanks And great your family shares happiness of listening good music with you)
That was unreal, easily one of the best videos I have seen. Congratulations to all involved - insane to see Hotel Cosmos in the backdrop of the first segment... Given how big Russia is, seeing a part I recognise from when I visited was ace!
outstanding. get the whole spirit for the whole movie, even when the operator is not the same like in Chita cost fucking a lot of time and struggle.
Final part in the new build park is the best. Strizhak crash with superman is just wooohow!
Thanks, the thought came to me that they used bmx specific frames to use a lot of diffrent hubs instead of the geisha. Wonder if the geisha hub for mtb is still in production. Would be nice to have a 32hole freecoaster hub for mtb.
Pity that they don't practice real mountain bike; I would have liked to see some russians spots, trails, landscapes... Anyway: excellent film, and f****g good musical choices.
russians have always been strange, aggressive and freaky... This video confirms this. Really too much drama on an empty space, bad music, standard russian cinematography and too much dirt. (dirt not in a bike meaning) As for the riding- I saw better in many other videos. Very ugly video. (if the word ugly can be used in this sense) Hope not to see some videos like this again.
I absolutely enjoyed it! Keep up the good work! I WANT MORE!
New is not so....yet)
But for example
